From small screen to big screen.. Chetany

Chetanya Adib aka Kunjan Pratap Singh of popular soap Saat Phere on Zee TV is wearing the cloak of an actor for the past 11 years. The first serial he did was Yuddh which

was just the beginning and later there were series of serials done by him. Although Chetanya had neither done any acting course nor had he taken any god father in this industry, still he managed to stay on his own mettle. He had acting flowing in his veins because his maternal grand father Prem Ji Adib was one of the known leading artiste of fifties.

Not only acting, he's also a known name in the field of dubbing and voice over. His voice can be heard in many shows on Discovery and other popular channels. He has also lent his voice to Hollywood actors for the dubbed versions of their films. He has given his voice to Spiderman's best friend 'Harry' in the latest version of Spiderman-3. In conversation:

In the serial Saat Phere, your character keeps going through various mood and personality changes.

Why so many colours?
When my character of Kunjan Singh had begun he was a very bad and mean man but this was due to the influence of his mother. Mother was negative. Then came his wife and she changed my thinking and made me into a positive person. Currently his life is ruled by Chamaki. He is extremely confused as to who is right or wrong. Still I don't think that anybody has really seen Kundan's true colours. His real personality has yet to come forward.

So what will be his real personality?
Wait and watch. It is the prerogative of the director and story writer only.

You have given your voice to Spiderman's best friend Harry in the current
release?
Yes, every time Harry will open his mouth, my voice will come out. Imagine a white skin speaking perfect Hindi with perfect diction! I enjoy this work but my first passion is acting.

What else have you done on small screen besides serials?
I have done countdown shows on Zee TV and ATN. Besides this I also have the gift of voice from God and I have used it to my advantage. I am official voice over artiste with Discovery and other channels. Then I have given my voice fro Hindi dubbed version to Hollywood artiste like Kenu Reeves, Wesley Snipes, Sean Connery, Cristopher Reevs, Val Kilmer, and Sylvester Stallion for films like Batman, Superman, Spiderman etc. in eth current version of Spiderman 3 my voice is used for Harry.

What kind of role would you like do in Hindi films?
My favourite would be negative roles. Something like the character of Ajay Devgan in Khakhee, it was the perfect villain. Real life person with real life looks but very challenging to deliver. I prefer to go grey or complete black in character description.

What else do you do besides acting?
I love to watch films and drive. I have liking towards singing also and may be one day I will cut an album. I also enjoy theatre and reading but I don't indulge in serious reading. Reading is more for recharging my batteries.
