The Mystery
His eyes were closed he was surrounded by the wonderful feeling of sleeping his warm bed , his soft bedsheet and somebody pouring cold water on his face ...what?? .He quickly sat up throwing his bedsheet to see KD standing near his bed with a empty glass .He looked at his wet pillow and bedsheet and then looked at KD asking him what? with his most confuse expression
"Sorry Ranveer I tried hard to wake you up normally , but you were too busy so..." said KD keeping the empty glass on the table and wearing his shirt .Ranveer gave a killing look to Piddi who was laughing madly. Samar came out of the bathroom
"Ranveer janab now you can take your..." said Samar wiping his head and then looked at wet Ranveer , empty glass, KD , Piddi and he understood what happened hiding his face in the cupboard he started laughing .
" yes Ranveer we all finish , now you can use the bathroom "said KD looking in the mirror .Ranveer went and stood beside KD facing him " do I still need a bath "he said water was dripping from his hairs and half of his body was wet "yes Ranveer "said KD .Ranveer grabbed his towel and went inside the bathroom slamming the door behind him .All three outside burst out laughing.
Kiya came out of the bathroom wearing her uniform which was a Royal red colour skirt above knee cream colour shirt and a red colour blazer .
"Kiya hurry up we are getting late for the breakfast "said Panchi filing books in her bag
Kiya stood in front of the mirror and moveda hairbrush through her hairs not disturbing her perfect curls and her red colour strip of hairs which gave her the 'Kiya look' after she finished Panchi made herself more cute by putting a white colour hair clip at one side .Juhi pushed a hairband backwards and again brought it at front producing a small puff looking in another mirror , Bobby tied her hairs in a pony tail with which she seemed quite happy but not with her uniform she liked boys uniform more which was a cream colour shirt and red full pants and red blazer .
On breakfast table Panchi was eating her sandwich with one hand and searching answer for Kiya's question with other hand in school calender
"Its 4th period before lunch break Kiya "said Panchi keeping the calendar in her bag
"Right after 4th period we have our lunch break great!! If Professor Banga's period go off then we will have 2 hours for lunch " said Kiya spreading butter on her bread.
Bell rang and everybody moved towards their classes . First period was Maths on second floor .Their Maths classroom was big for 40 students to sit comfortably , two rows were reserved for girls and two for boys .As all last benches were already occupied these four best friends had no other option than sitting on first two benches .Panchi and Juhi sat on first bench ,Kiya and Bobby sat on second behind them. Kiya was talking with Bobby when she saw those visions and heard some horrible shouting noise which made her heart pain again.She pressed her head with both her hands closing her eyes tightly . She realised a person's presence near her , automatically opening her eyes she started searching for the person because of whom she saw these visions before. Her eyes stopped blinking as the saw the boy with dark brown eyes sitting right beside her in boys row .He was holding his head tightly with both hands which indicated that the same thing happened with him.
"Kiya are you all right "asked Bobby
"Yes " said Kiya and again looked at that boy when Bobby got busy turning the pages of her book
He looked at Kiya and smiled , the smile which one gives to a close friend when meet him after years .Kiya gave him the same know smile .Both of them not knowing the reason behind that moment , that beautiful moment. However soon the fire inside them will show its colour.
Professor Elizabeth entered the classroom in full speed. She is always in hurry, God knows why.After realising teachers presence in class students stood up , whished her Good morning and sat down on her orders.
Elizabeth started writing something on the board after finishing turned to face her class "So Students , I am very happy to return back and teach you standing here and seeing your happy faces I am sure you are also delighted to see me " ("miss Elizabeth and her assumption" whispered Kiya in Bobby's ear) she said with a broad smile .After that she gave her common speech on 'Maths a Interesting Subject' for half of half an hour .
A peon walked inside taking Permission , told Elizabeth something on which she replied"ok I'll be there in 10 minutes" the peon went back. She again faced the students and said "let me clear the rust which has produced on your brains during this summer , I mean lets do some revision here's a problem for you all "pointing to the board showing them what she wrote before."I want to see who can solve this before I come back and I have high hopes with some people here " she said moving her eyes from KD 1st topper of last year and Panchi 2nd topper of last year. Everybody looked at them . Miss Elizabeth randomly choosing anyone pointed at Juhi " you and Samar come with me" Juhi who was playing with her hairs looked around hearing Samar's name and saw him walking behind miss Elizabeth out of the class .Juhi lost in her thoughts ran out of the class behind Elizabeth after Panchi signalling her to go. Juhi finally started walking after reaching beside Samar and behind Elizabeth . "Hi I am Samar "said Samar looking at Juhi who was looking at her legs which were busy walking fast to cope up with fast Elizabeth .Juhi looked at him and said "Oh...I am Juhi "again looked down .First time in her life she was having difficulty in TALKING with someone .They remained silent till professor Elizabeth lead them to Principles office .There are two office join together one is where all non teaching staff do important school work and other was Principles office Professor Elizabeth told Juhi and Samar to arrange some papers and went inside Principles office closing the door behind her.
