"I Have Become A Joke For Everybody!" - Salman's Take On The Tiff With Media

Superstar Salman Khan is not just an actor, for his fans he is a magician who transports them into a space that is intrinsically larger than life and essentially great fun. In an interview with Koimoi, Salman explained how his genre of films is a reflection of what he likes doing. He said, "Whatever I do is my hobby. I like doing it. I do it for my living, it's my rush, it's my doze of kick!"

Clearly Khan's commitment towards his work is evident but the actor could not help making it evident his displeasure about the recent rift with photographers at the launch of his Devil Song at a plush Bandra club recently. Speaking of it, Khan said, " Media is a mode of conveying a side of me to my fans. Journalists should just ask me on my face, what they want of me. Don't waste my time. Just tell me what are you trying to put, what type of an article you want to put about me. I have become a joke. This is not journalism anymore. This is entertainment."

Salman is still recuperating from the tiff with the media recently, and has constantly been hounded by questions about what happened. Salman doesn't think very high of the present bureaucratic business model of media that will stoop to any level to get stories. He said, "Journalists have no social responsibility these days. Everything is about TRP. This is our fault as actors and stars that we are letting it happen. It is the fault of people who are so used to reading bullshit."

At the night of the song launch, apparently the actor could have diffused what followed but whatever he said added more fuel to the fire. Khan explained, "Why should I step in. I did step in to say whoever wants to stay, other leave. What more stepping in should I do. That's not my job! It's between the club's bodyguards who were going to handle this. I am a star, I have come to get myself clicked. There is no way that they can ban me! It's their choice to not take pictures and I would be more than happy if the whole fraternity agrees on not taking pictures. I would be really happy. I hope they can survive and atleast there are some people who have taken a stand. Leave aside right and wrong! Even I am at a loss but they are at a definite loss. I will be hats off! Even at Baba Siddiqui's event, people were climbing over everybody. They were getting aggressive, rough! It is not at all cool. Photographers get physically aggressive and hence there are fewer women photographers. If I was not there, and had they behaved so badly with the club's guards just imagine what would have happened to them. Because we are there, their hands are tied. You are on a private property, where you have been invited. Such behavior is uncalled for."

Concluding it all, he added, "Why come so close when you have long lenses. You can shoot from 30 feet away. Photographers feel we cannot do without them and we are because of them, then that has to be checked! The whole photo session should not take more than 3 minutes but they wait to get one aggressive picture and create such an atmosphere. They are often the most cruelest, meanest people."

Salman is all set to star in his next film Kick alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, Nawazuddin Siddqiui andRandeep Hooda in lead roles. The film will release this Friday.
