Harry is the one with good sight because he is a seeker and seeker's have to look for the tiny snitch. When the trio became friends, Hermione lent it to him and it turned out to be pretty interesting.

Before the Gryffindor First Years's first Flying lesson, Hermione was reciting stuff from the book and Neville was the only one listening intently and he seemed to be hanging on to every word. Neville is the buck tooth.

This was on HP wikia, I think, but I read somewhere that it is written in Quidditch Through the Ages that earlier people used a fat bird called Snidget in place of the Golden Snitch.