"So Juhi mohotarma let's start " said taking some papers in his hand
" mohotarma??" Said Juhi looking at him confused
"Oh thats my style thats how a all my family members talk "said Samar
"Oh ..."said Juhi looking down and taking some papers .Samar felt like Juhi was having some problem with him or she had a special interest in continously staring at her black shoes .
"Why are you looking down ...looking at you I don't think you are a shy girl " said Samar as if no one else knows her better than him. Juhi looked at him straight in his eyes and she got the reason behind her nervousness , she never looked into his eyes while they were talking as a result she never saw a person she knows , which she saw now.It gave her a warm comforting feeling .She smiled. His heart jumped in his chest and he remembered Juhi smiling thousand times like this ...but they just met each other. Juhi was again back and started talking about all the unnecessary things she can .This didn't irritate Samar at all he listened to her and arranged all the papers alone as Juhi had important work called talking. He was listening to Juhi's story of how she got her first teddy bear when another voice caught his attention it was coming from principles office he signalled Juhi to stop and went near principles door hiding from other people present in office .Samar heard a familiar voice of miss Elizabeth "What happened Professor why did you called us here ?" she said
"Fate had started playing its game "he heard Ramanujam saying
"Sorry Professor I didn't understand ..." said Miss Elizabeth
"I and Professor Jaitely went to that classroom this morning and that thing there is shining" Samar heard Miss lucy saying .He remembered Professor Jaitely joined last year as a new teacher .
"Oh my God this means..." said miss Elizabeth .Samar tried to look inside from the key whole he saw horrified Elizabeth and tensed Lucy.Ramunujam was in deep thoughts and Samar was not able to see Professor Jaitely.
"Yes professor Elizabeth you are right now we have to be more careful , Miss lucy its your responsibility to see that no students should try to go there"said Ramanujam
"You don't worry about it Professor "assured Miss lucy
Panchi decided to solve the problem before KD.After running her mind fast she solved the problem and turned to see KD's progress and was shocked to see him sitting relaxed looking here and there .She failed to stop her tongue and asked "did you solved the problem" Kd realising that the question was asked to him said "oh...yes".Panchi frowned and closed her book furiously .Kd surprised with Panchi's behaviour ignored her and looked at the girl sitting behind him,Kiya. Kiya's hand was in her hairs and mouth was busy cursing the problem. " May I help you " asked KD .He was shocked by his own words , why I am I being so nice with a girl. He speaks very less with girls ." Thanks for asking but I can solve it on my own " lied Kiya. "Are you sure , I mean you solved it three times... and all your answers are wrong"said KD bending a little to look into her book.
"I was just trying to solve it in different ways "said Kiya hiding her book .KD smiled on Kiya's white lie making her angry.
"Why are you smiling ?" asked Kiya
"Why can't I smile "
Kiya glared at him and then whispered to Panchi
"Panchi please help me"
"C'mon Kiya try to do it yourself , first only your weak in Maths " said Panchi who was already annoyed by her defeat. KD smirked. Kiya glared at Panchi's black head and then at KD she was about to say something but Professor Elizabeth's entry stopped her.
Panchi headed towards the library, Kiya's whish was fulfilled and Professor Banga's period was off so Panchi decided to spend her one hour at her favourite place in whole school , library. Panchi entered the big library with a separate shelf for more than 100 topics with a banana grin .Librarian gave her a welcoming smile .Panchi went to the shelf of her favourite topic , History. She found some books related to school's history .She added one more book to the pile of 5 books when she heard some noises from the far end of the shelf .She tip toed there and found herself in a horrible situation , as the girl and boy who were about kiss looked at her Panchi turned clutching her books tightly near her chest and said sorry
"Sorry darling girlsjust don't leave me alone , I will meet you later in'The Hall' " Panchi heard the boy saying
"Ok baby"said the girl and went from there.
