"Go ahead...open it..." Khushi prompted.
Arnav removed his arms from around her and gently tugged on the ribbon and wrapping on the large box. Khushi bit down on her lower lip and waited for his reaction.
He didn't disappoint her, of course. A gasp of pleasant surprise escaped him as he pulled out the big photoframe that housed a picture of them. No, not just Arnav and Khushi. Amber and Aditya were in the picture too. his fingertips glided over the smooth glass in a loving caress. He felt the corners of his mouth lift up in a smile as the significant of this gift registered in his mind.
"Our first family picture..." Arnav whispered.
Khushi smiled to herself even as tears, albeit of happiness, stung her eyes. She kissed his shoulder and leaned her head on it.
"And there's many more to come, Arnav." she took his free hand in hers.
She didn't say a word after that. She let him take his time to absorb this moment. She knew how much this meant to him. Of course she knew. because it meant a lot to her too. The incomplete picture of her family was finally complete. Almost.
"Where's my wedding gift?" Khushi nudged him teasingly.
arnav looked at her with a guilty expression. "I...I didnt think about this part...I'm so sorry..."
"Hmmm" Khushi feigned a thoughtful expression. "we can solve that."
"we can?"
"Of course!" Khushi crossed her legs on the couch and turned to face him. "if I ask you for something, will you give it to me...as a wedding present?"
"Anything you want." Arnav said with a second thought.
Khushi took the frame out of his hands and gently laid it on the coffee table. Clasping both his hands in hers, she looked up at him, gazing deep into the depth of his warm eyes.
"I know what I want from you as a gift."
"tell me..." Arnav pressed. He hadn't been lying when he'd said that he'd get her anything she wanted if he could.
"Arnav, take me home."
Author's Note about Next Update:
Hey guys!
I wont be able to update today as I had hoped. I had some unexpected errands to run and other obligations/incidents that needed my attention/presence for the entire evening/early night. I just got home a few minutes ago and I'm exhausted.
I will try to complete writing the chapter and post it up as soon as possible. I'm so sorry about the recent delays in updates.
I'm trying to find my rhythm with this new jobs and stuff...as soon as I have that under control, the updates will come relatively frequently.
