The original thought of Rudra dying instead of Parvati was from FairyLiquidSoap and Ashish playing a bubbly youngster and a new character.
I am just adding my take on it.
I didn't want anyone to die though but if it was important for RR to have a leap and one of the leads had to die; I feel it would have made more sense to kill Rudra than Parvati. Here is why.
- Rudra to Parvati was always a Rakshak, a protector. It would have been in line with Rudra to die protecting Parvati and his kid.
- It would have been interesting to see Parvati dealing with her inner demons for a change. E.G. whomsoever she gets married to dies or gets murdered.
- Parvati has been shown as someone who rose above her grief and wounds. If Rudra were to die, she wouldn't have closed herself off like Rudra might (as per current scenario) and may have opened to a possibility of love later in her life. I don't want the stereotypical take on how a woman needs a man in her life. But yes, a chance for love to blossom.
- I would have loved to see Ashish in a breezy (not cheesy!) avatar bonding with Parvati's son and bringing the smiling Parvati back. Ashish's new character could have later developed into a deep, caring, emotionally mature guy who understands the space that Paro comes from and falls deeply in love with her.
- In short- I can see how a TV version of the old movie Kati Patang could have played out! It would have been a refreshing change of seeing Ashish and Sanaya in completely different avatars. For now it is the same old stuff: brooding, stonehearted Rudra and a breezy girl. We know Sanaya can pull off Myra well but it would have been creatively challenging to see Parvati in a different set up!
