Chapter 3
"Sharon! Tum yaha?!" Rey gulped down seeing her fuming face.
"Mein tumhe batana zaroori nahi samajhti. Ye meri best friend ka ghar hai. Mein jab chahe yaha aa sakti ho." She snapped at his face and moved inside. Finding the apt opportunity, he mimicked her sarcastically. While looking at her back, he was about to close the door when he heard a loud shriek.
"Abbe! Dekh ke band nahi kar sakta kya??" Swayam shouted on Rey while holding his red hand which had come in between the door while Rey was closing it.
"Tu bhi aaja! Bas teri hi kami thi." Rey said while getting even more sarcastic.
The living room lightened by a single tube light, found three people sitting on the couch in utmost silence. No one spoke anything. While Sharon was glaring at swayam once in a while, swayam would simultaneously mutter a sorry with a pout. On the other hand, Rey was busy in yawning now and then and looking at the duo with sleepy eyes.
"Yaar ye kaam to tum dono apne ghar pe bhi kar sakte the!" Rey said finally breaking the silence. Swaron looked at him in confusion. "Arre! Mera matlab..bas itni der se ek dusre ko ghoore ja rahe ho. Na kuch bol rahe ho aur mein kuch bolu vo to tum dono ko pasand hi nahi hai.." He yawned again.
"Exactly! To abhi tu kyun bol raha hai?!" Swayam hissed at him.
"Kyunki mujhe sona hai yaar! Tum dono ki tarah mere paas itna faaltu time nahi hai ki raat ke 12 baje mein ladai karne beth jao. As if, iss duniya mein aur kuch interesting hai hi nahi, karne ke liye!"
"To tum jao sone! Hum dono ne tumhe nahi roka!!" Sharon said still in her anger.
"Agar mein yaha se hila to kal taani mujhe hila degi. Waise hi uski vo south wali galiyan mujhe samajh nahi aati, upar se jab vo gusse mein maarti hai to aisa lagta hai rape kar rahi hai.." He felt a current flowing through his spine as he imagined her violent avatar.
"To ab hum kare kya?! Taani so chuki hai. Aur jab tak vo kuch nahi bolti, mein vapas ghar nahi jaongi." Sharon looked at swayam with anger in her high pitch voice.
"To theek hai! Mein bhi wapas nahi jaonga!!" Swayam stood up looking at her with same attitude.
"Fine! To pade raho apne iss kaamchor friend ke saath." She pointed at rey making him gasp a little. From where did he came in this fight?! " Mein jaa rahi hu taani ke kamre mein!" She stamped her foot and started moving towards taani's room. While Rey was least interested in their fight, as soon as he heard her last words, he ran towards the door to stop her.
"No!!!" He stood in front of taani's bedroom while hanging his hands in air, not allowing her to step inside. "Tum andar nahi jaa sakti!"
"Kyun nahi ja sakti??" She raised her eyebrows making him a little tensed.
"Um..vo..vo..andar kamra bahot ganda hai..aur tumhe to gandagi bilkul pasand nahi. Right?!"
"Rey, tum ye faaltu excuse kisi aur ke saamne banana. Mein aur swayam tumhare aur taani ke relationship ke baare mein sab kuch jaante hai. To phir hum se kya chupa rahe ho?" Rey felt his feet getting cold. Though they knew everything, but only God knows how will sharon react when she'll find taani in half naked state on the bed, drunk. Though she knew about their 'status', Rey knew very well that she was never happy with taani and him getting into this weird shortcut relationship of bedmates.
"No!!" He shouted on her face making her shocked. " I mean..tum guest room mein so jao.." He lowered his voice and said in a sort of pleading way.
"Fine. But swayam uss room mein nahi aayega!" She glared at him.
"To phir mein kaha jaonga?!" Swayam's face flushed with the recent announcement.
"Yaar, aaj raat couch pe kaam chala le. Meri izzat ka sawal hai." Rey whispered in his ear. Sharon looked at them suspiciously but soon shrugged it off. Reyam and their bromance was something no one could understand. Swayam glared at rey who quickly went inside his room and closed the door behind him leaving poor swayam alone in the living room to spend his night.
