after 10 viewings, conclusion, mardaani is just a good trailer nothing more. i am scared to view more, cos this good might turn into average or below average.

it has some good moments, and some moments simply, FLAT.

with title like this i was looking for something EXPLOSIVE, not GOOD.

my heart is starting to bleed at ...ahhh waht missed opportunity.

rani is a good actor. but good enough for mardaani??. my 10 viewing says ...NO.

its sad that adi snatched roti from vidya and pc's mouth and fed rani to make her mardaani.

dekhne seh its ok...she fits in with mardaani, but when she shoots the dialogues...she sounding like phata baas farhan.

pc showed how she can give ..am talking about her train scene in don. i got so worried there ..for a moment, i said to shah...babe just wrap up fast, kahin lene ka dena na padh jaye...pc was damn fine there.

and we all know ..vidya...the asli mardaani of bollywood...just imagine her in mardaani get up.

to make it more explosive, or more enticing they should have shaved off rani's head, made her teeth stained, placed a beedi in her mouth, also showed that this mardaani takes a couple of shots at work to get going, one small vodka bottle definitely needed in her pockets...its like when she enters the police station or walks on streets ..."akka department hill jaye" mardo ki bolti band ho jaaye ya kaho ki pant uttar jaaye"

i feel rani was given this mardaani not cos of her talent, but simply cos of her adi. but hey, i could be dead wrong here, i am eagerly waiting for this one, i hope rani wins me in and as MARDAANI.

PS...i cannot wait for mary kom to attack now...c'mon pc

I like the concept of the film but Rani sucks in the promos. She's too petite to carry out the role and like I said before, a towering female lead would have been more appropriate. The only reason Rani's in the film is because of her hubby. She's a pretty mediocre actress.

I cant see PC saying the last dialogue of the trailer the way rani did..i feel PC is too american or wanna be american to pull it off..i am glad she isnt in this one. Vidya for sure would have been amazing but i like rani in it..

Rani didn't impress me in the trailer, she reminded me of her No One Killed Jessica performance. If her performance in the film is anything close to NOKJ, it's not a good sign.

That being said, I think Rani is a better choice than Vidya or PC for a role like this. Vidya comes across as feminine and delicate, Priyanka would have been good for the action scenes but would look like a model not a cop in the other scenes. Rani has more of a rugged, non-glamorous look. Plus, she is short, a bit overweight, fits the look well.

That is an obvious fact. 😆😆 I doubt that other production houses would have signed her up.

yankee...i don't mind peitite...size doesn't matter, they can do wonders..but this mardaani sure lacks the punch , at least in the trailers.

movies/roles like these are hard to comeby for bollywood actresses. like i said, i am going to see the movie and hope rani wins me.

it will be pretty sad if she comes as a half baked mardaani.

she better not disappoint.

Petite in the sense that she can't carry on the powerful role; she lacks the punch. I will watch it when it's on Netflix.

Finally a thread that agrees with my view on the trailer and the movie😉

When I saw the trailer it was kind of deja vu...like I have seen that before...mainly reminded me of Who killed Jessica. Rani looked as boring or as plain as she looked in her latest movies. There is no charm in her. It looks wannabe Big B movie.

To me it appears to be a mediocre movie with what we have seen all before content. Adi wanted to give her a strong female lead and he gave her this.

But look at Sridevi, her strong lead woman did not have to punch a guy to prove that she was strong.

Rani would have been better in a different storyline.

@Bri...I think what you were expecting was her to ham but gladly she didn't. Any actress in this role would have gone OTT but Rani has brought subtlety to it. She is reminding me of Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty. Also speaking loudly =/= great acting.

I am sure there will be moments in the film where she'll go loud, which we saw the glimpse of in last few seconds but overall it would be a subtle performance.

don't underestimate the power of pc. i saw jhilmil not pc in barfi. i still say...she has potential to slip into a mardaani..perfectly.

and vidya...😆just think how she would have approached some of the flat scenes in mardaani. like killed it.
