The horn of the car blew loud as swayam tried making the car in front of him move. The long traffic jam was give him a headache and on top of that, the girl right beside him has refused to talk about anything.
"Tum theek ho??" Swayam asked Tanya who was fully drown in her own dreamland. Facing the outside views, her mind was functioning it its own accord as she worried about taani. How much she wished to stay by her side?! Her bleeding unconscious face still flashed in the back of her mind. The moment she saw her condition, she had become too numb to react. All thanks to swayam who managed the situation lest she had lost her senses after seeing the accident.
"Tanya!!" He called her a little loudly making her snap out of her thoughts. She looked at him with a completely flushed face.
"Are you ok?!!" He asked again getting only a slight nod from her. She again turned towards the window leaving him to fight with the traffic alone. While her eyes transfixed on the mirror, her mind drew back to the moment that happened a few hours ago.
Swayam moved out of Rey's ward with a small smile on his face. Seeing his brother alright, he was more than happy and after realising that he was indirectly approving Tanya; who was by the way their business rival's daughter, there was no bounds of his happiness. But soon his smile vanished seeing the still and numb face of tanya. She looked as if someone just stole away the most precious thing of her life. Staring at the ground aimlessly, it was quite evident from her face that she was greatly affected by this accident. But why? The answer is probably far away still quite close to him. He sat on his knees while facing her. His hands rest on hers assuring her that everything is fine.
"Doctor ne kaha hai, sab theek hai.." He assured her. Her eyes moved instantly to face his as soon as she heard the comment. A wave of relaxation passed through her as she exhaled a deep breathe along with a little warm tears. He was confused. Utterly confused. Why was she so affected? But the next moment made him forget everything else. Her arms snaked around his neck as she hugged him tightly while resting on the chair. His balance lost a little as she completely transferred her weight on him. He hold her waist while rubbing her back to calm her down as she started crying badly in his arms. It was unusual bliss to feel her so close. The questions running in his mind, disappeared automatically as she clinged more to him. While he was busy in soothing her down, her mind regained composure and soon it worked in the favor of her wish. She drew back to him in a little bit of embarrassment and reluctance.
"Tum formalities complete kar lo. Mein yaha wait karti ho.." She told him not ready to face his gaze. He nodded with a smile before moving towards the reception to clear the bills and formalities. She looked at her retreating back finding the best opportunity to meet taani. She wiped her tears as she made her way towards her ward taking all the precautions that no one would catch her. After all, it was not appropriate for their plan.
Passing through the corridor, she finally reached a private ward with taani still lying on the bed, unconscious. The effect of medicines was still not over. A single nurse was checking her vitals as per the instructions of the doctor. Thinking it to be unsafe to meet taani in front of the nurse, she decided to take it the other way. She entered the ward with a little concerned but a more professional look.
"Ab kaisi hai ye??" She asked the nurse who looked at her in confusion.
"Aap kaun?" She asked.
"Mein Mr. Swayam Singhania ke saath ho. Ye unhi ke bhai ke saath yaha aai thi. Right?!! Swayam told me to check on her once. After all, she is our responsibility too." She said being thoroughly professional.
"She is completely fine mam. Bas kuch der mein inhe hosh aa jayega." The nurse said with a smile before concentrating back on her vitals. After having a last look on taani's face and making sure that she was fine, she reluctantly moved out of the place, to avoid getting caught.
The car stopped with a screeching sound making the backseaters jerk a little. Taani looked outside only to find a completely deserted house, far off from the city. After a long drive, they had finally reached the place.

She moved out of the car followed by him. He looked at the farmhouse. Being situated away from the hustle city and even out of the way from the highway, it was a place hard to find. He led her inside after sending the driver away. With not even a single caretaker in the house, it was expected to be looking more like a haunted house. But all thanks to swayam, he had arranged the major necessity for the two in this far off place. She crossed the living room and led upstairs only to reach the wide balcony alongside a huge bedroom. It was a lavish house with an unfortunate fate. Right in front of the balcony stood a huge and magnificent forest and a river that pass alongside the big bungalow. Sensing fresh air after a long time, she closed her eyes to feel the cold wind on her face. It felt extremely light and elated. She felt happy after a long time. But her simple rejuvenating technique didn't last long as she suddenly heard his scream. Her eyes jerked towards her back finding him wincing in pain while holding his injured hand. Like a magnet had been attracting them, she swiftly ran towards him and hold his injured hand with complete cautiousness. He looked at her in daze. This was the second time, for god sake. Is he dreaming? Or is she really getting concerned for her? He was too lost to notice that she had already led him towards the bedroom to find the first aid box. He stood still beside the edge of the bed while she continued searching the first aid. Soon getting hold of it, she made him sit on the bed while folding his sleeves upwards to get a better view of the injury. She looked at the wound wrapped in white dressing. It looked a little open with blood oozing out of it quite slowly.
"You should be careful.." She said normally while inspecting the wound. He unknowingly smiled.
"Are you sure you are ok, taani?!" He asked raising his eyebrow. She looked at him confused. "I mean..achanak se meri itni care?!!" He smirked looking at her while she only reciprocated with a glare. Soon her eyes shifted back to the wound as she carefully opened the dressing.
"Its not care. Its just the payback." she said with a straight face still concentrating on the dressing. She felt his confused gaze on her. "Zyada mat socho, kabhi tumne bhi meri jaan bachayi thi...mein bas ussi ka payback kar rahi hu.." She explained.
