Please DO NOT read this topic if you have not yet watched Ek Villain as this post contains huge spoilers that will take away from your experience. This is strictly for those who have viewed the film so do not hold me responsible for ruining it for you as I have given a warning.
On with the topic,

As much as I enjoyed the film, who else feels that the promo of "Awari" completely spoiled it for them? In my opinion Mohit Suri made a huge mistake by releasing the promo. In a way it was great as it evoked a lot of curiousity but because I viewed the promo before hand, there was zero suspense/thrill factor for me in the movie. The promo revealed Ritesh's ENTIRE back story and motive for committing the murders.

A few weeks ago a member created a thread titled "Ek Villain=LAME" and it read :

"What is Ek villain's story ?? A wife tortures his husband so he kills all the other women out there? How lame."

Here's the thread: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4059500

And I totally laughed it off thinking there must be more to the story, but no. That promo was a huge chunk of the movie's suspense factor.

What are your views, did you guys see the Awari promo before the viewing of the film ? Did it spoil the experience for you or did it not effect your experience? Do share.

Okay honestly I expected more from the film in respect to direction n story presentation. The actors were really good n story was gripping too but the narration had a lot to be desired for. And yes that promo did reveal a lot but at the same time it grabbed a lot of attention from viewers. So it's a positive for me.
In any case I loved everyone in the film but direction n narration needs improvement.

Sid M, Shraddha, Ritesh, Amna, KRK all were brilliant in their parts.

Not exactly torture but nags a lot. She's not happy with Ritesh n complains too much about everything. Amna was a star in playing her parts. I don't watch serials/soaps, this is the first time I watched her n I was very impressed with her acting talent. She was amazing.

Ahhh YellowFlower, it's so good to see you!😃 Both of our journeys that led to falling in love with Sid started with HTP.❤️ And of course, who could forget your love for Sallu Miyan?😆

I agree, I expected a lot more from the story, I thought it'd be more layered than it really was. Mohit presented it in a very stylized manner and the screen play was indeed gripping but just as you said, the narration left much to be desired.

On the acting front, every one was fantastic. Of course Siddharth and his brooding was just.Ritesh left a very strong impression. It was soo easy to go over the top with his character but he handled it perfectly. Fantastic performance. And Shraddha was such a cutie pie but her romance with wasn't developed right, Sid fell for her way too quick. Aamna was a friggin revelation, I've never watched her serials but she was fantastic! And lmaooo KRK used his favourite "2 Rupees person" dialogue HAHAHA smashing debut!

It's the first time I'm seeing someone whose more than glad to read spoilers.😆 Why is this the case? Are you not planning on watching the film? I recommend you watch it, it's very touching💔 :(

Ahh like YellowFlower mentioned, she doesn't torture but nags/humiliates him to the point where his self esteem is down in the dumps. The criticism he receives by women drives him to the point of psychosis. Aamna was such a Grade A bitch in the film, she played it so well that I came out hating her the most. Totally wasn't expecting that!

Alright so I've explored the review thread and it seems that there are people who agree with me that the trailer reveals waaay too much of the movie. I guess the makers didn't think the selling point of the movie is the suspense?

i agree they just ruined the whole film in the promos like i was watching it going ok whatever the only thing that shocked me was sulo's murder that was unexpected she might be a bitch to rakesh but she still didn't deserve to die for something she didn't do & she had the son but yeah i agree that they ruined it also it's ISTD rip off so it's already ruined enough for people who have the seen the film but it doesn't come close to that as the violence in that makes you scream this was dhoodh bina chai in comparison to that

I might be odd one out but I didn't get anything from promo's. Awari's promo didn't reveal Ritesh's back story to me atleast...

Yes the promos and trailer did give too much away about the film. Awari especially tells u about a big element of the movie that Rakesh tortures women because his wife treats him badly.
I don't know why the makers did not want to keep any suspense. I mean they give away that Aisha dies at the start of the movie in the trailer.
