"It's Stupid People Are Waiting For Us To Fight" - Sidharth Reacts To Spat With Varun' Reports
The recent reports of Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra having a tiff at Karan Johar's party made to the headlines of every possible tabloid in the market. Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming flick Ek Villain assured that it must be the figment of a gossip monger's imagination.
In an interview to Koimoi recently Sid revealed, "Varun and me were laughing about it. We were actually planning to abuse each other on phone. That was all lies and made up. We in fact tried it and ended up laughing. Varun saw my song from Ek Villain and I saw Humpty's promo so I called him up. So I abused him and said B*****d we are fighting and all. We have that smooth rapport and it is sometimes just stupid that people don't want to believe that actors can be friends."
A leading daily made an elaborate piece about how Varun had made a joke which Sidharth did not take kindly to. However, Malhotra slammed it all as made up' stories and the earnestness in his tone was very believable.
Talking about the rapport between younger actors, Sidharth said, "It is the prevalent notion that two guys who were launched together will eventually fight. Rather, I think everyone is waiting for that, and then they can have the last word and say Dekha Humne Bola Tha'. So far all's good between us. We are all very close."

Talking more from Karan's birthday bash Sidharth said, "It is not only me and Varun but all the young gen actors who have that ease in our relationships. Since Arjun's 2 States did really well and when we met at Karan's party we kept teasing him saying Arey Arjun Sir Aa Gaye Hai'. There is that sense of healthy competition. We are aware of who is doing well and who is not. We can keep pulling each other's leg and bash each other but can't wish for each other's bad. We can never say why this one is doing so well! There's competition but with a tinge of encouragement in it. As young actors, we can barely control anything. Audiences come first and not like we have a great lineage of work to display so far. We can't have that sense of belonging or possessiveness yet where we say arey uska aisa kyun hua and mera kyun nahin'. This is new age competition. It isn't 90s and 80s where the heroes are looking through each other not saying hello. I am not saying that can't happen, it surely can. But the present is all of us are friendly and keep pulling each other's leg. We compete without wishing each other bad."
Sidharth Malhotra is all set to appear in his third film Ek Villain starring opposite the Aashiqui 2 babe Shraddha Kapoor. The film which is acquiring a very positive buzz so far is the one film which audiences are looking out for this month. Given Mohit Suri's last stint, the expectations from this one are insurmountable.
