really?! DAK is going to be Pardes on the telly tube?!
I have an issue with that - I mean no disrespect to members here and these are just my thoughts on the matter.
DAK has scratched the surface of a very pressing social issue - domestic violence.
I really wanted to see this show serve as an inspiration to countless women who chose to suffer in silence rather than opting to speaking out and fighting for their rights or just standing up for themselves.
By showing Ishaan coming back and Urmi and Ishaan falling in love and Ishaan rescuing Urmi (how many times has that been done on screen?!) Granted Urmi is portrayed to be a follower - she's the kind of person who knows what is right and wrong but when it comes to fighting for herself she needs someone to push her. She already had Trisha and Tauji and now apparently a new NRI friend is set to make an entry - that's all dandy but really we're moving away from the concept.
What ever the catalyst (Trisha/Tauji/NRI friend/Ishaan) who ever she needs to prod her to do the correct thing - I want to see her going through a transition - where she realizes the only person she can ALWAYS count on is herself - everyone else is there but only to a point - at some point you have to take ownership of your actions and really take it up on yourself to figure out what is right for you and take steps to get there.
Ishaan/Urmi love story - thats just glossing over the issue - what message would that send - sure you can have a rough life but a good guy will come along and rescue you and everything will be better. Reality is far removed.
I don't mind if Ishaan comes back and helps Urmi by unmasking Samrat or gathering proofs against him (Ishaan did have a hand in this mess after all - him hiding the truth about Samrat and covering up for him all count towards this mess) if he helps her as a friend im good with that but i really don't want to see a love story.
What i do want is to see Urmi finding her inner strength and courage and taking steps to better her life and not live in fear of Samrat - just like she went and filed the complaint - she has a long way to go - its not about teaching Samrat a lesson or getting him to change - its about Urmi knowing who she married and making a decision even if that means going against family/having no moral support and all that - that would be a good inspirational story.
