Since this character has shades of othello... The story will begin after he falls in love with Paro...Ph is falling in love was easy .. He was starved for love.. He did not want a ruthless woman who just brings lust for him... Paro nurtured him... She needs him to protect her...and he is also attracted to her...
Maybe later on another male character will be introduced in the story..not Sumer...or aman... Which mohini will use to create insecurities in rudra..because he feels a woman's love is not permanent...

The character of Rudra is inspired by the character of Othello, but the story itself is not the same (ST clarified this). So I guess some may find the introduction of another male character interesting, but I really hope nothing like that happens 😛

Thanks Ganga (if I may call you so)...I do agree it looks as if its too soon. But in RR things are treated so differently. No MU stays longer than a week or so. Which is itself a big surprise. Everytime an MU is cleared it changes their equation...making their relationship way stronger than a couple who may be together for a longer time but just don't talk.

Ganga also something extremely important to this show is this couple interacts, is very very vocal about their feelings for each other. May it be their care, love, or what they don't like about each other. See Paro says, "Muje aap par bahut gussa aata hai" Now have we ever got to hear a lead say this in a fight?

We have gotten so used to shows having leads not talk, not communicate, get the worse out of the each other etc...this goes on for months. Here in RR the treatment of the story itself is different.

Two things...that again struck me...

1) When Paro told Rudra "Aaapko bohot mehnat karni padegi Major Sahab...Aapko mhar dil mein utarna padega...lekin joote utaar kar... (joote -something that we use to tread on, stamp out things...here it meant he would have to undo his emotional baggage, his issues and come to her)

2) Geetanjali pushing him to straighten things out between him and Paro. That is anothe reason Rudra wants Paro to forgive him.

Rudra is now wooing her. He does not know the right way...but is making an effort.. Paro is the one who is stubborn as always...and in her own way is making him do things that he has never done before.

See her dialogue as the end, "I ask for something very small compared to the maafi...after all I am your wife." She asked for bangles...for she had hated the ones he put on her the first time and he had walked all over them. She wants him to return that chooda back to her.

And like in the Shiv-Parvati story this is where Parvati brings him into the wordly affairs...getting him domesticated.

Also Rudra ko pyaar mein poora utarna padega! To a point of doing anything for her. Actually come to think of it he would lay his life down for her, but its the silly stuff that does not sit well with many viwers. But why not...if he is ready to lay his life fo rher then why not an apology? And that is exactly what is happening now...small, mundane little things that Paro wants from her husband...

hugs
dd

Mind you DD, I did enjoy that episode. it was too sweet not to enjoy but what I meant by it feeling as if they were married for a while is that the ease of interaction they showed.. i mean how easily Paro expected him to say sorry to her when just the day before she didn't think he would even take her with him?

The makers are setting a good pace for the serial which is what you require to not get bored... but that is in the sense of the story line or a topic being cleared in the show. They should not stick that pace to a relationship development. To some extent Rudra's reaction did stick...his not knowing how to apologize is understandable ...only that his wanting to apologize without a good enough fight or his thadap in front of Paro for her to speak did not stick.

saying that this is a all in the show... it was still entertaining. and most of the time I am firmly sitting in the viewers' chair. I don't like to share any part of CVs work but have a tendency to be a bit on judgmental side... 😆
You are welcome to call me Ganga..

You know what? There was a time when we would just go by whatever was shown to us irrespective of whether we liked it or not, and the makers would do what they wanted to because we didn't have forums and internet chats about shows!!! Today because of these facilities, its so nice to be able to discuss what works and what doesn't for your favorite shows. But somewhere along the way , I feel, we unknowingly are over analyzing a lot of stuff and not putting our faith in the creators of a show. They also think of the pros and cons of their story line ( knowing fully well the world is breathing down their necks for the smallest of mistakes) So lets just sit back and enjoy the show, yes discuss and comment, but no need to go into whats gonna happen next as that takes away from any serial if you already think you know whats gonna happen!! Well this is just my personal thought, though many may not agree, I feel lets go with the flow and enjoy this wonderful serial given to us by Mr Saurabh Tiwari and his amazing team!!! :) :)

Just a question on RK. In that serial... did the audience know that RK was pretending to be nice, or did the audience also discover at a later time that he was pretending to be nice?