Rey took a deep breathe as he finally assured that everything was fine. With a last look on taani, who was sleeping peacefully, he too slipped inside the bed. Tired and exhausted, there was no way sleep could escape him.
The sun rays penetrated the glass of the window entering inside the messy room and falling on the sleeping face of taani. She groaned in sleep, turning her face to the other side, but it was too late. Her sleep was already disturbed. With irritation on her morning face, she opened her eyes only to find Rey sleeping right beside her with his usual antics on the bed. His mouth wide open and saliva dripping on the pillow beneath his head, he gave a cute picture of a sleeping baby. With his usual white vest and micky mouse boxers on, he was lying on his stomach while his one leg hanging outside the bed in air and other on taani's legs. Right behind him hanged a musical clock which was about to strike 7. As soon as her eyes reached the two hands of clock, she gasped in shock. She was late. She jerked out of bed, throwing his leg which was over her, to him. Getting out of the blanket, she quickly started searching her clothes to cover her half naked body. Little did she realised, she had waken him up too.
"Kya kar rahi hai taani?! Itni subah subah neend kharab kar di!" He said in his morning soar voice with eyes still half closed.
"Subah subah?!! Just look at the clock dumbo! Subah ke 7 baj rahe hai! Mein office ke liye late ho jaongi!" She shouted on him.
"Vo to waise bhi hona hi tha. Bahar tera intezaar kayamat jo kar rahi hai." He rubbed his eyes to get the sleep out of them.
"Oh no!! Phir se!!" She looked at the closed door as if she can see through it and imagined the entire scenario.
"Kal raat ko hi aa gaye the dono. Pata nahi iss baar kis baat pe jhagda hua hai?! Tu bhi na taani, kaise kaise dost banati hai!" He said as he picked his pajamas from a corner and put them on.
"Oh hello! Mujhe bolne se pehle khud ko dekh! Swayam is your chuddy buddy. Aur agar Sharon ko ussi se shaadi karni thi to isme mein kya karu?!" She snapped at him.
"Teri nahi! Galti to uss pandit ki hai! Uncle aunty ne bola tha, beta!! Thoda ruk jao. Shaadi baad mein kar lena." He mimicked sharon's mom. "Itne samajhdaar parents ne itne pyaar se samjhaya! Par nahi! Dono ko chipakna tha! To lo! Ab bhugto! Hadh hai! 2 saal ho gaye shaadi ko par abhi bhi bachho ki tarah ladte hai. And the most amusing fact...dono ladke tere paas aa jaate hai! Tere paas!Tu ek baat bata taani, tu sachmein sirf photographer hi hai na!! Ya tune koi side business bhi khol rakha hai. I mean TAANI SUBRAMANIAN- THE MARRIAGE CONSULTANT." He said sarcastically as the whole anger came out on her.
"Ho gaya!" She said least affected. He nodded as he gets nothing from her. "Ab mein jao!" Before he could say anything, she pushed him out of her way as she head towards the bathroom to get her morning shower. Rey also went outside to look for the situation.
Sharon was making coffee for all while swayam was silently observing her. His mind was trying to decode the most problematic question of the century. How to make your wife happy? Little did he knew, the answer was far to find. Rey entered the kitchen and without waiting for anyone's response took a cup of coffee prepared by sharon. While a yawn escaped his mouth, he sat on the dining table opposite to swayam in his vest and pajamas and started enjoying his morning coffee in half sleepy mode. His eyes were on the verge of closing while the edge of mug in between his lips as the coffee was about to slip inside. It was when he felt a kick on his leg making him shout in pain.
"Kya hua??" Sharon asked from the kitchen counter. Rey glared at swayam who had just kicked him under the table. Swayam made a pleading look making him shrug off the topic.
"Kuch nahi vo..coffee bahot garam hai to mooh jal gaya.." He made an excuse to sharon who again slipped on her work.
