I recently tuned into the Kasturi mania, just to get a feel of things and because of the notorious comparisons drawn between KYPH and this show! I lived on KYPH so I had to see for myself to believe it and what can I say?
Hats off to Ekta for pulling it off yet again..
She had me rooted to my chair until I finished watching all of the episodes without distractions (though I admit I started from Robbie's entry!), however I see quite a good mash between Kahin To Hoga as well as KYPH.
Yes, the rockstar theme and management and status quota and dominating mother figure thing is a KYPH rip off, but if you look close, the best friends living together, sharing a brotherly bond, one more sacrificing than the other, one of the head patrons hating this setup, family share etc. is very similar to KTH.
Aside from that, the story line is already showing hints at a Raunak/Kasturi pairing - here is why I think so:
1. A healthy friendship/alliance bond between the two from day one - Raunak always saved Kasturi from Robbie and took her side, despite of being Robbie's bestie - sorta like Piyush and Kashish/Prithivi and Kripa.
2. A VERY fast romance already blooming between the pairing - Rob just entered in 3rd May episode and confession, accidents, near marriages and cottages has all already happened (granted nothing happened but still!) - that as the K-serials have shown us is NEVER good!
3. Robbie's obvious fear of his mother - he can stand up for and to save Kasturi in his own twisted ways against her family and the entire world, but when his mother is around - he leaves her hand time and again as if its on fire, somehow a forewarning in my view.
4. Devika looking for a reason to separate the households and get Robbie away from his lady love - what best way than to hitch said lady love with brother like best friend?
5. Most importantly, this addictive idea of "dard ka rishta" that we all so admired about Sujal/Kashish and Angad/Kripa. Both these pairs were hasty with their confessions but grew close through separation - it was their pining for each other that strengthened their love and their rishta. Kasturi and Robbie need to earn that love, need to develop it. As Devika said Robbie gets things easily - no I dont doubt his love for Kasturi but I am not as yet convinced of the intensity - and same goes for Kasturi's love as well. Her's more than Robbie's seems like a compromise to me.
So yeah, thats my two cents on the current ongoings - I have fallen in love with "Mitwa" but can so imagine "Adhoori Kahani" or "Main Jahaan Rahoon" from Namaste London becoming the new theme song. Atleast I wont be surprised!
