Hello People,

Its been a while, since I have actually contributed to this forum interms of a write up/ story or jus a few lines apart from a few replies to the many posts posted everyday.

I was finishing up an article and a thought struck me abt Shaanti , the daughter of Shiv and Gauri and jus as soon, an entire a sequence of a story formed in my head and I thought why not pen them down in a short FF, a FF dedicated only to Shaanti Kapoor.

PLease let me know if this idea is ok, and if you'd be interested enough for me to begin and then continue with it.

As I have admitted on several occassions earlier, I promise it wouldnt be too long a FF , but a short FF, running in for a couple of a parts ....coz I find it hard to maintain a continuous train of thought for too long and too strong!

Looking forward for your feedback...

Part 1:

The first rays of the morning sun , seeped through the window, clearing the dark shadows of the room ,bearing the unmistakeble air of gloom. A forgotten corner of a busy mansion, it was, bearing memories , buried in time, rekindled ever so often by a saddened heart, a tear shed in solitude, in the name of a forlorn memory...

The thin golden frame shone, on the table across the window, as the warm rays seeping through , caressed it as always, the dimpled smile of the little girl in the picture setting the room aglow , as the rays of sun continued to caress the angelic face of the girl.

She was giggling, holding to her dad, smiling over his shoulder , managing to hold her own hands , wrapped around his neck, as he smiled back, holding on to her hands, smiling back into the camera...

A couple of more pictures of the family, of two young, smart boys , with their mother, a charming lady, with a warm smile, adorned the table, yet the picture of little girl with her dad , stood out amongst the rest , in an strange way, as it struck the chords of the heart of the one watching it, the innocence of those angelic eyes , a glaring reminder of what was amiss in the gloomy room!

The overbearing silence of the room , seemed to be broken by the creek of the large wooden door, as an old man , dressed in a white dhoti, and a white kurta, holding white lilies, pushed the door open, making his way , along the large mahogany table, in the center of the room, towards the table in the corner , adorned with pictures.

Walking over, he replaced the lilies , in the vase, next to the pictures , the picture of the little girl immediately next to the vase. It was a routine to replace fresh flowers in the vase, but it seemed, the man saw it as no routine, but seemed to taken in those few moments in the room, as he would cast a glance at the pictures before he turned to leave , a glance that would last more than a casual glance, as his eyes would moisten, looking at the picture of the little girl... when he would quickly wipe his moist eyes with the white shawl and walk back... towards the door, as the room fell back into the gloomy silence, the large walls , flanked with books , casting dark shadows over the large table, the smile of the little girl fading into the gloomy silence, as the room awaited the return of the footsteps ...

Awww, so much confidence in my writings, thank you! Its really humbling!!! I have jus put up the first part... It was an idea, that I got to write abt a father and a daughter and then thought, why not relate it to Shaanti and Shiv Kapoor and try a new thought!

Awww, Roop, you always are so encouraging!! Thank you so much behna!! I jus put up the first part, hope you like it! It aint too long, as usual, I prefer smaller and quicker updates owing to my short concentration span pertaining to a line of thought!

Yaar, I was attempting something that I didnt see, ebing attempted here and also, something I had not attempted before.... and wanted to know , if people would be interested inr eading before I began posting here!! Thank you soooooooo much everyone who read and encouraged me. Your encouragement means a lot to me,.... its only you guys who give me the reason to think diff and write and share it here as well!! Your honest feedback always helps me think diff and attempt something new and write abt varied topics as well!!

This is the first ever time I am writing a short FF on a relation that I have only written abt as a peom in hindi or english but not as a FF! I hope I can do justice to this relation that is so much a part of our lives and that we live through every day!!

Do let me know , if you feel that I am not doing complete justice to the thought or the relation so that I am improve and correct myself!!
