These are few personalities that have been messed on this show
Hamida Bano- Hamida Bano was responsible for not only ensuring her son's safety aftermath of her husband's death but also for advicing Akbar to run his empire till he matured and even till her death. She was his major advisor all life. BK was in Akbar's life till 17 and Maham till 20 but Hamida was his major advisor till he was almost 62. She stopped Akbar from taking action on Jehangir for his bhagawat
But in this show Hamida has failed all expectations. She is only Jodha's mother/mother-in-law on this show. She has not been shown the powerful empress who adviced and handheld Akbar and made him Akbar the great that he was. You can make out how attached and close Akbar was to Hamida that he died within a year of her demise. Here in serial they have messed up this empress role royally and even maids like Maham, bahu's like Ruqaiah, all can come and speak agianst her, order her around and humiliate her that too in presence of Akbar. And she takes all this lying around?? Even Akbar dares misbehave with her in front of all and no reaction from her. Her character is not etched out correctly and fails to meet standards.
Atagah Khan- Atagah Khan played an important role before and after BK death and was like a father to Akbar. In Akbarnama once when Akbar risked his life in fight between Hawai and Ran bagha it says the courtiers and nobels ran to Atagah to come and tell Akbar to stop the fight. By that one incident is is obivous Akbar treated him like a father. Akbar was so close to him that he married Atagah's grand daughter to his son Murad and another of his grand daughter married Khusrau the elder grandson of Akbar. That from Akbar who never was in favour of his children(especially sons) marrying commoners can only say what was Atagah and his family respect in eyes of Akbar.
But in this show he looks like a doll with key that only repeats bhaja pharmaya apne huzoor. Even the relationship between Akbar and him is not developed properly. And his son Aziz foster brother of Akbar completely missing although he was such an important part of Akbar's family.
Ruqaiah- Ruqaiah was longest serving empress of mughal empire and even Jehangir did not dare take away her empress(Malika-e-aliya) designation although nur jahan arrived on scene. She was given the future emperor Khurram's care and responsibility to bring up by Akbar.
But here Ruqaiah is messed up character one moment she is angel next a devil next a hysterical person. There is no dignity left in this character and her family must be turning in their graves at her flip-flop potrayal especially Akbar and Jehangir.
Jodha - The great Mariam-uz-zamani who was Akbar's wife and future emperor Jehangir's mother was an astute business woman as well as warrior. She was a great supportive wife and loving mother and a matraichal figure at agra fort to all who guided others.
Here she is totally messed up. First it was her ghrina and misbehaviour with husband, now it is her zid and anger. Will any empress behave like this that too a highly educated and matured lady?? In 16th century lif span was 35-40 average and by 30 years many woman would be grandmothers if married at right age of that time. Here at 20 Jodha is acting like an immature child woman. She needs a taming of shrew lesson along with Ruqaiah from Akbar. And i am sure the real Akbar would have given them an even harder lesson if they dared behave with him like this show.
Jodha and Ruqaiah look more like Nur Jahan's than themselves who make husband dance like doll and manipulate and make him run around.
Akbar- Akbar the great one of the ten greatest emperors the world has/will ever seen till today in 5000 years history of world is reduced to a puppet by one and all. His strings are majorly help by first BK then Maham then Ruqaiah then Jodha thennn and so it goes around. He is like that madari ka bandar who obeys orders of foster father/milk mother/wives etc. I feel he is a 5 year old school boy who needs wives/milk mom holding his hand at all times and telling him what to do???
And seriously even Jehangir would not have bent for his wife Nur Jahan or her family as much as Akbar is bending for Jodha and her family. Jehangir would not have broken laws, by passed mughal rules etc to please Nur Jahan's family members. I understand love but this is slavery not love to be honest. You should rise in love not fall in love. Akbar is only falling and what a fall from a mighty Akbar the great to a ridiculed stonned Jalal the majnu on streets of Mathura.