Panchi took some big steps to go from there but his words stoped her " hey wait " said that boy .Panchi turned to see him picking a paper which slipped from her pile of books. He gave her the paper Panchi took it and turned to go but again he stopped her "Hi I am Ranveer, Ranveer Shergirl" said Ranveer .Panchi turned and said "Hi...I am Panchi Rastogi". "So you like history ?"he asked looking at the pile she was holding and doing what he was good at starting conversation with any girl .He knew she was not like other , but how he also didn't knew.That was reason he wanted to talk with her .Another reason was he liked her eyes he thought they spoke with him. "Yes"Panchi replied looking in his eyes trying to solve the puzzle in his black eyes .Silence surrounded them words failed to fill the gap between them , eyes did it. Panchi broke the conversation of their eyes and said "I am ...sorry".
"For what"
"I disturbed you both there "said Panchi
"Oh don't feel sorry for that I was not going to kiss he really "said Ranveer smiling as if he was telling her a universal truth
"What??? This means you are cheating her how disgusting" said Panchi looking away
"No no actually she knew I was not going to kiss her I am not cheating on her "said Ranveer .Panchi gave him 'as if I trust you look 'and turned to go he again stopped her but this time by holding her hand .He can't let her think he was a total jerk .No but why is he so bothered what if she thinks that , what relation he has with her they just met some minutes before"look I was with many girls till now but I didn't anyone one of them and somewhere they knew it.I never hurt anyone , trust me. This is how I live from the day my parents leaved me alone in this world " he said. Panchi looked at Ranveer who was looking at a book carefully but thinking about something else which she knew. She looked into his eyes and the mystery of those black eyes was solved. She could see how he was crying inside hiding it with a smile, she trusted him.Ranveer realised what he just said and quickly looked at Panchi who was reading his eyes .He poured his out to a stranger , the walls around him were broken and she did it without saying anything.
"I am hungry , its time for lunch lets go " said Panchi.
' The Hall' was full with students in red and cream and their chatting. Panchi ran her eyes through the students and saw Juhi and Bobby sitting on a corner table with a BOY. Which Panchi quickly recognised as Ranveer's friend Samar.She lead Ranveer to the table and introduced him to Bobby and Juhi .Juhi introduced Samar to Panchi after Ranveer gave a hi5 to Samar .
"I am glad to meet you Panchi Mohotarma "said Samar.Panchi , surprised by Samar's style said " Oh...I am also happy to meet you Samar" pulling a chair beside him. Ranveer saw Piddi and KD searching for themwith overloaded plates waved his hand and signalled them to come there. Ranveer introduced KD and Piddi to all three girls.Panchi said sorry to KD for her behaviour in class. After some time Kiya arrived lost in her thoughts , so lost that at first she didn't noticed the presence of new people but was glad to meet everyone afterwards except KD she still felt strange vibes seeing him.Panchi asked her 100s of questions about where she spent her one hour but Kiya didn't replied. After that lunch Bobby stopped glaring at Piddi and to others surprise they talked and fought with each other as if they are some long lost best friends. Panchi and KD built a great bond and talked about all the topics which went above others head.Ranveer and Kiya had a great time talking as both were unlucky in family matters. Only the silence and fire between Kiya and KD remained the same.Everyone was surprised on their speed of mixing with each other , everybody new the little things that the other want without speaking , today they experienced the joy of meeting old friends.
"KD janab I want to talk with you " said Samar pulling a chair beside KD's bed ,"yes" said KD turning the page of his book ."today I heard Principal , Professor Lucy , Elizabeth and new Professor Jaitely talking about one of those empty class room on third floor .They were saying that something is shining again, Fate had started playing its game..."said Samar ."what does all this means ?"asked KD looking up at Samar
"I have no idea" said Samar
"Before lunch I and Samar went on third floor to find out , but whenever we went professor Lucy was constantly keeping a watch there"said Piddi sitting on KD's bed folding his legs.
"Why is professor Lucy keeping watch on those classroom"asked KD
"Principal told her to do...I think there is something very important there" said Samar
"Ok ...so what do you want from me? " asked KD
"Well ...its ...just ...that..."said Samar trying to form a sentence which will convince KD.
"Samar point " ordered KD
"Help to find out what's inside there "said Samar in one breath .After a small pause KD gave an expected answer "No"
"KD bhai just tell us what to do and leave everything on us"
" No Piddi , I don't understand why are you both so interested in breaking rules" said KD keeping his book and going to sleep announcing his final decision.
Ranveer looked at his friends who were fast asleep n wondered where his precious sleep is gone. He got up and went near the window to see a clear black sky with a white moon and the school building everything was still except a person walking on the ground towards the side door of the school .Ranveer searched for his binoculars and found them in Samar drawer .He again looked through the Binoculars and recognised the person as Kiya.