"Ye jaante hue bhi ki mein tumhara ENEMY ho?!" A large smirk played on his lips. As if she didn't find any need to answer, she kept quiet. He looked at her face which had become a little frowned after his statement. Her eyes which always carried hatred for him were suddenly showing a soft corner for him. Just a night before and she had excused him of destroying her life. Her anger was completely evident when she came out of the party and now a single accident suddenly made her changed so much. What was going inside her mind?
"You don't believe them. Do you??" He asked as if reading her mind. She looked at him shocked but again refused to answer. Little did she knew he already knew the answer. "But why?? You've got all reasons to believe that I cheated on you..."
"I never said that I don't believe them." She said as if least interested. "I know you played on me and everything was running by your mind.." Anger visible in her eyes as she spoke that. He became a little alert expecting her fierce face to come forward. "..but mein utni bhi bewakoof nahi jitna tum mujhe samajhte ho. Agar sab kuch tum kar rahe hote, to kal tumpe ye attack nahi hota...jis din tumne meri jaan bachayi, may be vo tumhara plan tha...but kal raat mujhe uss party mein le jaana tumhara plan nahi tha...kyunki agar tum actually ye sab plan kar rahe hote to tum mujhe uss party mein kabhi nahi pahochne dete. After all, mujhe sach pata chalna, tumhare liye profitable nahi hai. Right?! Mr. Reyaansh Singhania!!" She emphasised her points. He looked at her surprised. No doubt, he always knew she was beauty with brains. But there was always a block in his mind that she is too emotional to understand the depth of this game. But today, she cleared that block too. He was in his deep thoughts while she sucessfully dressed his wound. He suddenly jerk out of his thoughts as he felt the bed-mats getting lighter with she getting up and placing the first aid box back to its place.
"To iska matlab, tum ye sab sirf isliye kar rahi ho, because you want to PAYBACK?!!" He said getting disheartened. She jerked a little at his question but soon regained her composure. Silence prevailed as no answer came from her side. As soon as she placed the box back to its position, she started moving out of the room. Frustration built inside him as she completely avoided his question. Her steps towards the door suddenly halt as he gripped her wrist tightly and pulled her back, facing him. She looked at him with stern and unaffected face while anger ran in his veins.
"Mein tumse kuch pucha, taani?!! Answer me!!!" His voice was deep and intense, creating havoc in her heart.
"Mein tumhe answer karna zaroori nahi samajhti.." Her voice sounds normal while she tried to free her hand from his strong grip.
"Not that easy taani. You know me, right?! I can take your anger, your hatred but not your silence. You have to tell me ki tum ye sab kyun kar rahi ho.."His grip on her wrist got tight but instead of wincing in pain, her eyes sparkled with fresh anger provoking in her. Their ego clashed yet again and this time too, no one backed down. They were ready to fight but admittance and submitting is not something they are used to.
"Give your brain a break!! I am doing all this because I want to payback. Mujhe tumhara koi ehsaan nahi chahiye!! Just leave me alone!!" She said and soon jerked her hand out of his grip. Leaving him in daze, she quickly left the place while he kept looking at the ground, trying to absorb her words. Her words were daunting him but her eyes kept on saying that it was a lie. He was stuck. His anger grew again and this time reaching to the level of business tycoon Reyaansh Singhania's evil mind. He left the room in haste as he followed her. Finding her sitting downstairs, cursing under her breathe, he reached her with heavy steps. She was frustrated much on her own changing behavior towards him while he was boiling in anger. He grabbed her arm as he pulled her up looking straight into her eyes.
"Not that easy, Miss. Taani Shekhawat!!" He hissed in anger. For the first time ever, he had called her full name. Knowing the fact that he had already been knowing everything, she didn't look surprised. "I am so sorry, but you can't get rid of me so soon." He gave his devil grin to her only to get an equally fierce look in her eyes. "You are STUCK with me, here...ALONE. And believe me, I get what I want." He smirked again. She shrugged off her hand from his grip.
"Don't you dare!!" She warned him.
"I will..." He whispered coming closer to her face. A grin was permanently marked on his face. "Tumhe nahi lagta, tum kuch bhool rahi ho??" He gets a little away seeing her confused face from his question. "Yaad karo taani, tum...mein...ek room mein...tumne mujhse kuch maanga tha...aur badle mein meine tumse ek promise maanga tha.." He tried acting all innocent while she understood everything what he was talking about.
"Kya tum meri madad karoge?"
"Ek shart pe!!" He said with a grin for a second hiding his all feelings for her. She looked at him in confusion while he continued smirking at her. "Tum mujhe jo mein maangunga vo dogi!" He stated making her dumb for a second.
"Theek hai.." She said keeping her attitude.
"Kuch yaad aaya??" He disturbed her thoughts.
"I should have known...tumse aur umeed bhi kya ki jaa sakti hai.." She felt disgusted on him.
"Wait!! Wait!! Don't think too high Miss. Shekhawat." He talked with her in all business attitude. "Khud ko itna bhi special mat samjho. Don't worry, mein tumse kuch aisa vaisa nahi maanguga.." He smirked at her. "Mujhe to bas ek cheez chahiye...and as per the rule..tum mujhe mana nahi karogi." He stepped towards her.
"Kya chahiye tumhe?" She asked in confusion while his mind already played well prepared organizing what he had to ask. He was going to turn the tables now.
