There she was standing at a busy bus stop waiting for the bus to arrive. She said to herself, "God I hope I get this job! Rano ka tuition bhar nah hai..aur papa..wih toh ab iss duniya mein bhi nahi rahe. Ma ke marne ke baad sharab mein doob gayi aur phir sharab nehi unki maut leh li. Ab zimadari hi meri...mere doh beheno ko sambhal neh ki. I just have to get this job so Rano and I can get the things needed to survive."
The herd of people swarmed and pushed her…she was jerked out of her thoughts and realized that the bus is coming. She jumped up on the bus and got herself a seat. There were people ogling at her. She didn't care about that. She was used to those looks from people. She just spotted a seat and sat down there. Twenty minutes later the bus stopped close to her destination. She got out walked for about five minutes and went and stood in front of the building where she hoped she would work. There it was. Walia Industries. It was known for their business in buying out old hotels and properties and rebuilding it and guaranteeing success. This large empire today started out as a small business by the great businessmen Jai Walia and later on his best friend Aditya Bali worked with him. Now they were very successful and now beginning to expand abroad in the States.
She thought to herself: Hey Bhagvan help me and say that this interview goes well and I get the job as Jai Walia's assistant. With that said she took her first step and began to walk inside the office. It felt good to come inside from the scorching heat outside.
She waited with the rest of the others wanting the same job. There were mostly girls dressed in the latest trends…a mini skirt…a tank and some heels. They were beautiful. They looked like Victoria's Secret models. And there she was sitting and looking at herself when someone calls out…"Miss Bani Dixit?" She stood up from her seat and said "Ji" The receptionist glanced at Bani and gave one of the most evil looks like she owned the place.
The receptionist pointed at the massive door separating the foyer and Jai Walia's office. Bani took a step forward and knocked on the door.
A strong voice could he heard saying come in.
She walked in and stood there in front of Jai Walia, Aditya Bali and Aditya's son..Ranveer.
She had heard a lot about Jai Walia's charisma, charm, and drop dead good looks makes a lot of girls fall for him. Yet he was never married in his thirty years but came close to it. He was dressed to kill in an all black business suit. He looked up and had a smile on his face. Never in his professional life…or rather never at Walia Industries did he ever see a girl like this walk into his office. She wasn't hideous but she was definitely something different. She wore old fashioned style kameez which covered her pretty much from neck down. Her eyes not clearly seen because they were covered between bushman eyebrows and the thick rimmed glasses she wore didn't really help. Her hair in a pony tail…no accessories.. except for her watch and a plain silver necklace given to her by her mother.
Jai looked through her files and certificates and saw that she was an intelligent person. She was only 20 but she had already graduated and received her Bachelors degree in business.
Jai: hmm..Miss Dixit you seemed qualified to do more than be a secretary so why are you applying for this job?
Bani: Mr. Walia, I just recently graduated..i have no work experience…so I am perfectly okay with starting from the bottom.
Jai was thinking to himself…she may not be the "normal" type to work here but damn she is very qualified. None of the other interviewees I have seen have come close to the academic knowledge she has. She seems hard working and very honest.
Jai: Miss Dixit you're hired
Jai: Ranveer can you make sure she gets her appointment letter
Adi and Ranveer were happy with Jai's decision…she was very well qualified for this job and she had more brains than the other people they interviewed.
Bani had the biggest smile on and her metal braces were shinning bright. She left the office with her appointment letter and all the other interviewees were notified that the position has just been filled.
A well dressed lady walked by and asked the receptionist…who took the job. The receptionist has pointed at Bani as she left the office. The lady was very happy that the position wasn't filled by some other girl. She didn't want anyone laying a hand on her Jai Walia. He was hers and no one else's.
She heard her name being called from behind her…Roshni
She turned around and it was none other than Jai.
Roshni: Hi Jai
Jai: tum yaha kaise?
Roshni: bas aise hi.. I thought I would stop by and visit.
Roshni was a lawyer who worked for the Walia Group of Industries. She came from an extremely wealthy background that made their money in the field of business but she was passionate about law. She was an amazing lawyer because of her attitude…but her attitude also made her somewhat of a bitch.
Roshni walked over and hugged her boyfriend…Jai.
Jai: tum yaha ho toh…want some lunch?
Roshni: yup bohout bhook lagi hai

