Bittersweet Moment
A young woman ran upto the Ticket Counter... she was panting... her eyes were swollen... tears were streaming out of her eyes... she took a moment to take her breath...
She turned back for half a second... he was not there... not running behind her...
She led out a sarcastic smile...
Was he ever there for her?
She nodded her head negatively and bought a bottle of mineral water... she cracked open the seal and gulped down some contents of that water...
How could she even think that he would try to stop her... isn't this what he wanted... she being away from her life...
Picking up her small bag... she staggered towards the counter... there was only one place where she could go know...
Srinagar...
Wiping her tears away she asked the old man over there... "Kaka... ek ticket... Jammu Tawai..."
The old man looked at her... "Betiya... kab ke liye.."
"Abhi.." Sakshi said..
"Beti... ab... chalo dekhta hoon..." he murmured... thankfully it was an empty train...
"2nd class... par kyunki itni jaldi khareed rahe ho toh kharch.." The old man said... "Koi baat nai..." she said and paid him by cash...
"Aapka naam.." he asked...
"Sakshi Rawte." she said...

Arjun came up to consciousness... his head whizzed in pain... wait he had to stop her.. clutching his head he tried to move his limbs... when he felt a tight grip on his hands...
"Rawte... are you fine?" a familiar voice asked...
"Sam..." he mumbled...
Sameer stiffened... there was a serious issue... Arjun felt the presence of another person as well.. must be Ayesha...
She handed him over a strong cup of tea...
As Arjun started recollecting what had happened... his eyes shot out open...
"Sam... I need to find her... woh chali gayi... woh woh..." Arjun said like a frantic...
"Mujhe kuch samaj main nahi aa raha hai..." Sameer said...
"Did you just say Sakshi left?" Ayesha asked... shocked...
"Haan... woh.. woh.." Arjun said.. "We fought..." he mumbled...
"Damn It! Arjun tell me something else... half of the time you anyways fight with her! You should have left her so as to she could have a better life!" Sameer gritted through his teeth...
"That is what I intended to do Sam... but that destroyed everything..." Arjun's voice chocked...
"Shut up both of you... ek ladki khilona nahi hoti ki ek baar iss aadmi ke saath rakhdo... agar khush nahi toh kisi aur ke saath... and Rathore sir aap bhi?" Ayesha shook her head negatively...
"Kaha gayi hai?" Ayesha asked...
"Pata nahi..." Arjun answered..
"Chalo uske ghar dekhte hain..." Sameer said and the trio walked out...
"How did you find me?" Arjun asked...
"Called you 5 billion times... no pick up... called Sakshi... no pick up... I was scared... cause the last time this happened.." Sameer's voice trailed away as he sped the SUV towards Sakshi's previous flat...
"The last time this happened it was Roshni's murder..." Arjun completed...
Ayesha kept silent... her mind revolved on one thing... Sakshi had loved Arjun with every breath she took... she is sure that Sakshi still does... then what happened that she left?
"Damn It!" Sameer swore upon reaching her home...
"It's locked... Arjun sir... koi relatives?" Ayesha asked...
Arjun nodded no...
Sameer immediately called up Shree to track her phone... "Wo Ghar pe hain Rathore.. the phone's at home.." Arjun answered... looking lost...
"Why the hell would she leave without phone?" Sameer asked shocked!
"Mujhe nahi pata..." Arjun mumbled and slumped on the bench as Ayesha kept on talking with Shree to get negative responses about her movement... her credit card was unused... her phone - at home.. none of her friends knew... she didn't have much either... parents were already dead... and the last thing would be relatives... hadn't he married her to save her from them?
"Devta Arjun... aapko kuch bhi pata hai ya nahi? 3 saal ki shadi hai usse... kuch toh pata hoga... right something! Koi toh hoga iss dunia main jiske paas woh jaa sakti hai..." Sameer asked to Arjun frustratedly...
"Haan... ek hain..." Arjun said suddenly...
"Sir milgaya... Srinagar.. Sakshi Rawte ne kuch 15 hours pehle on board hui... she would reach there by few more hours..." Ayesha concluded...
