If it was that scripted, he would be getting full points or close to full points in every one of his dances since they have really been different each time. His best acts did not get him full scores like har kisi ko he deserved that one as wel as tapori one where it was flawless and unique. Considering how the judges dole out 30s , he should get those right? And what was that last week ? 24?

But the fun factor seeti maroo performances are what get the points specially from kjo who cannot dance for the life of him and remo who cares what he knows about technical dances eastern or western. And yes I am trained in Indian classical styles and western and see a lot of luke warm fusions in the name of semi classical , contempo Indian etc etc.

Btw what is a semiclassical vocab or definition ?who defines it? Yes wikipedia has descripotions but who are the experts ? Its just an easy way to engage light weight students of classical who dont want to put in full effort in learning or the rigor of performing the original in the name of creativity innovation etc etc. Purist at heart myself each disciplined style is unique, this act was no worse than other that go for semi classical, they chose a song that doesn't fit well in the classical vocab trying to impress the siti maro judges so he should have got probably 29 for uniqueness of trying semi classical on a folksy chalu song. He executed fine .He has some issues with straight back and feet turnout but he doesnt deserve any less. HV seen worse from so called semi classical dancers.
Being a purist dancer is why I don't watch shows like these just this season.

I completely agree w/Kalin. Firstly I would like to state that in most dance shows what they actually present is some sort of fusion dance. Secondly, who decides how semi is the semi classical really? Those of u that wanted Ashish to perform a pure semi classical dance (whatever that means) please tell me how long did it / would it take u to learn this dance form (classical / semi classical) ? First of all he's a non dancer & secondly he's learnt what he showcased in just a week's time! I thought he was absolutely brilliant. I completely agree w/you that he's getting a step child treatment by the judges even after his terrific performances week after week. He gets great reviews & most of the time he doesn't get any tips about his shortfalls either but when it's time to reveal the scores, he always ends up getting less. Wy is that?

I thought he was brilliant in 'hair kisi ko', samba dance & even the rose & thorn theme. I thought he got much less than he deserved. In the pungi song he deserved either a 29 or 30, no less... Even for the paso doble act he definitely deserved more than just 24! So tithe concept was not clear to the judges (Karan to be specific) initially when they started off... But the dance was executed beautifully. For that they could have deducted a couple of points but 6 points!!! That's totally unfair.

Jhalak as I understand it is a journey of how much you can improve and learn during your journey. So I believe there is very little scope for real dancers to enhance their skills as they have already reached the saturation point. Whereas for the non dancers the gates are wide open. I sincerely wish one of the non dancers would lift the jhalak trophy. Being a Ashish fan I wish for him to win this trophy from the bottom of my heart!!!😊

I just thought his performance was very " thanda" .. Shampa didn't choreograph it nice! I liked his other performances before but this was... And it didn't look like semi - classical, it looked like
" semi Bollywood" lol I don't even know what it means.. I'm sure Remo will approve the name!

all other performances of Ashish except the cooking experiment n pungi dance were ok for me..he did nice being a non dancer..
but the semiclassical performance was a big let down..n shampa is to be blamed..i feel that performance of his was overrated.