Navin first of all I read the whole set of posts here. Wasn't logged in so I haven't liked any of them. sorry about that.. but in a way it gave a chance for me to have a lot of introspection as I only got to observe and NOT react as i read each response, each different from the other and adding a unique flavor to it.. So this is my views after having read every bit on this topic.

I will make 4 observations.

1. From all of it I would say I am reading the situation as this as quoted in the below 3 posts. AS OF RIGHT NOW this is exactly as i see this.

Well said about Paro's character. Its way too strong than we can imagine her to be. The fact that she told him "Aur dil bhi" that day which is totally against her regular upbringing, says so much about Paro.

So true this is a Jodi written by the Gods themselves!

2. From the future scenarios I think ur initial reading of him being like RK (i don't know as i never rad but read ur synopsis so i get the gist of him) is wrong. And AreYaar's reasoning is why i believe why he will not be deliberately cruel cz he is not a sociopath.

3. And then your 2nd reading of him facing a situation where his love for her (which he would not have consciously acknowledged as love) would be pitted against his loyalty to his country PLUS getting to his mom.
I would imagine that is exactly what will happen. He is not going to be sensible in his responses. because one consistent thing about Rudra has been is, he is REACTIVE and destructive because he reacts to triggers as stand alone moments. He does NOT think of the holistic view or factor in anything except the latest trigger given to him. And he become a man who is of those characteristics for that moment alone. He would react utterly differently to the next trigger that comes.

This is why i think just like he will not have the natural ability to realize that making Paro collateral damage against his game with Tejawat and Mala would destroy her. That would not even cross his mind! And when it happens and when he sees the wreck he has created of her ONLY then will he hit his head on a wall!
He will not destroy Paro cz he is cruel at all! But due to his one track trigger driven nature! He has myopic vision that was destructive to himself only till now. But now that Paro has wriggled under that close circle his myopic vision driven results would impact her too.

And this is why this past week is believable for me.
This trigger driven man is reacting to some triggers
A) Paro's circle explanation and her trust admiration of him that LITERALLY dazes him as he listens to it - WE SAW IT IN HIS 'HAAN' TO THE MARRIAGE QUESTION BY THE SWs.
B) Paro's stance to take physical pain to protect his interests PLUS Mohini's actions to physically hurt Paro.
C) Him locking her in the dark and her reaction to it and that getting her close to him and under his defenses
D) Her physical allure that sexually got through to him
E) Her drunken confession - EACH WORD OF WHICH HE REMEMBERS WITH STARTLING CLARITY
F) Her pleading on his behalf due to his prank on her and crying at it and then not talking to him

Right now this trigger driven man is reacting to these A-F triggers; all of which happened within 24hrs.

And another factor i have observed about his trigger driven reactions is that if the trigger consolidates his previous beliefs/old situations it only intensifies his reaction to the said trigger.
BUT just cz an immediate trigger is going against all his previous beliefs does not stop him from reacting only to that trigger disregarding everything he generally believes. BUT this reaction is temporary and much less stronger than a trigger driven reaction that consolidates his general beliefs.

4. All the red parts I have highlighted from the quoted 3 posts - Navin if u see this forum opinions majority themselves think that Paro is a simpleton and is a piece of random badly written character, a simpleton etc etc. But as both Diana didi and Oldest fan (sorry don't know ur name di) have explained this aspect of Paro being so so much strong in a manner that is not at all apparent or in ur face and this is one major reason I see them reading the situation as from Rudra's side and debating if its believable. They don't think Paro's passive yet obstinate, or simply said her ziddi as strength that actually acts as triggers for the man who is utterly trigger driven!
They think Paro is only to be foil to Rudra - while if we look at it, that is only one half of the coin. Rudra actually is utterly triggered by Paro and the situations which she acts as the trigger to get started!

And after writing my typical essay i will give one more simple explanation too..

TRPs - we r thinking too much, period! 😆 But on hell i missed the forum dearly this weekend. Real life took over.. so it was wonderful to spend 1hr at office (ya i would be sacked if any1 knew) to read this entire topic and put together my personal opinion of it!!

Amazing post Navin and I loved the way you carried on this discussion forward and the amazing points each person presented.
