Success:Story on Kalpi[Rachana] last part on Pg 140 [30th july] - Page 5

@Kalpi's room

Kalpi is pacing restlessly in her room.. She wants to call at her home and inform them about her job but she knows that her mother won't be too happy to know that as her mother doesn't want to see her working in some cafe, she wants her(Kalpi) to work in some big company and become "memsaab". She somehow convinces herself that she is doing this job just for money. She takes out a paper and start calculating her expenses.. She is finally relieved to know that coaching center's salary would be enough for her and she can save cafe's salary for her PG.. She plans to purchase a new book for MBA entrance exam... as only 6 months left for next exam. She looks at watch..

Kalpi (shockingly) : Ohh God!! It's 4:45, I have to leave for the cafe but where is Payal?? Wasn't she supposed to be at home?? I just wanted to meet her before leaving.. I don't know y but her presence gives me positive vibes.. Neways now I do not have time to wait for her.. I don't even have phone to call her... I can't switch on my mumbai's number. Let me leave a note for her..

She leaves a note on her desk for Payal stating that she has got job in cafe and going to join from today only.. She dint forget to thanks her for all the support she is giving her.

@Cafe,

Kalpi sees Roy sitting in all formals unlike yesterday...

Kalpi : Good evening

Roy(in angry tone) : Good evening Ms. Jadhav.. U r 5 mins late...

Kalpi (bit frightened ): Sorry.. actually I just forgot the path..

Roy(still angry): Cut the crap.. I do not want to hear any personal excuses. Let me explain you ur work... Your shift will be from 4pm to 10 pm. U have to manage all our staff and have to keep an eye on them.. As I have seen ur resume and u r good in accountings so U have to manage our accounts as well. Apart from this.. If there is any party in the cafe than u will be the event manager of that. M I clear??

Kalpi : Yes

Roy (in a rude way): There is the kitchen...Now go and prepare coffee for me...

Kalpi is shocked to hear this... It reminds her about her first meeting with Raghav.. He too told her to prepare coffee. She starts remembering all her meetings with Raghav... the alibagh trip, his first confession.. the party night.. her engagement... and finally their wedding... She remembers his words that I married Pakhi.. Her smile vanishes all of a sudden... Her excitement of new job is being converted into sadness.

On seeing Kalpi sad.. Roy bursts out in laughter..

Roy(laughingly) : No, I can't do this anymore... I am sorry Kalpana.. I was just trying to act like a strict boss. But I can't... Don't be sad yar... I din't mean to hurt u.. I was just trying to pull ur leg... That was just a small prank... Com'n.. Smile now We are frnz!

Kalpi(angrily) : No Sir, we are not frnz.. A rich and a poor can't be frnz. U r too rich to understand anyone's feelings.. Rich people like u do not have hearts... What u know is only to hurt people... to use girls as pawn and play with them... U can make promises but can't fulfill them... U do not mind insulting us in public... For u ur ego is more important than our lives... U feel we do not have any self respect.. U can use us in any way... Deceiving is in ur blood... U can't be faithful to anyone.. Neither to ur love nor ur frn..

Suddenly Payal comes out the kitchen and start yelling..

Payal(angrily) : Kalpana!! Are u out of ur mind what are u saying?? What the hell do u think of urself?? Rich and poor can't be frnz... we too are not frnz anymore. I too belong from a rich family. What is ur problem??

Kalpi(realizing what all she said) : Payal.. actually..

Payal : Shut up Kalpi!! No need to say anything.. Stop being so judgmental about rich people..

Kalpi : U won't understand Payal... I dnt think u have faced rejection in ur life... Ur life is too different from mine...U have all what u want.. U can't understand my pain.

Payal : That's what I am saying Kalpi.. stop being judgmental... I won't understand pain?? I won't understand rejection?? Oh man... My parents has rejected me after few years of my birth... They are divorced... I was living with my granny and I dnt even remember from when... Two years ago she too died... Since than I am living in this hostel... No matter what the occasion is.. all I have to do is celebrate it with myself... My parents are happy with their respective spouses and family... No one is even bothered about me. Every month I get a big amount as their love... My only family is Roy.. He is everything to me... My best frn, my brother, my guide.. everything.. And u r hurting him.. the guy who is so down to earth that no body even knows that he owns this cafe... U remember yesterday only I told u that he works here... And u... Just come with me..

Payal drags Kalpi to the kitchen.. The kitchen was fully decorated with a small chocolate cake in the mid.. Kalpi notices a banner on the wall.. "Welcome Kalpana".

Payal : Look at this Kalpana.. This is all what we were doing whole day.. We were planning to celebrate our fshp and what u gave in return??

Kalpi : I am sorry.. I am really very sorry!!

Kalpi hugs Payal very tightly and starts crying bitterly. She was hugging her like a small wounded child who wants someone to take away all the pain. Roy signals Payal to not say anything and let her cry as much as she wants. Finally Kalpi wipes her tears and breaks the hug... She goes towards Roy.

Kalpi : M sorry, please forgive me. I have no words now.. I don't know how to apologize..

Roy : It's ok.. no need to apologize.. I know that words were not for me. The pain was quite visible in ur eyes...it's clear that some1 hurted u badly...I just want to say u one thing... "Cry as hard as u want but make sure that when u stop crying, u'll never cry for the same reason again." Now go and pacify Payal else she will start crying.

