All through the week, the media went berserk reporting about how there was a clash between two titans - Amitabh Bachchan in JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM and Rajnikanth in the Tamil film, SIVAJI - THE BOSS. Whether it was the newspapers or satellite channels, the story was everywhere. But is it really a clash?

No! Firstly, the main market for Tamil films is Tamil Nadu, where Hindi films have a limited release. And Tamil films are released with a few prints in circuits other than Tamil Nadu.

Agreed, SIVAJI - THE BOSS is a very prestigious (and expensive) film for Rajnikanth and is, therefore, being simultaneously released in Bombay (in fifteen cinemas), but how do 15 prints of SIVAJI in Bombay city and suburbs (including Thane) compare with 75 prints of JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM? Secondly, Amitabh plays a special appearance in JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM (he is seen in just one song), whereas Rajni is the central character in SIVAJI.

first of all Sivaji is not being released only in TN,it was released all over the world ( 700 preints and above worldwide), yes only 15 prints in Mumbai but thats coz Sivaji is a tamil movie and not Hindi. I could ask the same, how many prints of jhoom barabar jhoom is being released in TN.

I have personally seen the rushes in USA , its was sold out the first weekend and the price of each ticket was 21-25$ ( highest ever) and still it was sold out.

same was the story in aus,NZ, bahrain,Malaysia , all over .

yes AB came in just the song or maybe it was a guest appearance but thats not what the trailer projected when it was shown all across the channels. They showed as if AB was an integral part of the movie.

anyway the box office would speak for itself.I just wanted to point the facts thats all . BTW sivaji is the most expensive movie made on a whopping budget of 80 crores and Rajini got almost 20+ (2nd highest in asia behind jackie chan)

BO figures will reveal more but the public seems to have already decided that they prefer Sivaji over JBJ and really the two men being in competition was media created as JBJ is not really Amitji's movie, he has a guest appearance.

i hope sivaji will be dubbed in hindi. i will definately going to watch the movie then. 😳 JBJ was expected. Promos were so bad, Abhishek and Preity were overacting and it sounded so fake. I hope preity chooses her movies wisely. She is a excellent actress, don't know why she wasting her talent on horrible movies 😕

I hope you do , see Sivaji doesnt claim to be different or a movie with a good storyline, its more watched coz of Rajini's style and punch dialogues so we know what to expect when we go inside the theatre.

The best part of watching the full house theatre is the experience, the celebration , its more likea festival than watching a movie. The atmoshere is electric and its not the masses we are not talking here, masses,classes , upclass ,lowclass everyone just lets themseleves go when watching his movie.

I dont like movies which proclaim to be different and good storyline when there is none.

yes and u are right, it was the media who started the AB vs Rajini clash but AB was just a guest appearance and thank god otherwise people would have picked on him too after its disaster.

and abt Preity well apart from her first movie, Kya kehna and Dil se her debut , none of the other movies impresses us. She is doing the same kind of mvies
