Why women defend men?

Mothers know everything yet they keep defending their sons. Even in real life, in case of Delhi gang rape, Mumbai gang rape, the mothers of accused kept defending them, even after their sons confessed to have committed the crime.

They will allege their sons are innocent, can never do such things, were led astray by bad company or were falsely implicated in case.

Wives also madly defend husbands. Eg., wives of Shiney Ahuja and Inder Kumar (his wife is defending him despite all medical reports confirming rape and torture!).

Be it rape, dowry, domestic violence or other cases, why do women defend their husbands and sons so much even despite proof and confession?

Why they remain in denial?

They have no conscience as women or human beings? Blinded by attachment? Do they mentally feel compelled to support men? Feel inadequate without husband or son? (Or brother?)

What is your take on it?

It shocks me literally. I mean do they love their son/husband/BF/brother/father that much that they prefer to close their eyes and act blind ? It's shocking. Don't they even feel disgusted of defending a rapist/murderer and what not. I mean I will die of shame. Sometimes few families are shameless and heartless like the Goenkas for whom power and money matter more than anything but still it's quite shocking. 😕 🤢

Agree with u 100% but for my thniking is ...Shakhi love her son but she love her family reputation more then love 😒

You have asked a very valid question.

In Indian Culture where a husband is a "Devta" and having a Son is more important to further your lineage and where women are second class citizens and are brainwashed since childhood that men are Gods and can do no wrong.

Then women growing up in that environment learn to defend and protect them at all costs. In a Patriarchal society where women's are looked down upon for their thinking and are constantly asked to be quiet and do what they are born for is to produce a male heir and look after the needs of their husbands, fathers and brothers then after bringing up their sons in an indulgent and spoilt manner seems to become their second nature to protect and defend them at whatever cost.

The men are never taught that women are their equal and just as smart and if not smarter that they are, and are capable human beings and need to be respected and heard just like men.

This Neanderthal thinking has to take a giant leap into the 21st Century before there will be any change where women will be equal and respected for being a woman and treated with due consideration.

I think for women, their only achievement is husband and bearing a male heir. It is like attaining moksha for them. They worship men blindly and overlook their mistakes. Sakshi scolded her daughter Kangana for low marks and meeting that boy stealthily. But no scoldings for boy unless blunder is huge.

Poor women defend boys because they worry who will earn. Rich ones worry about who will handle empire and elevate them ftom queen to Rajmata status.

I heard Shiney Ahuja was really innocent, no? 😕 Anyway, that's another issue!

On topic, I understand why mothers defend their children! They are mothers after all. They don't want any bad things to happen with their children! I ain't supporting it, but still it's understandable.

Donno why wives do it especially the rich ones you have mentioned! Probably because they do not want to face the social embarrassment! Our society is very judgemental and insesitive! On top of that, as you have mentioned, still many women even the modern, educated ones think that having a 'normal' family would be their ultimate accomplishment as a woman!

Its a kind of denial I feel..they cnt accept tht sumthn this heinous happened not only in their lives but involved their loved ones..and tht they are at fault..its a crumbling of their world and they cnt tolerate it so they refuse to accept it..
