Chapter-37:

Arjun took a seat beside me and asked,
"Shree, what we got at the airport?"
I eyed him as though he was insane.
'What's he doing? Why should he ask confidential matters in front of a suspect?"
"Sir-" I hesitated.
"It's ok, Shree. Tell me!" he encouraged.
"To be frank, we got nothing still. We got nothing to precede sir!"
I was answering him, but he was observing the smiling face of the suspect, instead.
To my surprise, he too smiled back at him .
He started talking to him, "We can help you, if you do the same for us!"
"What's it, a brilliant move, I think?" the man appreciated.
"Let me tell you back so!"
'Why are they scratching each other's back?'
I thought and was fuming in anger.
"If you are ready, I'll see what I can do!"
Arjun offered this time omitting us.
"Do I really look like a fool?"
'If he wasn't interested, he wouldn't have asked,' I thought, 'In the first place!'
Arjun did not reply, but was keenly observing the suspect.
"Do you really think, I'll fall for that?", the man said.
"No, not really," he denied at once, "I wanted to say that it was brilliant, that's all." He backed away immediately.
"And you made your point well, I must say!"
"Well, I know you were waiting for this moment sooner or later and of course one way or the other. Correct me here if I miss any minute point."
"You are doing well, I think, until now!"
They had been starting to talk in riddles, we got at last.
"Right, if you don't have names, it's all right, and only if you don't know any, that is!"
"So you don't need names, I gather?" he said unperturbedly.
"Let me stop beating around the bush first. What's the game?"
The beard man raised an eyebrow, "I wonder what I should tell you!"
"Anything, nearly anything, from your conscience or you can call it as your plan, tell me now, I'm open even for fantasies!"
Arjun volunteered and leaned against the chair to sit comfortably.
"Why should I?"
"No, I just thought you would."
"Wrong guess."
"I know guesses may go wrong sometimes," he stopped a moment and looked me once then turned to that fellow, "But you still can make them right, if you want, I hope!"
That fellow went silent then. It was a meaningful silence, Arjun surmised.
We were in a confused or perhaps perplexed state; whether it was still Arjun sitting inside the questioning room, for we could not understand or even accept what we were witnessing.
He was nearly soaping the suspect, who kidnapped one of his team members!
I looked Chottu, who seemed rooted to the floor, watching everything as I did, quietly.
It was another surprise for us, when that fellow started telling about something- some plans or some criminal issues, once Arjun finished the soaping or I wanted to say fishing, perhaps.
"The only thing I can say is there will be a shipment tonight!"
"I won't say it is information worth the risk you've taken! What do you say?"
Arjun inquired him back.
He knew as long as he could play with the suspect's ego he could make him talk.
"They are sending her to Dubai."
The situation had changed yet again and Arjun got the fellow where he wanted.
"Mm.. well, I don't think, I should follow this tip..."
Arjun seemed thinking it over.
The suspect got nervous for the first tome from the time of arrest.
"Why, they are still in the factory. I mean they should be," his manner changed yet again, "Even you can get a chance to see her there, if not packed already!"
He smiled.
Arjun hid a red behind his eyes and asked casually, "You say, you've seen her while kidnapped?"
"Oh, no! Why should I? I was busy in the task at hand," He winked.
He was mentioning Sakshi then.
"My guy said that they brought her in the van, two days back!"
"By any chance this girl's name is Dhanya?"
"I don't know names. I saw her in person while they followed her before the kidnap and is the one you published in yesterday's papers."
