She really had no idea of his criminal/smuggling activities because she the kind of person who takes people at face value.
She pushes all the bad stuff to back of her mind, lives in the present and day dreams about happy times.
I strongly feel that with a grown-up Rudra back in her life, Mala will change. I think we will see character growth in Mala and Rudra will be the catalyst.
Everyone at the Ranawat haveli is badly in need of therapy, - family counseling, marriage counseling, personal counseling, you name it. They could keep several shrinks employed for years to come!!

@ Bold, really valid point. I'm going to to take it as a compliment 😆; I guess we as individuals here are fairly strong and self sufficient.

I do hope that she will grow some backbone, because it's just going to be odd having Rudra and Paro carry her character throughout the show.

I also think there is a really odd disconnect that such a weak character can have such a huge impact on Paro/Rudra in terms of development, values etc (one via negative expereince, and the other via positive) when the character themself isn't able to project much of anything on screen.

We'll just have to watch and find out!

You know as you were describing Mala I was busy thinking why is Paro so different to Mala and what exactly did Mala teach Paro. By what we know Paro grew up around Mala and Mala taught her everything she knows. Really? Even I can't see where. Paro so far has gone from the quiet, shy, not talking much girl to a woman who stands up to people when she thinks that person is wrong be it Rudra or Mohini. I also agree that I would like to see Mala grow as a character just the way they have shown Paro to grow, and Maithili to grow.

And this is exactly why I hate that Paro is pushing Rudra to look for Mala, to not be rude to her, to talk to her, to give her a chance and blah blah. Rudra isn't at fault, Mala is. She has to show him why she deserves a second chance. She has to give him a reason to let her explain herself. And she isn't doing any of that!

I actually wanted to smack her head against the wall when she said maybe all this is her fault. What do you mean maybe? It is your fault that you chose not to fight for your son.

It's the odd split that is the weak character. Mala is too weak to do anything and Paro is inherently good so she will do everything in her power to try to bring closure to this sorded tail- in the end Paro will get shafted. I do think there may be a time further down the line where even Paro will give Mala a piece of her mind and tell her to step up. Infact, she did do that in yesterday's episode to an extent- questioning her, and calling her out- even though she got a wishy washy response.

Mala is bringing out violent tendencies which I can totally relate to. Part of me really does want to smack mala's head, just to bring some sense into it 😆

Mala does not connect... i also don't know whether its the actress or the writing or both. And it is this inability of her character to connect with the viewers that is highlighting Paro's naiveness or over- enthusiasm whatever you may call it. We can feel Rudra's pain but not Mala's pain. I don't see any effort from her side to reach out to Rudra like a mother who has pined for her son for 15 yrs and who realizes that she has wronged him. So when Paro tries to impose on Rudra that he needs to give Mala a second chance , it does not come out right. If Mala had been able to evoke some emotions in the viewers, Paro's actions would not seem so out of place.

I am not sure abt the weak part..for a woman to leave her husband in the kind of rural setting amd background she lived in does require strength. Very few women would be able to do that.
