@twila i know order of merlin but didn't know it was based on a person called Merlin...

im curious to knw where in which book the info is disclosed! my HP knowledge is either ageing or i didnt pay attention to these details...

btw im a gryffindor and my house is great too, madam!!!

@akash..i'll try cracking ur riddle a little later...been busy...

Most of these details were not in the books but on HP Wiki. I read it all there. And I am in Gryffindor too! By great, I meant 'of great ambition'. Someone who is very ambitious (quite like Percy). That's what the Sorting Hat said.

One from my side. Pretty simple.

I descend down from the good and the dark,
Yet in a brighter side I am, with no hints of the Mark.

The worst of the fears for me, never bore fruit,
Though alter I can, if it so suits.

I'm guided by a leader, who ended a regime,
Having a past, like mine it may seem.

My heart is set on a beauty divine,
Our fathers had great traumas, and our mothers-they were one of a kind!

The answer to my 13th riddle is "Mrs. Crouch "

Nobody knew my tale,

Nobody knew that she switched place with her son at Azkaban with the help of polyjuice potion.

I sulked and I wailed.

Self explanatory.. she became extremely depressed after her son was sent to Azkaban.

How could anyone be so cruel?

Crouch sr. sentenced his own son Crouch jr. to b taken to Azkaban.

It made me split in two and duel.

Mrs. Crouch was caught between her responsibility , love and devotion as a wife and as a mother.

I had to give in,for he too was a part of my soul,

But finally she decided to give in to her maternal love and saved her evil son from Azkaban.

Even though my loved ones failed to achieve their goals.

Both, Crouch Sr.& Jr.failed to achieve their respective goals.. Sr.wanted to b minister of magic & Jr.wanted Harry killed at the hands of the dark Lord ( he did succeed in bringing back voldy into his humanoid form but failed to kill harry )

Alone among countless others I am lost forever,

Mrs Crouch was buried among other countless souls who died in prison.

It may have been my sacrifice or my dark side,but it sure was clever.

She "sacrificed" herself for her son but the son was evil, hence saving him was actually an evil act, therefore "the dark side".. however it was all done very cleverly by means of polyjuice potion..