"Kya kar raha hai tu?!" He whispered to swayam after beding down a little on the dining table.
"Kuch kar yaar?? Subah se baat nahi kar rahi!"
"To isme kaunsi nayi baat hai! Yaar meine tujhse pehle bhi kaha tha, ye shaadi ke chakkar mein mat pad. Mast reh bachelor ki tarah. Par nahi tujhe to shaadi karni thi na?!!! Ab bhugto! Arre dekh aur seekh mujse aur taani se!!" He patted his shoulder in self praise. "Hum dono na aise faaltu chakkar mein padte hai aur na vo pyaar..mohabbat wali illogical thiking rakhte hai. Bas ek dusre ki help se apni gaadi smoothly chala raha hai. Aur tu!! Teri gaadi to roz khaddo mein phansti hai, phir jaati hai garage mein aur waha jaake jab tak mechanic teri gaadi ke 2-4 bolts sahi nahi kar deta, vo vapas track par nahi aati.." He said as he referenced swaron's married life as a crock car.
"Sharon bilkul sahi kehti hai. Tu kisi kaam ka nahi hai. I wonder taani tujhe kab tak iss ghar mein tikne deti hai." He snapped at rey.
"Tu meri fikar chod..pehle apni biwi ko sambhal. Aaj to pakka jwalamukhi phatega!" Rey giggled but supressed it soon as he found sharon arranging the plates for breakfast. Soon taani arrived out of the room, completely dressed up and ready for her office.

"Good morning guys!" She greeted Swaron with a warm smile. "Tum dono subah subah...sab theek to hai na!" She eyed at swayam who was putting a sad pout on his face while sharon continued glaring at him. No later Sharon too sat along woth the trio as everyone got the breakfast served.
"Ab tum dono kuch bologe?!! Iss baar kya hua?" Taani came straight to the point. That was enough for sharon. She threw her plate away from her and looked at taani with a little tears in her eyes.
"This man!! Ugh!! Mom was right. She said ki shaadi baad mein kar lena. But nahi!! Mein hi bewakoof thi jo pagalo ki tarah iss insaan se shaadi karne ke liye zid kar bethi. Sab keh rahe the, ki wedding postpone kar do. Give your relationship some more time but nahi! Mujhe to shaadi karne ki jaldi thi. Sab meri galti hai. Agar uss waqt meine thoda wait kar liya hota to shayad aaj mujhe ye din nahi dekhna padta!!" The entire anger she was holding in vent out in front of taani- the only soul who could understand her.
Taani looked at her in despair. Sharon and her hormones. Her eyes moved towards Rey who was acting oblivious to everything as he stuffed the whole breakfast in his mouth. No wonder, he was not interested to be a part of the conversation cum fighting. Taani shrugged him off and shifted her concentration back on swaron.
"Par hua kya hai??" Taani looked at both swayam and sharon for an answer.
"Swayam ne mujhe PREGNANT kar dia!!" She shouted like hell while taarey looked at her as in dumb. Sharon was still glaring at swayam who just wished to hide somewhere. Silence prevailed in the room.
"WTH!! You are pregnant??" Taani finally broke off the silence. Sharon didn't spoke. Rey was looking at her with stuffed mouth and wide opened eyes.
"Ismein meri kya galti hai?! The protection failed sharon.." He tried explaining to her, yet again.
"You stupid! Tumhari wajah se ab mujhe apna career, apna job..sab chodke ghar pe bethna padega!" Sharon shouted again.
"Sharon..just calm down yaar!" Taani forwarded a glass of water to her. "Zyada tension aise cases mein achhi nahi hoti.." She said with concern
"Wait! Wait! Iska matlab very soon tum dono mummy-papa ban jaoge!" Rey confirmed with a surprised face. "Waah swayam! Tu to buddha ho raha hai!!" He laughed hard only to get glares from three pair of eyes. He zipped his mouth again only for his well being.
"To ab tum dono ne kya socha hai.." Taani said. "Kya karoge?"
