Chapter 8

Geet wiped her tears, her heart breaking down as she realized she was ...losing her career in all of this...she just couldn't continue with this...it involved so much of emotions...

She quickly booked up her train ticket, to Mumbai; luckily her father had sent money to her card recently...thank the heavens...

However it did arouse a bit of suspicion, why was he being so silent, by now he would have sent a lot of visitors she thought bitterly. No, she should not think about him now...she just have to go away from here, yes that's it.

She continued on with classes for the rest of the day, lifelessly...her head still throbbing...her body temperature still raised a bit and each time she moved her eyes around, she saw Maan staring at her with an undecipherable emotion. It scared her, but strangely soothed her too. It was overwhelming.

Finally, she sighed as the last class ended...and so did her time period at her dream college. Hopelessly she trudged around, slowly dragging her feet out of the college entrance gate...remembering all that has transpired since she had been in Delhi. The experience has been so exciting, and thrilling...and heart breaking too. She would miss it, all of it... Sam, Rose, Serry and most of all...Maan. She was sure, she would never meet any such character in life like Maan. Her eyes filled up, as she realized how caring he had been when she was ill. Well it was all because of him though, she chuckled absent-mindedly.

As she moved out, she saw the gang waiting for her...unaware that she was leaving...literally! Her eyebrows furrowed when Maan whispered something in Serry's ear and ran off. Surely going to that mini skirt bimbo standing nearby, Geet scoffed. Whatever! She didn't care, she tried to convince her vulnerable heart. However curiosity got the best of her, as she stared back at the girl to find none. Maan wasn't there, and neither was the girl. Geet turned away, sighing sadly and colliding into a tough frame. His heat engulfed and the deep baritone unmistakeable. Maan...

"Where are you going, Geet?" He whispered gravely, turning to glance at the gang. They were chatting amongst them...

So the gang was unaware of her leaving...except Maan.

"Home..."She replied cryptically, as she walked away. Maan followed her.

"When are you going to tell them?" Maan asked angrily. How could she just leave them like that.

Geet hoped he shouldn't know about her leaving, "What kind of question is that? They will know when they reach there...I am going to the flat..." She trailed off.

He gripped her arm tightly and pulled her to face him, "You are leaving Delhi?" He asked with a strained voice. Geet was shocked, how did he know...she didn't tell anyone. Hopefully he wasn't stalking her...

"Are you stalking-"

"Don't you dare lie to me or change the subject Geet..." He nearly screamed at her. She struggled against him, pulled her body away from his firm grip. However Maan held his ground and refused to budge off. Geet turned forcefully, her glasses fell off and her ankle twisted. She let out a shriek of pain, leaning on Maan for support. Maan smirked down at her closed eyes, "Seems like fate doesn't want you to leave, cutie"

She glared at him, murderously and spat "Seems God is telling me every second being with you is an utterly wrong decision on my part" She pushed him away, hard. Dragging her leg, her face contorting in pain, she walked away; her head held high. Maan stood there dumb-struck, his jaw slackened at her stubbornness.

God! She is so so stubborn...he gritted his teeth.

"Come on let's have a last lunch together, cutie before you...leave" He grinned at her widely picking her limping form in his arms.

"What the hell are you doing Maan, put me down this instant!" Geet panicked, her train was scheduled in an hour. She had to reach her flat soon, to pack her things up. And this Maan...God! He is so infuriating.

"Nothing and no..." He said pecking her cheek, his lips slightly brushing the corner of her lips. Geet stilled in shock...and the fact he kissed her again. She was very very stunned while Maan walked both of them towards his new car. Geet gasped when Maan slid her to the ground, her back pressing to the hood of the car. Geet sighed angrily at his audacity, "Just...take me back to my flat, Maan" She hissed.

"Technically the flat is not your's, it is of Sam and Rose and you, together" Maan said naughtily clasping his hands at together'.

Oh yeah Sam, now...

"I just want to pack my bags and leave this godforsaken place" She screamed at him, growling angrily, lividly. Even Maan stepped back a bit with her roar, she was scary when livid...it was nothing compared to what he saw after his pranks.

He had to think of something...he can't let her go...or let her make a wrong decision. Her career was at stake, she shouldn't risk it like that, just for...her insecurity, yeah! He again stared at her limping form, her backside, the sway of her hips even while limping seemed so cute and sexy. He...

He shook away his wayward thoughts, running after her again..."Cutie" He screamed at the middle of the road. People stopped, watching their spicy interaction. "You are hurt...you can't walk that long" He schooled his face into a mask of worry, inside he was dancing...he just had to delay her enough so that her train misses. Geet looked at him, trying to read if he was genuine or not. Truly her leg was paining like hell, Maan was right she thought.

