Before I begin my post, let me clear one thing I'm a big fan of Ragna and Kalpana, and have always considered her an angel. But today's episode really disappointed me and led me to think about a vital question...many a times people take decisions trying to be Mahaan and that usually involves a sacrifice and that leads me to think-is it a sacrifice or the easier way out.
Let me share a story of my best friend in college. A boy from her neighbourhood whom she knew for a long time proposed to her and she accepted after quite some time. That was because he was from a conservative family and she was from a modern liberal background. He was a really decent and nice boy and we all thought that he really loved her a lot. Time came when his parents came to know about their affair and created a ruckus. He then bowed down to his family pressure and told my friend that he would only marry her after his parents accepted her and wanted her to wait till their consent. HIs parents had sworn they would never consent as they had nothing against the girl except that she was from a different religion and liberal background. My friend pleaded with him and then very calmly left him . She eventually got married to some other guy and is very happy.
But at that point her reasoning was that she could no longer trust that boy and that he had betrayed her. he had promised her the world and treated her like she was the most important thing in his life. He had loved her knowing that she was from a different background than him . But when the time came to take a stand, he stood by his parents who were resenting her for the things that were not her fault and that he knew and loved about her for. If her knew his parents would never agree , why did he enter her life in the first place? and if she did so then why not have the guts to support her and stand by her.?
this is exactly what I feel about Kalpana...why did she not question Kamla even once about: Why should I not love Raghav? What about my dreams and my deisres? Am I not your beti? Don't I have the right to be happy?When Kamla slapped her she says that Raghav is Pakhi's love. Why doesn't Kalpana ask her what about Raghav's choice? Doesn't his choice matter? How am I at fault if Raghav loves me?
When Raghav tries to reason with Kamla, She stops him saying Aai nahi manegi...I really felt for her at that line coz it spoke of her million previous disappointments..how kamla had let her down every single time...But I atleast expected her to stand up and say I will stand by my love no matter what. She should have given some reassurance to Raghav.
The other thing that comes to mind is that we never really appreciate what we have but always chase that which we don't. Kalpana really doesn't appreciate Raghav's love coz she got it quite easily and unexpectedly. Raghav treats her like she is the whole world and yet all she cares about is running behind Kamla, who didn't spare her a single thought, not even in her dreams. How can she dismiss Raghav so easily and not say a word to Kamla about her injustice?
I think she's taking the easier way out coz she does to want to stand up to her mother, Paakhi and the whole Kapoor gang. By taking the higher stand she's taking the easier way out.
I sincerely hope Raghav makes her think and gives her a reality check and questions her about the promises she made to him and her betrayal when she says she will wait for her mother's approval. Or I hope Raghav gets drunk and Sammy comes and fight and gives her his two pence on how she has made a fool out of his friend and herself...Something anything...but NO TYAAG KUMARI PLEASE...
