I do not have any authority in history to debate the for/against views presented here. But if after 450 years if people say Sheryl Sandberg(COO of facebook) was fictional coz women COOs were non existent in 21st century, would that be true? Lets face it, positions of high authority occupied by women even today is less than 4%, a near negligible amount, so saying that they do not exist is not odd, But off course we will be ignoring the exceptions.I am sure Akbar indulged his favorite queen all for good reasons and I am sure she was an emancipated female, ahead of her times and could put her forward thinking to use only as Akbar's wife. ...If I have to choose between believing and disbelieving good and bad parts, I'd beleive the good and disbelieve the bad... thats my take on the natkiya rupantar...About the theory of Jalal being the injured party here... I'd say. Didn't Jo suffer for no fault during MC track, during the ben track... It's karma. But I hope he gets reunited with his mate soon coz they have to do a lot of good together. Its good that their love is based on hard tests and its time to put the tests to rest... finally!
Nice to hear from you, Minnie. 😊
M responding in 'instalments' to comments here for the last 2 days. My views are in sync with yours. About the natkiya rupanter/dramatization part, we all know, it would NEVER be in such a manner so as to satisy all of us(For Jo or Ja.) I also prefer, watching it, with a pinch of salt. We all know, it is NOT a documentary but a show.
Regarding the injured party, i can't agree more with you. It's just, as you said, she has ALSO suffered if he is suffering now(even she too at present). I am also looking forward to their re-union soon.
Finally, about the question of her "name" in particular, i would say, it's clear if one is ready to see, when even the Royal accounts mention her name. Instead of quoting any XYZ person, i give few WELL-KNOWN names.
1. Irfan Habib
2. Satish Chandra - Clearly, stated in his book(ISBN 81-7450-395-1), Pg-203, the name of Princess of Amer who married Akbar was Harka Bai, (he was member of NCERT group for revision of history text of Medieval India.) (can verify it. I have given ISBN number. 😉)
They all are renowned senior historians.
Irfan Habib is the recipient of Padma Bhushan Award, 2005 and a member of Royal Society of History. (Just google for him ONCE.) He contradicted Ashu's stand, and disagreed on ALMOST everything in his movie, when Ashu came to meet him.!!.😲😕(Search his interview.)
Can give MANY more names(of renowned authorities of history). BTW, If we want to dispute then, the SAME Internet(and also MANY "so-called historians") ALSO have a very bad image of Akbar (which is NOT correct), and they point to MANY adverse acts by him for proving their points. But, we BELIEVE(which is TRUE as far as i know) that he was a great ruler. Isn't this a selective belief.?. We believe what we want to.?.We believe about Akbar ignoring those nonsense views, but not about his wife.?. By overlooking EXisting facts about her.? Or not even bothering to read.?. Few days back i posted about divine vision relating to Akbar's marriage with HK. I got PMs asking for "proofs", despite mentioning Abu'l Fazl. Lol. Finally, posted a Miniature Painting from Akbarnama to SHOW that Akbar had this vision. 😕
Though i don't want to mention this,😉 but in Badshahnama Of Lahori and Shahjahannama of Latif, Shah Jahan's wife's name is NOT mentioned as Mumtaz Mahal. She is mentioned as Mumtaz-Uz-Zamani.😉 So, can we apply the same LOGIC and ask, then who was Mumtaz Mahal, then and from where this name came .?.😕 (And, believe me, even this point has been questioned and raised about Mumtaz Mahal's name, but NOT popularized and confused by the Digital Media. Hence, we do not know about this issue.!!..) Anyways, let all of them RIP. The irony is that - Many Issues are deliberately confused, despite existence of records.
Thnx a lot for your words. 😊