Bani arrived at her apartment and opened the door to find Rano sitting on the couch doing what else but studying. Bani goes over and hugs Rano.
Rano: kya hua di. Aaj aap bohout khsush lag rahe ho
Bani: that's because I am Rano. I am! I got the job of Jai Walia's secretary.
Rano: congratulations di! Your first job and that too in Walia Group of Industries. Hell if you prove yourself I am sure ki Mr. Walia would even promote you higher than a secretary.
Bani: hmm…I think so too. He seems like a nice man

The next morning, there was Bani sharp at 8 AM at her desk in front of Jai's office. She was being shown her tasks by Jai's former secretary, Khushi. Khushi was a nice girl but she needed to move on from here onto better things…out of Mumbai and into a new city.
She sat down and explained to Bani that working with him is nothing easy..even if it is just being a secretary. She was telling her that he has horrible mood swings and the worst anger I have ever seen but deep down he is a good man. Listen to him and I am sure he will guide you to success. He likes his coffee at 8:30 sharp with the newspaper and the pending work from last night…which rarely will happen. By nine he likes to get started on all his work including meetings, and trips and vagera. Make sure you keep his schedule up to date..Wishing Bani luck, she left. By that time it was already 8:30 and Jai Walia was already in his office. Bani went in and handed him his coffee and newspaper while she wished him Good Morning with a big huge smile. He smiled back and wished her good morning too. She left his office and went back to her work. She went to see what other work he had to do for today. In checking the office out and other things…it was already 10. She looked at the massive table calendar and realized that Mr. Walia has a meeting at 10:15 with Tarun Sablok. She knocked in and went inside.
Bani: Mr. Walia…aap ki 10:15 ki meeting hai Mr. Shablok se.
Jai: okay thanks. Mein abhi jaata hoon..par first can you file these folders..
Bani grabbed them and began to file away. When she was done it was almost noon. But one file wasn't completed.
Bani: thank god I spotted this.
She went inside Jai's office and placed the file folder with the work on his table.
She felt it was extremely hot in the room so she walked over to the back of the room where there was a window. She opened it and before she knew it..the strong winds flew papers all around Jai's office.
Jai walked in and saw a haze of white papers all over his room.
Jai pretty much screaming: What the hell is going on here?!?!
Bani nervously looking at jai: ji sir…
Jai: khidki bandh karo!
Bani: ji sir..
She rushed over and closed the window.
Jai: what the hell is this Bani? Can't you see ki bahar zor se hawa chal rahi hai…and you deicide to open up the window?! What the hell? Socch thi nahi sakti about the papers?
Bani: par sir…its just that it was really hot in this room..and I didn't think the winds…
Jai: I don't care Bani… just get all this back together! Aur ha did you file the things I told you to file.
As she was picking up the papers…yes sir…and I left that one folder there because I think it wasn't complete.
Jai flabbergasted: What????
Bani: I just think that you didn't check the work there properly
Jai: excuse me???
Never in his life had Jai been corrected…not at least in business. He was thorough in his work. Rarely just rarely would there be an error on his part.
Bani: but sir just take a look at your numbers..they don't match up. Your graph shows different data.
She was right. He did mess up. He knew she was very well qualified to do much better things than be a secretary but she needs to prove herself before he can give her a promotion.
She was done cleaning up and reorganizing his office. It was one by then and she was starving to eat some lunch.
Bani: sir mera lunch time hogaya hai…I am going to go eat lunch. I'll be back in thirty minutes and don't forget apki ek aur meeting hai with Mr. Rawal at two.
Jai: ok Bani.
She left his office and took out her lunch and decided to move towards the cafeteria, where most of the staff was gone as lunch time was almost over but there was this one group of beautiful girls just singing away

They all introduced themselves to Bani and began having a blast! They laughed and talked about all the hottest guys they had seen.
Before they knew it the lunch was over. They all went back to their respective desks. While going back Navs said: acchi ladki hai yeh. I hope she lasts.
Jigna: I hope so too…I hope she doesn't fall in love with Mr.Walia like every other one of his secretaries has.
Sam: who can resist his charm???
Navs: definitely not you. Krishna can!
They all have a laugh and get back to their work.
Bani went back to her desk at 1:45 and reminded Jai again that his meeting was at two.
The day was over at 5. She left her office to go back home.

