No time for love?

Neha Mehta and Vinod Singh have drifted apart because they're not working on the same show anymore

Neha Mehta (who played the title role in Mamta before Narayani Shastri stepped into her shoes last week) and Vinod Singh (original Aayushman) have drifted apart.

The couple, which became close on the sets of Aayushman, is barely in touch these days.

A reliable khabru from Tellytown tells us Neha and Vinod have outgrown their once close friendship.

"They were no ugly fights or anything. The relationship simply fizzled out.

At one point, Vinod used to be very protective about Neha, but not anymore."

Neha refuses to acknowledge that she was in a relationship with Vinod, but admits that they don't 'catch up' as often as they used to.

"Earlier, we used to call each other at least four times a week and meet at least once.

Now, both of us have become very busy and are not in touch as much. It's simply because we are not working on the same show together.

A lot has been written about us being a couple. That started after an incident when Vinod stood up for me against a painter on the sets of Aayushman," she says.

The story goes that Vinod assaulted a painter outside Cinevistaas' studio because he ran into Neha while she was walking in a corridor with him.

Believing the painter's brush with the actress was no accident, Singh beat him up badly. The painter took up the matter with the Cine Workers Association, who promptly complained to the police and an FIR was filed against Vinod.

Vinod, for his part, quips, "How do you expect Neha to be with me all the time? She has been shooting 18 hours for Mamta everyday. But yes, Neha and I are still friends."
