I've often wondered what's going with Mami and her relatives. They all seem to come from well off homes. Wasn't there a dig from Nani somewhere that Mami had gone from rags to riches?

Mami is from a very poor family. During Payash love track when mami planned to leave RM since she can not accept Payal. Then Arnav told her to think again leaving all luxuries of RM and going back to her poor family. She suddenly changed her decision and compromised with the marriage. This clarify the financial status of her family.
