Hi , Everyone ! Didn't make a post for a while to express my POVS over the show and it's tracks shown or should I say , I didn't even want and bother to ! Here the reason is :
"There are certain themes of which the interest is all-absorbing , but which are too entirely horrible for the purposes of legitimate fiction."
- Edgar Allan Poe
I couldn't have expressed myself better then these 3 lines of Edgar's quote ! Fiction works like jokes : It's good when your jokes and funny anecdotes are really effective and hilarious but it has it's own doses not to be exceeded otherwise you become yourself a joke to be laughed at ! And that's unfortunately the case of our show ! I am not gonna blabber anymore with my POVS but this time with the male lead himself's , Rajat Tokas attraction toward historical characters even though not having any accentuated knowledges over them , why he loves to act into historical shows , why not enacting that much into daily soaps , the comparison between them and saas bahu sagas , his opinions . . . ! These are quotes from his first interview segments when he had been recently chose to portray the role of Emperor Akbar .
(In bold (red) are those revealing and very telling passages that I have highlighted and underlined , useful for comparison with the current Emperor Akbar's portrait !)
"It's not about coming back to historical shows or I am in love with historical characters but yes it's true that I like these characters as I love playing a man. I did Tere Liye where I played a grey character which was very different from Prithviraj and Dharam Veer.
- My question : When a male actor is portraying a strong and powerful historical character , it's all about MAN , the strength , capacity , will and ambition and success , how he made his place in the history with his admirable and successful accomplishments (battles , wars , conquests ) , that's what generally a male historical character enacts ! Is the current Jalal enacting by anyway a MAN ? Is he being shown as a praiseworthy and venerable character ?
Ekta experimented with me but then I wanted to do something more powerful and I am happy that Jodha Akbar was offered to me. I don't think I will get to play such a powerful character in a daily soap. I am not saying that daily soaps are boring but it is something I don't like. Historical shows are very different from daily soaps and I can say that as I have done three historical shows. In daily soaps you are just an observer or onlooker. You don't have anything to do in a daily soap and yet you are the main lead of the show."- My question : if the male leads in daily soaps are just observers and onlookers of female performances and accomplishments , what the current Jalaluddin Mohammad Akbar is ?
Rajat adds, "I don't understand the logic behind the saas-bahu sagas on small screen. Hence, I prefer strong roles that I have played earlier and I would continue to do them in future too. When Producers, directors and the casting team selects certain actor to play a character in their show they are very much sure about what they want. So I think the makers of the show have found Akbar in me and that is why I am playing the role of Akbar. I am extremely happy to be back after two and a half year with such a big offer."
- My question : Can the logic of current tracks be explained in a comprehensive way ? Is there a single scene from 1 entire year of diffusion where cv's , producers , directors , casting team manipulate and coordinate perfectly with the male protagonist's abilities ?
- Thanks for reading ! Any attempts to answer my above questions or debates over these are welcome 😊 !
