Finally, the suspense is over. Now onwards, Gautami Kapoor will play the character of Tulsi in Ekta Kapoor's flagship show ' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', thereby replacing Smriti Irani, who played the character to perfection for seven years and made it a household name across the country. Gautami won the race from the list of probables consisting of the likes of Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon by a narrow margin in an audience poll. Gautami is very excited about the whole thing and says, ' I' am on top of the world. I could not have asked for more. Balaji had offered me a few shows and Kyunki…. was one of them. But I did not know I was being considered for Tulsi's character. It was finalized two days ago. I have won by a small margin but that was sheer luck… it does not prove that my acting skills are better than Padminiji. Both Padminiji and Smriti are superior to me in every aspect. As for taking over from Smriti, it's certainly a lot of pressure. I will take each day as it comes.' Link: |
