btw, d'you know what struck me about that joydeep-bhoomi scene -- that is was exactly a gender-role reversal!

typically (ie, in hindi movies of - oh - about 30 years ago!) this was exactly joydeep's was exactly the attitude of one of those "good village girl" who got married to a "happening town boy". he'd party, and she'd cry. then he'd get irritated, yank her into their bedroom (of course), say "c'mon on baby let's do it". she'd cry even more. and he'd stomp off in disgust. of course, afterwards, the "good fairy godmother" would shake up the girl, do a makeover where the "gvg" starts looking like a "happening town girl", but is deep down inside still the "gvg". but the "htb" would fall in love with her finally, and they would live happily ever after.

i was totally hysterical when i saw joydeep doing the "good village girl" role - he's such a big fellow in front of bhoomi and he was cringing and crying like a girl. and everyone knows that for all that is relatively delicate looking, bhoomi's got - ehrm! - male hormones that is more than that in the total male population in all of temple-of-doom@.

it was just hysterically funny. in the old hindi movies, one felt sorry for the stereotypical "gvg". but to see joydeep do the part??! - 🤣

hehe Estee, hilarious comparison. Joydeep is so feeble and timid, and yes girly whereas Bhoomi has all the qualities of a male dominating partner. 😆 So Estee's example is apt. Take away the Deep and you get Joy (girl's name) 😆 anyhoo, he really needs to get a backbone. Bhoomi has way too much attitude, i want him to take her down a peg or two.
