The four Days!
Chapter-28:
Thirukkural: (Chapter-52; Poem-511)
He (the country) should be employed by a king, whose nature leads him to choose the good, after having weighed both the evil and the good in any undertaking.
-Thiruvalluvar.
That Afternoon:
The mysteries Jeep:
Ayesha and Arjun were in the conference room.
As he was haunted by reminisce of his past encounter with the beard man, Ayesha turned to him and said, "Sir, the route map of the streets Dhanya took that day."
#
They were in the SUV and were moving through the streets slowly.
"Sir, from here the girls took the right side road and here got the auto. Dhanya took a left turn and moved toward the main road."
Ayesha was saying softly as they observed the surroundings.
The place was very silent and the small road ways were empty except their car.
'Well chosen!'
The road turned then and it went straight to the main road as some side roads parted from it, where trees covered the place neatly and were standing there quietly now, witnessing the observation just as they did two days before, when the kidnap took place, there in one of the side streets.
He stopped the car and got out.
It seemed the place was created for kidnaps. With the trees around none would see if anything happened there.
He went up to, where the jeep was standing two days before and started observing.
Ayesha followed him there and stood beside him.
They could find nothing.
'They could have gone through any route from here.'
"Right!" he sighed and moved toward the car.
She said, "Sir, that's the main road," she pointed out.
They got in the car and moved toward it.
"This is from where we got the jeep on a CCTV camera, taking a turn towards this road, twice last week."
He assigned men to inquire around and through the side streets parted from there.
'If anybody can tell a clue...'
#
Just around the corner:
What am I missing here?
Someone kidnaps a girl-Dhanya-Young.
Asking -No ransom money-nothing.
But a single sms.
Package!
It means they are planning to pack her somewhere?
A jeep roams around the city everywhere, but from nowhere-Even to the kidnapping spot. When we reach the hotel to search Devananth's room, this fellow is sitting there.
Can he be the one who has assigned to watch Devananth?
If it's him then we can't reach them anymore, they know police is watching them now.
None will come out now.
Then what about the girl?
Will they try to hush the matter or the girl, instead?
How can we reach them without a clue?
There must be some clue, somewhere.
He swiveled in his chair and his gaze fell on Sakshi's chair.
He blinked a moment, 'Where is she?'
"Where is she?"
We looked him unbelievingly.
'He is asking about Sakshi. At last!'
Ayesha said excitedly, "She is in her Dhi's house sir!"
"Right!" he nodded and saw her chair again. Sakshi!'- something was nagging him then.
He did not notice a pair of eyes was watching him curiously still as he took his mobile in hand.
The eyes were smirking happily now.
He was rotating the mobile between his thumb and index finger.
Suddenly he got what was worrying him for some time now- The Mobile!
He put his mobile down on the table again and shook his head once to clear the clumsy thoughts away.
The eyes were enjoying his tension secretly, for they knew he could not contact the number he wanted to contact right now. It was switched off for two days now and wanted to scream in joy out and announce the matter to someone, but decided to wait a little longer.
The very first question once the mobiles switched on the next day will be, 'Are you mad to follow an idiot's idea word by word?', the eyes saw the glitters in his eyes before turned away.
Now he started seeing everything in a new light.
When he and Chottu entered in one day last week he noted that Sakshi was moving a mobile quietly toward Ayesha who smiled and turned to her work back, silently. As he suddenly remembered something and moved toward his room he got a message in his mobile.
He opened it and saw that Ayesha had sent him a friendship day wish.
As he knew then well that who sent it, he ignored it without replying back.
Now he saw the incident differently.
By using other's mobile, one should not have to show their identity, but the message would reach the destination safely.
'Someone is trying to say something, but not with their identity.'
This fellow said, he was waiting for a friend. What if it was me?
What if it was me after all?
What if it was him who sent that message?
No, he can't. There has to be something more.
Intuition told him, the man was doing something, behind his beard.
I've to act fast, but how?
I've to meet him once.
Will he tell me what is going on?
Meet him first!
How?
'STOP ME IF YOU CAN!'
Stop from what?
If this 'me' refers to a single one, is it an illusion or a set up that we are searching for a group?
Then the kidnap!
Something does not add up here, while it was a sudden plan of the girls to visit the friend's house, why should the jeep come there, well before the kidnap? And how? Too many co-incidences!
Co-incidence?
What was their plan actually?
What am I missing here?
He had to admit that he had come back to square to one, at last.
As time went on he was more silent than ever.
Anytime he was staring the floor numbly. Sometimes there would be sparkles in those eyes. But his lips exposed nothing to us.
We felt the change in the air, openly.
He was silent alone, thinking alone, leaving us alone.
In other words, he was avoiding us.
In a team, if a member was avoiding you, what would you do? You would hide it.
And we were doing our best not to show it on our faces.
But we were more than ready to help him, if he needed.
He was doing something, behind his silence.
We could say, it all started after I found that beard fellow in my lap-top.
Who could question an ACP?
'Shh... he is turning toward me.'