Kalpi(to Payal) : I am sorry.. I do not want to loose a frn like u.. Will u forgive me??

Payal : Only one one condition..

Kalpi : What?

Payal(with a smile) : I will have the biggest share of the cake.

Kalpi : Done!! Now won't u guys welcome me?? Let's cut the cake..

All three of them cut the cake together... Payal wanted Kalpi to cut it as it is for her but Kalpi insisted to cut together as it for their fshp.. Kalpi thanks Roy and Payal for being so kind with her and promises them to be their life long frn..

Kalpi : Roy.. it's 6 pm.. Let's star working..

Roy : Madam.. check ur appointment letter..

Kalpi : What?? U have appointed me and joining date is ... OMG!!

Roy : Exactly... ur work starts from tomorrow... Today we will celebrate our fshp day and it was Payal's idea and not mine.

Payal : Yep.. I want to take u to some special place.

Roy : U will do tripling on Dhanno?? We will go in my car and to my fav place..

Kalpi was abut to say something but Roy interrupts her..

Roy : No need to say anything Miss Kalpana.. U r coming and tht's ur boss's order..

Kalpi : Ahan!! Boss from tomorrow.. Today I am going with frnz.

Roy : Ok!! Let's go!! but before that let me change.. cnt come in formals!!

Roy takes them to some lake... At sunset lake was looking beautiful.. Thanks to summer that they got to see that beautiful scene despite being late.. Kalpi was mesmerized by nature's charisma. She goes towards the lake and sits on a rock leaving both her frnz behind. She turns around to see Roy and Payal.. Payal was running behind Roy to beat him.. Kalpi smiles on seeing them..

Kalpi(to herself) : Is it really happening?? M I dreaming... I actually got two such frnz who values relationship.. they did so much for a girl who they met just two days ago!! I would never forget this day in my life.. Thank you Bappa!!

Kalpi takes out diary and pen to note down today's date so that she can celebrate it every year.. She looks at the pen and again becomes sad on remembering Rags.. She had kept this pen with her as his memory but she dint knw that someday it will hurt her so much. She wants to throw that pen in lake but dint has courage to do so.. she keeps staring at the pen and a tear rolls down from her eyes... Payal notices this.. She shows this to Roy... Payal than goes to wipe Kalpi's tears..This sweet gesture touched Kalpi's heart.. She has always cried alone.. and wasn't expecting anyone to wipe her tears.

Kalpi : I have cried many times but no ever came to console me... No one was around. I used to cry whole night in my hostel.. But the silence of the hostel never cared about me. I dint even had any frn in hostel coz I was alws busy in my mother's thought.. There was a girl in my room with whom I used to talk a bit but that was too limited to studies. The only person whom I knew as frn was Pakhi.. She alws considered me as her frn but she was the person whom I hated most.. I dint knw what fshp was... All I knew was about studies and my mother's dream... I was just learning to live but then..

Kalpi pauses while talking... She dsnt want to share her past with anyone.. It was Payal's gesture that made her reveal this much..

Payal : Then ?? What happened Kalpi?? I want to know..

Roy : Payal, don't force her... Someday she will tell us on her own..

Payal : But I really want to know Roy.. I have considered her as my sister.. my family.. I want her to reveal everything, only than I will be able to heel it.

Kalpi : But I do not want this pain to come out... I want to make it my strength..

Payal : Pain can't be anyone's strength.. It will just keep u pushing into ur past.. Roy.. u say something..

Roy : Kalpi I dnt want to force u but what Payal is saying is correct... U need to move on in ur life.. We are there to give u strength.. So stop finding it in ur past.. Whatever ur past is just let it go!! Remove the burden which u r carrying unnecessary.. Live ur life on ur own terms... Speak up Kalpi... U said no one was their for u.. Now we are here to listen whatever u want to say!!

Kalpi : From my childhood I was craving for my mother's love.. She never had time for me.. coz she was busy in taking care of her other daughter.. That daughter is not my sibling... nor my mother has given birth to her.. but my mom has fed her milk.. My mom was supposed to be her nanny and my mother but she became her mother and my nanny... She was paid to fulfill Pakhi's necessities and being a mother she was supposed to love mt but She fulfilled all my necessities and gave all her love to Pakhi.. To made me strong she left me in the middle of the lake.. What if I have drawn?? She dint took out to made me strong but what if I have died?? That day I realized I am not her daughter but only her dream.. All she want from me is to prove that a maid's daughter can also attin height.. But she forgot that m a child only.. I too need love and care.. I have learned to cope with that situation also but than came a man who made me realize that I too have some identity.. He made me feel special.. His love proved me that I am not less than Pakhi and I too can have my own dreams.. He gave me wings to fly... But then he snatched them away from me.. I was waiting for him on altar... He came bit late but he dint come alone but with his new bride Pakhi.. The same Pakhi with whom I shared my mom's love... He left me broken..He married Pakhi for some revenge.. He broke her heart too and again my mom proved that she cares about Pakhi the most... It hurted me most and I came here to fulfill my mom's dreams.

Payal : I am sorry Kalpi.. I said too much in cafe today.. I dint knew abt ur story..

She hugs Kalpi and assures her that she will be always there for her.. Roy too joins them in hug saying that he is also a part of this group and now we three are inseparable!!

Precap : Roy and Payal dancing and Kalpi looking at them.. She remembers her childhood incident where Kamla slapped her for dancing.
