Creating a loyal fan base and delivering the promise of great content seems to have reaped good dividend for certain Hindi fiction shows that have weathered (and almost demolished) competition on the same time band.
The frontrunners of TV shows which stood strong with impressive TVTs across respective time bands are shows like Balika Vadhu, Taarak Mehta K Ooltah Chashma, FIR, Pavitra Rishta, CID and Uttaran as they are slowly inching towards creating more benchmarks as they emerge as strong brands of the prime time band.

Audience's love for a particular character, according to actors, also plays a crucial role in determining the success of a show. Actor Shashank Vyas says, "The actor in me surely grew as Jagya (in Balika Vadhu) underwent so many transformations on screen portraying a variety of shades, giving me maximum satisfaction as a performer. It is motivating when your show crosses 500, 1000 or 1500 episodes as one feels good that audiences still love your character."
