First and foremost, we should never get too excited over a precap as you never know how it plays out ... I know a lot of people were worried about yesterday's precap (Remember this line when I get to tomorrow's precap 😆)

Many thought it would show Jodha getting all the credit for the theerth yaatra tax ... But I truly felt that while Jodha was definitely an influence, it was Jalal's show and decision all the way and what a milestone decision and episode!

Which gets me to my take 5 filled with Jalal's action, Todarmal, and of course the precap:

(1) The first scene of Jalal. Atgah, and Todarmal coming into the awaam: Loved it for its cuteness including Jalal's til and how it reminded me of the movie, especially when he angrily asked, "Do you know who I am?" 😆

A few other things I loved:
- Jalal did remember his encounter with the pilgrimage tax as Badal ... I thought they would forget that 👏
- I also liked the fact that corruption also came out of this issue not only the pilgrimage tax- maybe the CVs are trying to show creativity here ... As well as they asked the price of rice instead of gehu 😆
- Phew, and I sighed a huge sigh of relief that the CVs are following the movie more and not trying to do anything hatke anymore ... 😉

(2) Jalal in Jodha's room: a few things I liked about the scene
- The focus on Jalal removing his shoes ... Always such a cute gesture 😳
- Jalal's love for the painting and how he speaks to it so openly ... how he always wanted to talk to Jodha ... Who knew Sharifuddhin's painting will play such an important role in the story 😆
- A good transition to the flashback with the box ... Instead of an abrupt move to a random flashback scene we had not scene before 👏
- It was the usual nok-jhok type conversation between Jodha and Jalal that I miss so much 😳

Also, I am so excited Jodha will be back soon ... I am sick of Moti's questions for the Shehenshah.😆

(3) Jalal's logic in the Diwan-e-khaas: I love it how Jalal squashed all opposition on the Diwan-e-Khaas particularly his arguments on the equality of Hindus and Muslims as his subjects as he proposed extending the tax to Muslims ... When Hindus and Muslims were equal in serving his Sultanate, why should the rules be different? And, I guess these words were the purpose of the flashback with Jodha. However, as I said, more than the words, I loved his courage to take a stand and drive change.

This guy still does know how to build a convincing case! And the assertive stamp on the bill showed that Jalal meant business! And I loved every bit of it! ⭐️👏

(4) This Todarmal means business: It is great to see Todarmal take an active role in the passage of the pilgrimage tax ... I am fine if Jodha influences Jalal's bills, but it is about time one of the ministers does some work ... Poor Atgah Khan is always doing "Hukum ki taamil ho" and Maan Singh has been promoted from a blank expression to smiling.😆

But jokes apart, in the movie, Todarmal only accepted that the passage of the tax would hurt the treasury ... Here, Todarmal made the case that in the long run it will benefit the sultanate as there will be greater prosperity and happiness and less riots, etc. to manage. 👏

(5) Precap: You know what I loved - Jodha saying that I want to rectify my mistake and go back to Agra. I first checked if I heard right and then jumped up and down that she accepted she made a mistake. 👏⭐️😃

Ek shabd ki keemat tum kya jaano Jodha Begum? I always knew reforms would be the way to Jodha's heart!

Was I the one who said don't get too excited about the precap ... That is only when you have a bad feeling about it ... Not when you have a good feeling about it! What is the worst that can happen- it can be Bharmal's dream? See if you could laugh at that, you are now prepared for the worst tomorrow. 😆

So now if Jodha is ready to come back to Agra, how are they going to drag till IPL? Well, I think they will follow something like the movie ... The lovebirds will be interrupted by Shivani-Tej's wedding preparations, they will be hesitant to atart the conversation again, and the Maham Anga's plot will put Jalal's life at risk. What say? 😉

So, what are your thoughts with the episode?

This was a lovely change of scenery if nothing else and one that served much purpose for Jalal, TM and Atgah! What I liked more was that they had to watch the ongoings without letting their royal 'airs' get in the way! Be it at the grocers or with the soldier. It is very difficult to sit back and not let who you are known - watch something wrong happening without revealing your authority! Yet, that is what Akbar had to do then, and Jalal does here now...

Thankfully, the second foul-mouthed grocer let on more than he should have and the scene with the soldier was telling enough for the Emperor to spur himself into action.

JODHA'S HOJRA
The scene in Jodha's hojra was more poignant than any scene of longing I've seen in Jodha Akbar till date.

'In your absence I've learnt the art of talking to your portrait' he said, holding back his tears!
What a beautiful moment that was - Jalal's earnest expressions combined with the situation and that soulful music in the background. Words weren't needed to express what he felt in her absence!
The CVs have done another justice to the scene here - Jodha's hojra that always used to be a brilliant sunny yellow is now a dismally drab blue in her absence. How apt!