"Kuch sochne ka time hi kaha mila?? Jaise hi Sharon ko pata chala vo mujhe pe chillate hue, yaha aa gayi..aur ab na baat kar rahi hai aur na mujhe explain karne de rahi hai." Swayam said. He was helpless.
"Kya explanation doge tum?!! Protection ki responsibility tumhari thi. Tum itni se cheez ka dhyan nahi rakh sakte kya swayam?" Sharon gets another outburst on him.
"Arre ho gayi galti!! Ab kya jaan le logi tum meri! Tum to aise bol rahi ho jaise meine tumhara rape kiya ho!!" Swayam shouted back on her.
"Guys just shut up!!!" Taani glared at both of them. "Iska abhi sirf ek hi solution hai.."
"Solution hai??" Rey looked surprised.
Taani glared at him. "Tum apne khane pe concentrate karo." She looked at swaron. "..aur tum dono meri baat suno! Tum dono ki shaadi ko abhi sirf 2 saal hue hai, mein jaanti hu..you guys are not ready for a baby, mujhe pata hai..par tum dono ko ab iss situation ko face karna hi hoga. You have 2 options right in front of you- either keep the baby or get it aborted. Simple! Aur ha! Decide tum dono ko SAATH mein karna hai..and please! Don't make any decision in hustle." She got up to get her bag.
"Mujhe office ke liye late ho raha hai, so I am going.." She told everyone. "Tum dono ghar jao aur aaram se, thande dimag ke saath socho..and then finalise your decision. Ok?!" She said and started leaving but before that came the much missing voice of Rey.
"Ghar jaane se kuch nahi hoga..mujhe pata hai ye dono wapas jhagda karke yahi aa jayenge!" He said munching his food altogether.
"To tumhare paas koi better idea hai.." Taani asked him with attitude.
"Of course! Its really simple. Inn dono ko chahiye ek choti si HOLIDAY!" He said facing taani with confidence. Swaron shrugged his idea while taani was in deep thinking.
"Actually...that's a great plan!" She smiled back to rey much to his surprise. "Great Rey! I like the idea." She smiled back at swaron who were confused because of her smirk.
"What's so great in this idea? Hum dono to shayad uss holiday pe bhi ladne lag jayenge!" Swayam said with a hopeless face.
"Aisa kuch nahi hoga.." Taani said. "Kyunki tum dono akele nahi jaoge, hum chalenge tumhare saath.." She winked at rey who was looking amused with the plan. Swaron were highly confused.
"Look! Hum sab ek choti se holiday pe jaenge. Apne monotonous schedule se door, khud ko kuch time denge. Tum dono jab apni regular life se bahar nikloge, tumhari life mein ek fresh change aayega to ho sakta hai ki tumhe apni problem ka solution bhi mil jaaye! What's say?!"
"I don't know.." Sharon was still not sure.
"Its great yaar! In fact, I know hum kaha jayenge!" Rey said with a proud smile. "Goa!!" Taani gets more excited. She looked at swaron who were still confused.
"Guys! What are you thinking? Just trust me and pack your bags..." She looked at them with a little hope. Although, it was for them, she herself was dying to take a holiday.
"Fine!!" Swaron said in unison. Rey and taani high-fived as finally the work was done.
"But wait!!" Rey stopped the celebration. "Ek problem hai.." He looked at taani in worry.
"Kya??" Taani looked confused.
"Tera vo khurana!! Vo tujhe leave de dega??" Rey said. Taani thought about this as she realised that he was right. How could she skip this thing?
"Ab kya kare??" Sharon said in a tired state.
"Tum log sirf packing karo." Taani said bringing her confidence back. "..aur mein, uss Khurana ko sambhalti ho!"
Note- A few things that might get you confused.
- Rey doesn't own the house. Its taani's house and Rey is living as tenant since she can't afford all the expenses alone.
- If you remember that scene from Chapter 1 where Rey took a few liqour bottles and handed them to someone in return getting money. He actually works as a middle man who transfers the wine bottles from illegal wine shops to big hotels in low prices. All he gets in return is some commission. Other wise, he is jobless. He does it for the sake of money.
