PROPHET MUHAMMAD (S.A.W.S.) SAID "WHEN YOU ENTER THE MONTH OF SHABAN CLEANSE YOURSELF BODY AND SOUL, AND MAKE YOUR NIYAT TO FAST IN THE WAY OF ALLAH . SHOW MORE RESPECT TO THIS HOLY MONTH OF SHABAN JUST AS YOU WOULD SHOW MORE RESPECT TO ME THAN OTHERS IN THIS WORLD."

In shabaan, there is shab-e-baraat where Allah records all the deeds for the following years to be performed by muslim. It is the month before ramadhan. It is mentioned that the Prophet would fast a lot during this month.

It also marks the birth of some great figures in Islam.

By some muslims 1st shaban is believed at birth of sayeda zainab daughter of Imam Ali, 3rd shaban as the birth of Imam Hussain sayed-e-shuhadah son of Imam Ali, 4th shaban as birth of Hazrat Abbas son of Imam Ali, 5th shaban as birth of Imam Zainul Abideen the son of Imam Hussain, 7th shaban birth of Qasim son of Imam Hassan, 11th shaban birth of Ali-al Akbar son of Imam Hussain, night of 15th shaban is lailatul-barat and the birth of Imam Mahdi- imam e zamaan.