Bani went home and began to prepare the dinner and then Rano walked in.
Rano: di I am soo happy! Today's college was good! I am soo happy we decided to move to Mumbai. We are going to meet this professor from MIT explaining quantum physics.
I am soo happy. I have to prepare myself so I can know what he is talking about. Di waise mere excitement mein koh poochna hi bhool gayi..aap ka din kaisa raha?
Bani: it was good Rano. I feel like I belong there. Uncomfortable nahi lagta.
Rano: Good di! Lagta hai yeh sheher humare liye good luck ban raha hai
Both have a laugh at it and make their dinner and finish it.

Months have passed by and Bani is getting very comfortable working with Jai and everyone there. She would take his coffee and newspaper in every morning, reminded him of his meetings and everything else. But for Bani, it became more than just a work relationship. Somewhere deep down there were feelings begin to form for Jai…she wasn't sure if it was just friendship, a mere crush, or if it was actually love.
Startled by the loud rings coming from her phone, she comes out of her thoughts and gently hits her head.
Bani: mein bhi pagal ban rahi hoon
She goes to pick up the phone and its Rano sounding angry and concerned.
Rano: Di where the hell are you? Raat ked us baj gaye hai and you haven't came home yet! God knows if you have eaten. If you were going to come late you should at least call.
You know how many times I have called your cell phone? Why do you even have a cell phone if you're not going to pick it up!?
Bani: Rano calm down. I am just here at the office just finishing up some work. Mein ghar jaldi aah jaoogi. Promise.
Rano: ok di. Bye
Bani: bye
Bani got back to her work. It really was hard being jai's secretary. She always was running around from one office to the other making sure things were running smoothly.
Jai who now was just passing by Bani's office say that she was still in there
Jai: Bani..
Jai: Bani what are you still doing here. Raat ke dus baj chuke hai aur tum ghar nahi gayi.
Bani: ji sir...
Jai: sir kucch nahi..chalo mein tumhe chod deta hoon.
Bani: sir uski koi zaroorat nahi hai..mein taxi mein chali jaati hoon
Jai: Bani….
Bani knew that tone…it was soft..it's only soft right before anger was getting ready to burst. His warning tone.
Bani grabbed her bag and began walking out of the office with Jai.
They were approaching, his black Escalade (one day I will get that car!) side by side when Jai's hand rubbed against Bani's. She felt a shiver and tingle going down through her spine.
He just kept on walking like nothing happened but for her…it was like magic.
She just stared at him…without thinking where she is going or what she is doing…
Bani: ouch!
While she was staring at him..she wasn't conscious of where she was walking and she had bumped into the back of the escalade. (happens to me all the time)
They got in and Jai was driving her back home….
Jai just started chuckling
Bani: aap hass kyu rahe hai??
Jai: Bani tumhe tumhara chehra dhekna chahye tha when you bumped into the back of the SUV. Lagta tha ki hum tom and jerry mein the. Tum tom aur meri car jerry!
Bani: Mr. Walia!
Jai still couldn't stop chuckling like crazy…
If she had anything to throw at him…she would!
Jai: accha bolo ab yaha se kaha turn karna hai.
Bani said sternly: take a right
Jai: Bani…listen…I am sorry…
He received no response from her…
Jai: but I couldn't help it. I mean tum dekh kaha rhai thi ki you bumped into my car.
Bani: still no response.
Jai: come on Bani it was just a joke…maaf kardo
He flashes hid famous smile and who wouldn't melt
Bani : accha theek hai maaf kar diya.
Jai: lo tumhara ghar bhi aah gaya
Bani: thank you
She got out of the car and was walking towards her apartment and saw Jai zoom off. She went in and saw Rano sleeping in her room…Bani ate her dinner..and fell into the comfort of her bed.
Bani: yeh meh pehle kya socch rahi thi..mein aur Mr. Walia??? It's just a little crush. It'll go away soon. Hopefully.
She drifted off to sleep.
