Isnt the playback thing is odd i mean its only a concept in india no where in the world and actor need to lypsinging the voice of someother person voice for instance if in america Nichole kidman sings so she sings as well as act on it.. they dont cheat that is why their muscians are more respected for their work and considered larger then life as they have their seprate music industry and identity whats your opinion their actor doesnt need to depend on playback singers and vice versa :)

Because no where else in the world do they have song and dance routines, which require music and singing. Obviously, actors can't make their own songs, which is why they require composers and singers.

to the same issue their has been a cold war between amir khan and javid akhtar amir khan said its actors face who make any song popular lyricst singers dont have much to do with it, recently journalist rajeev masand told about salman that he think the same so its like degrading the Musicains and making them inferior creature i guess in west singers have equal star power then someone like tom cruse or lenardio because they are not depenedend on each other and one can not claim the success of the song in either way there films have no music and if it is so actor himself sing and there singers doesnt need cinema to survive... In india bollywood film music have killed their indepenedet private music industry which was growing in late 90' in time of Falguni Patak, Alisha Chinow, Sonu Nigam even Sonu's "Dewanaa" album meet unparallel success as said by Bhusan Kumar... Because 99 percent of Bollywood films have music in them when compared to less than 5 percent musicals in Hollywood. So when the directors in America decide to do a musical they will pick an actor that can sing. But it's difficult to do that for Bollywood because every film is a musical and but only limited number of actors who can sing.
