The charming and immensely popular Vatsal Seth, better known as Shaurya' from Star Plus's Ek Hasina Thi, talks to urlremoved about his experiences on this new show, and lots more!
So how does it feel playing Bad Boy' Shaurya on screen? Have you managed to fit in well with your character image?
Well, I am actually enjoying playing Bad Boy Shaurya, on screen! The response to my character has also somehow been pretty good, as people have accepted this bad boy! What I feel is, Playing Bad is currently the new Good. People watching these shows have slowly over time changed their perceptions. As far as I have recently seen, people have moved on from the goody-two-shoes characters and are now enjoying watching the New Bad' on screen! So yes, I am pretty much enjoying it too. Though I have to admit, getting into the skin of Shaurya's cunning character in the beginning was kind of tough, as I don't really look like those mean type boys, but slowly as I worked on him, it became much easier. And now, Bad Boy' Shaurya, is killing it on screen!
The theme of Ek Hasina Thi is very different from regular shows, and has broken the clutter of normal show themes, so what are your thoughts on the same? And do you feel the Television Industry has now grown widely?
First of all, yes I would like to say that the Television Industry has definitely grown widely, and expanded it's reach to a much greater height! Show themes and concepts are moving way forward from just the regular saas-bahu one's, to lot's of action, thrillers, comedy and lot's more! This has become such a huge platform, that now everybody wants to be part of this industry, which is great! And coming to Ek Hasina Thi, this show's concept is totally different and a very very exciting one! It has just managed to break the clutter pretty well. Honestly, when Siddharth Sir first approached me for this show and character, I was very reluctant, as I never really watched too much TV earlier, and so my conception of tv shows was the emotional full on drama themed ones. So it was a definite no for me first, but after sitting down and properly hearing out the theme of Ek Hasina Thi, and what my character would be like, I thought differently! Maybe the show would work well, as the concept was definitely way different from what I usually saw TV shows as, so I went ahead and decided to give it a shot, and I am so so happy for doing the same! The awesome twists, turns and suspense this show is putting fourth is pretty exciting, which does seem to be working well with the audiences, and there definitely is going to be lots and lots more of the same, coming up!
How well does the entire cast of Ek Hasina Thi gel with each other? Could you share with us some fun moments off screen on set with the cast?
Ohh we are all pretty chilled out with each other! All of us infact gel really well, and have some good fun too off screen. Be it Sanjeeda (Durga), Simone (Sakshi), Ayub (Raj), Bhuvnesh (Dev), I get along with all of them! We are always in and out of each other's make up rooms chilling on set, eating our lunch and dinners together, gossiping during breaks and just having a good time. And trust me, that's why when shooting, we are all always in sync with each other, as the comfort level between us all has already been built well. Simone and Ayub are really cool and very chilled out! It's been a great experience working with them, as there has always been something to learn from them both, who are the most experienced actors from the lot. Sanjeeda and I too share a great rapport of screen. We are always having fun on set, and so shooting together has become so so easy! There were all these rumors being spread sometime ago about both of having fought on set, but nothing like that ever happened! (Laughs). When people don't get interesting news, they move onto all these stupid jhagde wagde rumors! Bhuvnesh and I didn't have too many scenes together earlier, but now we do and he's quite a chiller and fun guy. So yes, the cast of Ek Hasina Thi has already bonded of screen pretty well!
The Killer Selfie' which you took post Dev's assassination on screen a few ago received quite a good response from the viewers, so how does that feel?
Ohh yes, the Killer Selfie'! Actually did prove to be quite killer! (Laughs). Trust me it wasn't even planned! We were just shooting that scene as planned by the script, and I randomly took put my phone and clicked that selfie, and seeing that the team just decided to include it on the spot! Yes it did receive some great appreciation, and was actually taken well by the viewers, which feels so cool! I mean which killer in the world takes out his phone and clicks a selfie with the person he has killed!! But Shaurya does so! (Laughs). I'm glad it went down well the audiences, and a big thank you to them for the great response for the Killer Selfie'.
Anything exciting coming up for the Ek Hasina Thi viewers on the show?

And as you all know, the track, changes, twists and turns are all in the hands of the creative team, so they are the best people to answer this question. (Laughs). Though just stay tuned to keep up with all the suspense and exciting twists on the show, going to come up soon!
