~Chapter 9 - Initiating the Wedding Rituals~
Khushi looked at the extremely beautiful necklace holding it in her hands. That shine from the diamond beads made her eyes shine with immense joy. His first gift. There was no doubt that his choice is the best.. then be it of choosing Khushi or this beautiful necklace. A rare shade of red covered her cheeks, as she revived their first date. She was just loving her life nowadays. Everything was experienced for the first time, and she was loving how the things were getting aligned in front of her.

Arnav tied the tie around his neck, barking orders to his Personal Assistant, Aman, into his blue-tooth. How much hard work that poor Aman has to do nowadays! With his Sir most-of-the-time busy in the thoughts of his to-be Ma'am, Aman was the one who needed to look after all the office-work.
"Yeah Aman. I don't want any meeting during the evening today. Postpone all the meetings to tomorrow. And yes. Mr. Mikimoto sent me a mail to meet today at 11. Have all the arrangements done" he spoke professionally, reconsidering his tight schedule for the day.
"Sir. Actually the Khanna's want to meet you today evening before they leave back to US. Should I refuse them?" Aman asked.
"No no don't refuse them. Ask them if they can come today afternoon"
"Sir but there's no such important meeting in the evening. We can call them in the evening"
"Not in the evening Aman. I have some personal work. I'm sure they'll agree for the afternoon"
"I'll talk to them Sir"
"Mail me all the details" Arnav ordered him, hanging the call.
He sighed looking at his reflection in the mirror. 'Anything for you, Khushi' he spoke to his reflection, smiling. He slipped into his waist coat and picked up his coat, walking out of his room to the breakfast table.
It was clear seeing the scene that Anjali was typically Arnav Singh Raizada's blood sister. The difference was just that he ordered people sternly, and Anjali ordered people smilingly. While Arnav was sure about the things he wanted to be done, Anjali had to make a list of things and keep adding more with passing time.
But why was this chaos in Raizada Mansion today? Actually.. they were taking Shagun to their to-be daughter-in-law's house; so everything needed to be perfect.
"Hari Prakash ji. Where are the sweets?" Anjali asked, looking already tired with wandering here and there in the mansion since morning, and ordering the servants.
"Ji. I'll just bring it" Hari Prakash informed her, vanishing within a second.
Arnav came forward and held his sister with her shoulders. Making her sit on one of the chairs of dining table, he fetched a glass of water for her, "Di. Why are you exerting yourself so much? There are so many others in this house who can look after. You don't need to stress yourself."
"Chotte I'm fine. I'm just excited for the Shagun" she replied, smiling at him.
"Di I understand. But.. Chalo leave it. Let's have breakfast first and then you can continue" he said and pulled a chair for himself.
The breakfast was a silent affair, with Anjali occasionally looking at the list in her hand and adding up things to-do.
After the breakfast Arnav left for office while Nani, Anjali and Manorama engaged themselves for the preparations.

Gupta House.
"Maa. Are you even realizing what you're making your son do?" Khushi's brother, Ankit asked his mother. He held a duster in his hand, being asking to clean the showpieces showcased in the living room.
"So what? Today your sister's marriage has to be officially finalized. Don't you want to be a part in helping us?" Khushi mother said, looking at Ankit with a emotional-blackmail type of expression.
"Maa. Where is the iron?" Khushi shouted from her room, holding a sari to be ironed.
"Coming beta" her mother said loudly. Patting her son's back, she moved to her daughter's room to help her out. Ankit helplessly looked at her retreating back and then picked up the Laughing Buddha idol to clean it.
"Arey waah. My doll will wear a sari today?" Garima gleamed with happiness.
"Haan Maa. But I'm not able to find the iron. And also I don't no how to drape it" Khushi said, feeling tensed.
"Don't worry. Go and bring any sari from my cupboard. I'll find the iron meanwhile" Garima ordered her, both getting engaged in their respective works.

Evening 6.00 PM.
The bell of Gupta House rang, inviting the whole Raizada Family in for the Shagun. As Nani, Anjali, Manorama, Aakash, Payal and Arnav's Mamaji settled themselves in the living room, a group of servants followed them to put the huge thalis covered by velvet cloth on the table.
Khushi served them the tea, finding it a bit difficult to handle the sari she wore. After serving the tea, Khushi went to sit between Nani and Anjali, as they asked her to. Manorama, being equivalent to Arnav's mother, was the one starting off the Shagun rasam. She put the tilak on Khushi's forehead, following to tie a holy thread around her wrist. Nani placed a coconut with a box of jewelery on her lap, and Khushi bent to touch the feet of both Manorama and Nani.
Just after the rasam got over and Khushi's mother went into the kitchen to arrange for snacks, the doorbell rang again. Not finding her mother coming to open the door, Khushi herself got up to see who was there.
Khushi opened the door, only to gasp with shock by seeing Arnav standing before her.
"Arnavji?" she literally whispered, looking around her with a frightened look, "What are you doing here?"
But he didn't care to reply.. busy admiring his to-be-wife in a beautiful purple sari. It was true that he liked her in everything she wore, but she looked breathtakingly wonderful in a sari.
"Arnavji. You know na that the guy is not allowed on the day of Shagun. Then why are you here?" she again asked, her voice getting thinner with nervousness.
"You look really beautiful Khushi" he whispered complimenting her, making her go back into her blushing-mode.
"Arnavji. If Naniji sees you here, she'll definitely not like it. Please leave" she almost pleaded.
"But why Khushi? I'm just here to meet you" he spoke, smiling innocently.
"Okay. Now you've met me. Okay? Now go" she nervously stuttered, wiping her forehead with her sari.
"Really Khushi. This is how you treat your guest?" he asked her, faking his anger.
"Nahi Arnavji.. It's not like that...I--" she was stopped as a voice called from behind her, making her eyes widen with fright.
"Khushi? Who's there?" Khushi's mother came from behind Khushi, surprised to find Arnav standing at the door.
"Arnav beta?" she asked, her voice loud enough for Anjali to come to the door.
"Chotte. You here? I thought you were in a meeting right now" Anjali asked, feeling confused about her information.
"It got over soon Di. So I came here" he said and smirked looking at Khushi.
"But you can't come here. You go home. I'll call Hari Prakash to get your dinner ready" she said to him, taking out her phone.
"No need Di" he said, starting to use his own equipped emotional drama techniques, "It's ok. I thought I'll come here and meet Khushi and her family. But if I'm not allowed, then it's okay. I'll go back to the office only.." and he turned back.
"Arey Arnav beta. Why are going going back?" Garima's heart melted, "Come inside the house."
"But Garimaji..?" Anjali objected.
"Don't worry Anjali beta. Vaise bhi the Shagun is over now, all the children can sit together and chat" Garima said, smiling at Anjali, then at Arnav. Anjali nodded, feeling Garima's decision to be right.
Arnav and Khushi followed the two into the house, with Arnav slipping his hand into Khushi's and giving it slight squeeze. Khushi looked at his hand, and then into his eyes. She again felt warmth rising her cheeks. Now it had seriously become usual for Khushi to handle that blush. Every time he was around, that blush had to creep in.
But anyways. A perfect day continued to be perfect as Khushi, Arnav, Ankit, Aakash and Payal chatted. And as now Khushi was officially finalized to be Arnav's partner, Arnav felt more close to her. A person who once refused to attend his own cousin's marriage for work, as it happened during Aakash's marriage, can now cancel meetings for something he was not even allowed to do; just to meet his lady.. can be proven terribly wrong if he says that it's not Love!