I also loved what followed - another beautifully juxtaposed recollection - Jodha's pocket money trunk that reminded him of the right decision to take with regards to the 'Teerthkar'
Contrary to what many feel, I do not think that Jodha is getting credit for the changes he is making (at least not from anyone - bar Jalal and maybe HB)
It was a gesture of hers that he chose to delve upon and that set him on the right path.
There might be ten clues in front of you, but unless the investigator is sharp enough he/she cannot piece the pieces together and that is what is happening with Jalal. Todarmal, Atgah and Jodha are three people in his life leaving behind these clues in the form of gestures/actions/words and Jalal is the man in action - making it all happen!

DEK - The lawyer Jalal -
This scene felt like one from a 16th century thrilling law and order serial! (Damn that Jodha didn't see this side of her Shehenshah!)

Before I start, beautiful contrast on Jalal's face from the previous emotional night - the stern look and return of 'Tejas' on the Emperor's face, as he took the soldier to task was so striking!

At first, I thought Jalal's anger in the DEK was again something to do with Jodha, but I was glad that was not the case! His one line explained it all

'An emperor is a father to his subjects and when one of those children confesses that he would rather commit suicide than continue living a life like this do you have any idea the pain it causes the father/protector?'
Only a just man can be so driven on hearing words like this! Jalal is not a people-pleaser, Jalal is a leader!
He hates corruption and deceit - that is the one reason he's moving away from someone he's known forever (Ruqaiyya) that is the one reason he grew so incensed at DEK today!

What a lawyer he was (handsome, yes I had to slip this word in - and that damn, that pearl swaying at the top of his turban is just too distracting!) and with such biting straightforward matter-of-fact answers!
My only hope is that this streak continues. That this corrective phase of his is not a temporary one - that we get at least two of five episodes politically-based ones!

HIS POLICIES
The moment of the 'Tirthkar' announcement was one of true celebration - such a significant moment it was - I wish it'd lasted longer and that there'd been more fanfare about it! After all, it was one of Akbar's greatest achievements (or at least one that he's remembered by)

'Just because something has been happening for eons doesn't mean it's right' What beautiful lines!

I am glad that Atgah Khan - though a good soul - didn't blindly follow his king's advice and did put his reservations about abolishing the taxes in force. (Its these smaller touches of realism that's making the episodes very enjoyable again.)

There were so many lines Jalal spoke today - be it about rain being for one and all or be it about his services being loyally carried out by both Hindus and Muslims - I cannot recall all of it, but it did make for very thrilling screenplay!

'A Shehenshah's court runs successfully only when it is filled with talented and devoted people, not on the basis of religion!' was one of my favourites!

PRECAP
Again will wait to comment - but, I'm in dreamland!

I loved today's episode. Totally.

I really liked the flashback scene actually all of their FB have been cute and significant. It was good to see how Jodha put across her view. She spoke her mind and her views, I liked how even though being against the Pilgrimage tax system she didn't go to Jalal and said anything against it. She just did the things she was capable of doing, i.e, helping the people in her own way without going against anyone, this shows her goodness. And it influenced Jalal somewhere.😳

Jalal in the D-E-K was rocking. His every decision, every argument was on the spot and he should be given the full credit after all it is he who takes the final decision. And I loved the way he silent the people who were talking nonsense and lying to him, all in all a very good episode.😃

Jodha looked pretty in today's FB and the precap (), oh precap se yaad aya, I ain't getting my hopes high but those words by Jodha were music to my ears.

Last but not the least, awesome take on the episode Divi.😃

I really liked the FB! For ONCE Jodha was not insulting or demeaning in the name of a self-righteous lecture, but she was very respectful of Jalal but got her point across, immensely well. 😳

Jalal was the STAR, AS USUAL!

But one question- Why did he feel the need for a grape on his right cheek? 🤣

As for your questions about Ja-Jo's love story, I'm in for some much needed shaadi waalaa nok-jhok between this couple much as the Shivani-Tej wedding is the strangest premise for it
And Divi, half your take has been dedicated to TM sahab! 😆 You're bowled over my dear
I too loved how Jalal recalled his talk with the soldier about the Pilgrimage tax..
the way he spoke today makes it seem like he's been giving this some thought for a while now...only they never showed us ...maybe they could have shown him thinking about the 'Teerthkar issue when he had to lay low as that roadside dead-man'😆

Nevertheless, I'm very happy!

Somehow influenced by futuristic bollywoodized villains - those of the sixties seventies maybe 😆

No.

On TodarMal.

If Jalal continues this way, like an Imperial WUSS, I'll transfer my affections to TodarMal... Are you listening to me, Jalal. 😡
