Take 5: Top 5 countdown thread for week of August 4th; updated 8/4

Haila! You must be wondering how I did a take 5 before the episode is done. 😲😆

I cannot do daily threads any longer but I thought it would be fun to have a weekly discussion thread as we try to decipher what the CVs are up to

So, I will start off with the current state of affairs"Golmaal hai sab gol maal hai" ... 😆

Let's see what is the current state of affairs movie song style ... player by player (italics are the English translations):

(1) Jalal is back with a bang singing "Bachna hein haseenon, lo mein aagaya" with his smirks, mysterious smiles, and gazes ... Looking at who? Atifa 😲 Jalal, if only you knew your demand on this forum! 😆

Now, only time will tell what the CVs will make Jalal sing:

"Baazigar mein baazigar"

Or

"Hum bewafaa harkis na the par hum wafaa kar na sakhe" 😭

(2) Atifa continues to be a puzzling one. While her eyes and voice are telling Jalal "Aao huzoor tumko sitaron mein le chaloon" ... 😉

Her character continues to be mysterious as her husband and the CVs sing along

"Parde mein rehne do parda na uthao, parda jo uth gaya tho bes lhul jaayega" 😆

(3) Khaiber: He is obsessed with Jodha ... A la SRK in Darr.

He must be singing "Jadoo teri nazar, khushboo tera badan. To haan kar, ya na kar ... Tu hein meri Jodha"

If he could talk he would say, I love you JJJhoda. 😆

(4) Jodha with her new-found nazakhat is trying to get Jalal as close to her as possible "Bahon mein chale aaon ... Hum se sanam kya parda" 😳

But from the same movie Anamika, she will be singing "Logon na maaro isse" for Khaiber 😉

And to add to the mess, we have a Rajvashi woman saying "mein Sasural nahin jaoongi" and Jodha has to help her. 😆

(5) Us the audience: Finally, us the viewer need to sing "Om Shaanti Om." 😆 To patiently wait to see what the CVs are up to.

But, in the end of the day, Jodha's soul is not talking to Khaiber's and Jalal's soul is not talking to Atifa's, so all's well that end's well 😆

Update for Monday 8/4:


Okay finally watched the episode ... my take is either he is completely under control of the situation or completely under a spell ... Leaning towards the former as he says he is helpless but completely conscious of what he is doing.

Here is what I observed:
- I don't see any guilt in his scenes with Jodha- only seriousness
- His words to Jodha that "You want me to be a better husband, right?" hints that he wants to be better as a husband ... so doing this to protect them
- He understands he is being unfair to Jodha and doing a sin ... so either it is a plan or he really does lose control when he hears her singing ... but how can you lose control when you are conscious of it? Hence, he seems to be contradicting himself.
- Atifa is clearly not as innocent as she looks- both in hinting she likes outside nature and the mirror scene
- Why is Jalal trying so hard to impress someone? If he wants someone, he can just get her. Why is he trying so hard? He didn't even try so hard with Jodha 😆
- Did anyone else notice- he asked Atifa to remove her veil but did not show any interest in seeing her face ... wouldn't he have stared otherwise?

How is that for investigation skills? 😉😆

I have to say this to Maha Chuchak - Well played lady well played. Having, basically sent quite a few assassins from her palace, she zeroed-in on the perfect one.

1. Beautiful - In Jalaal's eyes.

2. Singer - I guess she knows of Jalaal's liking for artistes.

3. Troubled - She also knew of Jalaal's soft-corner for women in trouble, how he resolves domestic issues in Diwan-e-Aam. And his own disregard for rules, he changed the age-old child marriage rule. And he does stand up for women's rights. He didn't mind getting beaten for a widow in Mathura.

And I still can't guess if Jalaal knows her secret or not. If indeed he does, he's playing a dangerous game here, by having Atgah, Jodha two of his strongest supporters misunderstand him...

His overall behaviour, was puzzling, when he was alone, he was all serious and thoughtful, but in front of others, cheerful, and flirty. It's as if he's testing people if they were buying it. For example, in his hojra, when he saw Jodha, staring at Atifa's portrait. And after she went away, he was looking at the portrait in not all mohobbatwaala way. ⭐️

Now Atifa was in her flirty best as well, praising him for his handiwork with spear, and later giving a body-lotion advertisement-type stripping in her khema...😆

Waise, soldiers were rather chatty today...😆

Shareef-ud-din so dutiful, difficult to digest. But, they must have indeed conducted surprise checks those days, to keep those guards from lazing around. Bechaara, I could almost read his mind when he was staring at that rat-hole-by-Khy's-standards-type surang, "Sheeesh, there's a secret tunnel, I would have escaped to my beloved Jodha's room, instead of giving her info on Benazir., Jallu ko Ben off karti, aur main Jodha ke saath ... One stone two birds..."

And yes, Jalaal's words, that he should have been with Jodha right now, perhaps meant something?

Seriously, RT ke liye turbans lao please, he's lost so much weight, especially in his face, that with those huge turbans, he looks like a mushroom. 😆

Kya gaane hain, but, Khy's song would be, "Eeyaa aaah aaah eeya..." 😆

Did you see his expression in the last scene? Pure SKLL...😆

Now Jodha's dream revealed that she's indeed disturbed by Jalaal's proximity to Atifa, now what needs to be seen, is how would she react? Ameri Mirchi style or, aap to shahensha hain, aap... style... 🤔

Tansen dude needs some more songs what say? Pata hai, maine kaha tha, prem ras is a nice song, par use itna serious le liya CVs???? 😆
