In the recent episode of KWK, Kekta said something like "if people don't like my shows, don't watch them, why watch them if you're just going to crib at them?" - or words to that effect...

Personally, I think that is a very arrogant thing to say! I mean, what exactly is she indicating? That the audience have no right to comment on the shows they are watching??

I would agree that if all people are going to do is call the shows in general silly television or boring etc, then they should switch over elsewhere - but what about those viewers, like most of us, that watch the shows religiously and voice their opinions on the way in which the story is going??

Is she really so arrogant as to say "this show is my show, if you don't like the way its going, stop watching!" etc?? If that's the case then perhaps she needs a wake up call - it is the audience that decide whether or not a show is successful - if she's not willing to listen to her audience, then it's no surprise that the TRP's of most Balaji shows are on the decrease!!

Most obvious case in point - our very own Kasamh Se! 😭 Maybe the Lurkers should pass on some of our messages so she can get some idea of what her audience really thinks of her and her Destructives!!

Instead of firing people like Rajeev Khandelwal for speaking their mind about her brainless destructives, if she listened to someone else for a change, KTH would not be in such a dire mess, and maybe we could say the same for KS too!! 🤢

I agree with you Cordy...

She was so arrogant...I can understand her frustration of constantly being critised. But if she is constantly being critised, dont that say something to her?

Moreover, I thought her reference to her target audience is also wrong. Yes, she is making for the masses, home-makers...But the way she said it, it seems like she thinks that all home-makers are dumb and wouldnot mind her bloopers... 😡

I agree with you. She should think about her audience because they are the ones who are going to be watching the shows. The audience helps her decide what she is doing wrong, and so she can make her shows better. Ekta is being arrogant. 🤢

i totally agree!! what a narrow-minded stereotype! has she left her house recently?? if she had then she would see that a massive majority of her "home-maker" audience are intelligent, educated woman who find her generalisations quite insulting!!!

very much appears to be so!! when her TRP's drop she will be the first to go crying to her creatives - it would do her no harm to take the suggestions of ehr audience once in a while - they seem to have more brains per person than the creatives do individually!!!! 😆

and as Meena said, no offence meant to Ekta fans, i just had to comment on my perception of her attitude - hope it doesnt upset any of you! 😊

I agree with what you said!

Also, was it Ram who said Ekta wants everything perfect and she won't let them stop unless it's perfect?

Umm...ekta, have you watched your shows? More time is spent on bloopers, smirking, and the lights flashing on everyone's face than any real progression in the story. So this is what you call perfection? Beats me! 😕

And since you've so honestly said, if we don't like it, we shouldn't watch them...I have stopped watching KS. Hope you're happy. You've successfully destroyed a beautiful story 👍🏼

And I didn't like her attitude towards Rajeev Khandelwal!

i heard the same!! 😆 she says she watches every epi of KS and KSBKBT - she must be either blind or falling asleep then, because both are miles and miles from perfect in any way!! 😡 KS is suffering the most I feel, and I thought PD was suposed to be her protege and RK her fave - then why isnt she concentrating on their main show?!!

whether she is happy or not, i certainly am not happy!! have missed you lots sravi!! 😛

i completely agree!! Raj K should have been applauded for what he said! Instead she goes around bad-mouthing him to all and sundry! 😡 i wait for the day when he opens his mouth to the press too!! 😈

1. I didn't like her entire attitude.

2. I didn't like her interaction with her boys (all three).

3. She said she doesn't make her soaps for the elite, upper class women but for women who can identify with the problems of the female protagonist. I guess she was speaking about the saas bahu sagas because although I am sure there are many SIL/BIL blackmail/rape/ONS relationship stories as ugly as the curent KS storyline, I personally don't know anyone who would qualify to identify with the female protagonists in Kasamh Se. I also know that none of the women in my acquaintance would want to drool over the current characterization of Jai Walia when we all drooled over him just a year back.
4. She said that the audience that criticize her don't know their India, don't care to know about what goes on in their Bai's house. That they want to get their own creative juices flowing through her serials. She appeared like she was in tune with the masses' sensitivities while her audience (select audience) was not. I don't know whose sensitivity this current saga appeals to. You are right, it was a beautiful love story that connected many of us through internet, emails, through ordinary conversations, through animated discussions over phone calls. It felt neat to call and just chat about ordinary things like what was happening in Kasamh Se, it was just one more way of connecting with distant relatives and friends and feeling in sync with them.