"Come on now get in my car, I will drive you to your' flat" He said giving a half smile. Now Geet started feeling a bit guilty, he was just being genuine in asking her for a lunch and she so vehemently denied rude of her!

Geet stood there contemplating what to do... Sighing she interlaced her fingers with Maan's outstretched fingers as he lifted her up in his arms and walking back to the car.

They had been moving around the city for about 50 minutes in search of Maan's favourite diner for their "last" lunch.

"If you don't know where it is, then just drop me at the station" Geet said, exasperated. She had been trying to be patient but Maan delaying her, her patience was being stretched out thin. Maan glanced at her, smiling slyly at his brilliant plan. "Don't overreact Geet, I am sure it isn't even that long as you are exaggerating it" He said, laughing a little. Geet flushed in anger, she just wanted to leave and here he is joking so freely.

"Stop the damn car!!" She shouted angrily, pulling her hand towards the door. Maan was horrified at her recklessness as she foolishly tried to step out of the moving car... He pulled her back, clasping her hand tightly, as he pressed his feet on the brakes hard. Immediately as the car came to a sudden halt, he pulled her out harshly as she stumbled a few times.

"Are you f***ing crazy?" He screamed, angrily... He didn't know what happened, but something snapped inside him at her careless move.

"I can do whatever I want, you cannot tell me; What I should do!!" She screamed equally, gritting her teeth. He was getting on her nerves now! She should have reached the station by now...

"I can and I will...You are not leaving, That's it!" He ordered her, his body pressing her to the car. He pinned her wrists with his calloused hands on the car. Geet stared at him dumbstruck, what the hell did he just say!

"I will...I will leave and forget anything and everything related to you" She bit out, staring deeply into his deep brown eyes. "Everything..." She whispered, as a tear rolled down her right cheek.

Maan's face contorted angrily for something he couldn't understand, a sudden pang formed in his chest at her words, that confused him and almost made tears well in her eyes as he stepped closer to her tightening his grip around her wrists, she whimpered and his eyes focused on her lips...her rosy red lips, devoid of any colour. His head shifted closer, his eyes flickering from her lips to her amber eyes and back to her lips...

She closed her eyes and allowing her tears to escape. "I need to leave Maan..." She whispered, sadly

"Cutie" He whispered, his hot breath falling on her lips. Yes, he was that close...

"I need to-" And his lips clamped down on hers. His hands slipped from her wrists to her silky black mass of hair, as his lips coaxed her into submission. His tongue entangled with hers, duelling passionately...giving a start to the unknown feelings brewing inside both of them. Geet stood stock still at the new invasion, she never felt so much of passion...

Maan boldly took her numb fingers, their lips still in contact and wrapped her hands around his neck, pulling her closer than possible. His hand caressed her cheek angling her mouth to meet his, his raving passion.

Geet cautiously pulled at his hairs at the nape, slowly losing herself in him...

His lips again wrapped around hers after she came up for air, oh he was enjoying it! His hands fingering at the strap of her dress and she stood still! What was she doing! Kissing him? She gasped in horror pulling away like he was diseased. Maan still in very happy mood... "That was amazing..." He grinned foolishly. Geet slapped him hard, "How dare you, you b****d!!" her hand leaving a very visible imprint on his cheek. Maan stared at her shocked as she strutted away, getting away from his infuriating self... How could she be so shameless to kiss him back! It is so...disgusting, she tried to convince herself...No, she should just leave...just away...far away from him. She got in the driver seat as Maan stared at her again in shock. Today was really shocking day for him, he got in the passenger seat, seat belts long forgotten.

"Get out!" Geet bit out glaring murderously, turning on the ignition.

"It is my car Geet, do you know..." He glanced at her legs at the accelerator pedal. "Please let's get out of here Geet... you are too angry... unstable to drive...and" He winced at the thought "it's my new car... You will damage-"

"I don't care" She said angrily, frustrated and pressed the pedal hard. Truthfully she actually took some driving lessons but she didn't pass her driving test.

The car jerked forward, pacing speedily...as they passed the lonely area... Maan stared at her in indecision, "Geet you should...slow it down" He whispered, scared now... She is too angry to listen to him, he knew.. " a bit" He added seeing her glaring down at him.

Their eye contact was broken by a horn, and a car moving around the road recklessly. The person was honking yet not slowing down as if deliberately speeding up, not a case of brake-fail though, it seemed.

Geet looked on scared, what had she done... Geet panicked as Maan shouted, "Press the brakes GEET". She pressed on the brakes hard but it was a second too late as Maan covered her body with his and Geet covered her hands around his head how much she could as the glasses smashed raining on them as the car smashed to their front. Maan's car spun around due to the force of the hit as both bodies swayed, their bodies pierced by glass pieces on any place available.

And then everything went black.
