Man who styles divas

Costume designer Rick Roy, is referred to as "item specialist" by director Sajid Khan. Rick is the man behind styling all the leading ladies for item numbers in his films. While Tamannah, Esha Gupta and Bipasha Basu looking stunning in the Piya Ke Bazaar number, the credit goes to Rick. Speaking about working for Sajid, Rick says, "The brief with all Sajid's films are very simple. He is someone who is extremely clear about what his characters should look like so he tells you exactly what he wants. For Piya Ke Bazaar he said the girls are dancing in a bar so dress them accordingly..the look be classy, expensive and glamorous and not cheap."

About his past work with the director he says, "In the past, I have done Munni Badnaam Hui for Farah. I have done Tamannah's clothes in Himmatwala. My favourite song with Sajid has to be Anarkali Disco Chali. I had heard he was a tough boss so, I was a bit nervous but he was really sweet to me. Also shooting Anarkali was like a party time. Apart from him Farah and Malaika would add to the whole fun. They used to bring yummy food from home every day."

About working with Tamannah, Esha and Bipasha he says, "Bipasha is particular about certain things. She patiently sat with me and made me understand things that she likes and how they work best for her. Tamannah is extremely professional; there is stuff that she might not agree with you but once you explain to her why and what you are doing and how it will work for the look, she listens which is an amazing quality. Esha and I share a very different rapport. She does'nt even ask what she was wearing for here character, infact, I went up to show her the sketches and swatches.

Speaking about other projects on his list Rick says, "In Raja Natwarlal I'm styling Emraan Hashmi. Emraan has looked fabulous in this movie. Gabbar is next release where I have styled Akshay Kumar. It will be my tenth release in a short span of three years since I started doing movies. This one is really close to my heart for special reasons. My first movie was with Akshay and now my tenth one will also be with him. It is like a full circle for me and I'm very emotional about this one."