"When is the upcoming flight to Srinagar?" Arjun asked...
"Sir... in 6.30 ke kareeb ek flight hai.." Ayesha said...
"Book kardo... when would we reach Srinagar?" Arjun asked...
"10.45 in the morning... there are 2 stops in between..." Ayesha concluded...
"Fine... book 3 tickets..." Sameer said...
"No.. only 1.." Arjun said...
"Damn it... Arjun... it's better we three.." Sameer started..
"NO.. just 1!" Arjun said...
"Sir... Sakshi may want to speak to me... instead of you... so it's better that I come..." Ayesha convinced Arjun...
"And yes... so I will come as well... yeh baat samjhe ya samjhaaun Arjun?" Sameer snapped at him...
"Flight is in 4 hours... go and pack stuff..." Sameer instructed...
"Nahi... main seedha Airport javunga..." Arjun said...
"Isse flight jald hi nahi aani waali hai... just pack some clothing and stuff ok? And ya... I do have questions pending..." Sameer said and went towards home...
As Arjun was dropped into his home he looked at the messed up house... glasses broken... flower pots broken... water thrown on the floor.. her bracelet on the floor.. broken into pieces... he could still hear her shouts on the walls... How dare you? I love you... her painful screams hit his ears...
Shoving his clothes into his bag he came across her phone... it was simple grey in color... exactly how her life was... he had entered into her life with a storm...
Before walking out of his home he looked at her picture... he missed this Sakshi... if she would only understand... that he too...
He snapped out of her memories when Sameer called him...
He looked at the picture in front again...
It was his mistake...
He shouldn't have thought like this...
But what else could he do?
He wanted her to have a better life...
He slowly walked towards the car... his heart thudding loudly...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sakshi looked at the slight snow that had started to fall... Srinagar... her hometown... she looked at the familiar pine trees... the chilly weather always rose her spirits... but this time... she felt cold... lonely... vulnerable..
Clutching her mangalsutra tightly in her hands she cursed what had happened... was it her mistake... that she couldn't make him believe that he was all that she wanted?
Her mistake... it was her mistake... maybe in an effort to keep him comfortable... she had distanced herself away from him... and he thought something else...
But still he didn't have any right to do that...
She wiped her tears away and boarded of the train as she reached the station...
"Bhai... ticket... woh Hari Parbat ke liye..." She asked and he passed her the ticket...
After paying cash she boarded the bus and finally reached the Hari Parbat... the temperature had dropped to 12 degrees... being dressed in a simple shirt and black leggings
... she felt every bone in her body chill to numbness... she dug into her bag to find something when a full sleeved faded black shirt came out...
She stared at the shirt for a few minutes...
It was his...
Walking towards a small clearing she sat on the grass... she clutched the shirt tightly... she dug her face into his shirt and smelt his fragrance... she started crying and wrapped his shirt around herself... and hugged herself tightly...
Silently crying... she wiped her tears off and knocked on the door.. "Sakshi?" a voice came...
"Nani..." Sakshi hiccuped and hugged her tightly...
"Naa meri bachchi..." Nani patted her head softly...
"Jaa... sone chale jaa... baad main baat karenge..." she said and softly patted her grandchild to sleep...
"Woh...woh.." Sakshi started...
"Shush... nahi.. kuch nahi... mujhe kuch nahi jaanna... bas ab so ja...mera shona Tikli..." She lulled Sakshi to sleep as she hugged her tightly... the other reason why she loved her so much...
Her Nani never asked questions... for her the main thing was that her baby should stop crying...
Planting a kiss on her forehead she left and took slow steps to the kitchen... Sakshi's grandmother was just like her... slightly taller... she had a lean regal figure... wearing a simple blue saree and a deep blue shawl around her... silver rimmed glasses perched on her nose... in spite of being well in her 60's only few parts of her hair had aged white... rest all was jet black...
Wisdom was her key note... she spoke less... listened more...
She had been there when her Tikli... yup... Sakshi had always been Tikli for her.. her Nani called her as the most precious maang tika it had...
