"Since childhood my inspiration has been my dad"- Kunwar Amarjeet Singh

"Itni shiddat se Maine tumhe paane ki Koshish ki, ki har zarre ne muje tumse milane ki saazish ki" well this is a famous dialogue from the Shahrukh Khan starrer Bollywood movie. Wondering why we have used this dialogue from this movie. Well the answer is here, TheTellyTimes spoke to the wonder boy famously called Rockstar by his fans Kunwar Amarjeet Singh, who is currently essaying the character of Rey in the youth based show on channel V Dil Dosti Dance. Amar's journey to this industry has never been easy, coming from a small place and then making it big with just his passion and hard work is something that he needs to be applauded for. Recently Amar was in news for getting the Pride of Punjab award at a special event by Mumbai Police which was really an achievement for the young star. We asked Amar how he felt after getting this award, about his show D3 and much more. Read on to know what the hard working actor has to say.

Pride of Punjab award, Amar tell us how you felt after knowing that you will be awarded with this award and what was the feeling while holding that trophy in your hand?

It was an amazing feeling because first of all it was unexpected. I was shooting and I suddenly got a call from SP Ahuja who was like we want to honour you with Pride of Punjab if you have time please make it to the event. I was like really I would love to but I don't get the connection like why am I getting an award like this. He mentioned that this award is to felicitate those people who are doing good in their respective fields and have worked really hard to make a name for themselves. So I said yes to it but I was still thinking what is my association with Punjab society and the Pride of Punjab. It was really a happy and a shocking moment for me because its a different feeling when we are awarded at TV function for best actor or something of that sorts but this was like a very different thing, different culture, different society so it was really special. When I went there I saw so many big people like the IG of Bombay police , Bulls India president and so many jinke baare mei sirf padha hi tha. They were sitting next to me, sharing the same award and I was like Oh my god! Do I really deserve this? When I was called on stage I was so proud that whatever hard work I am doing in my life, since the time I was a dancer, then DID and now when I am an actor people are liking my work and they are appreciating. It was a proud feeling also because my sister was there, first time someone from my family member came to Bombay. She really cried that day, she was very emotional. She has also helped me a lot with my future and has helped me do what I am today. So it was an emotional yet very great feeling for me.

When you got to know that you are getting an award like this, who was the first person you called or told about it?

The first person was my sister, the day she came to Bombay the same date I got a call for this award. So when I went home I said wow the day you have come, the same date I am being called for an award. She was supposed to go back on the 10th and same date was also the award ceremony. But my sister told me that she couldn't get tickets and thus she would be leaving on 12th now. I was like wow and was very very happy.

How is your back now? Amar we know you couldn't be a part of Box Cricket League because of an injury and now talks are on for the next season, will we see you and Charlie there?

Definitely we would love to be there, I would have played this time also but I didn't want to risk a lot. I was already struggling with a back injury for long. I used to avoid it but suddenly this time it is hurting me a lot and I am unable to bend or even dance. I told myself that I need to hold myself back at some place otherwise I would be injured badly for a longer time. So I had to stop myself from playing although I love to play cricket. So hopefully next season you would see me and Charlie be a part of it.

Tell us something about your childhood, your growing up, your family?

I had a very normal childhood. I was an under confident boy. I never really used to talk to people especially girls.I was really not that confident, I was kind of those kids who would sit and think why others are not talking to me and stuff like that. I was not really outgoing. There was this dancer who used to perform and everyone used to watch him , he was like a centre of attraction. Then one day I started dancing with him and everyone started praising me more than him and I was like shocked. Hrithik Roshan has been my inspiration. I remember the bike stunt he did for his first movie, I used to practice that. After that I started dancing and used to lie at home just to go for dance because my family had to listen to my relatives. They used to insult and used to say what will he become? That time dance was really not an established career for my relatives but still my dad supported me and stood by me. Dad was worried but I always told my dad that one day he will be proud of me and that I will become something. I went to Indore where I met many big people, one band even asked me if I will join them. I used to dance and somehow came to know about DID and auditioned for it and that's how my journey started. And today all those relatives who used to insult my family because of me now tell my dad its great where Amar is today and they are proud of me.

You have inspired many of your fans Amar, but can we know who is your inspiration?

I never really read books and all, and since childhood my inspiration has been my dad. Being in police and not financially that much strong yet he used to do a lot for his family not just us but for his siblings too. He is so much giving and I guess that's what I have learnt from him just to be giving no matter what. He had to listen to lot of my relatives because of me but still he believed in me and supported me.

D3 completed 3 years recently, did you expect when you started with this show that its going to be so big or its going to be for so long because your show is the longest running on channel V?

Honestly I never really thought that this show is going to be so huge. Initially this show was supposed to be for 7 months and also when we started we were really bad since we never really knew acting. But today D3 has completed 3 years and it is really doing well I terms of TRP's and is one of the best youth show and so it feels really great. It has given us so much. Thanks to everyone for making it big and all those who worked hard for this show.

What do you have to say about your fans efforts who love you immensely and they have taken love for you to a very different level, trending about you most of the time, recently one of your fan Winnie (JAA group) had also gone a step ahead and from Bahrain Winnie managed your House of Charity visit. So what do you have to say for all your fan's efforts?

That was really really special, and it was very close to my heart. The love and support my fans give me is out of this world. Whenever I am down in my life they are there to support me and motivate me. They just not love me but they also spreads love and happiness around and that's the best thing about them. I promise to be in touch with my fans forever even after D3, they have loved and supported me immensely. I remember during Nach Baliye days, we got such an amazing response from fans that even Star Plus was shocked. They really thought that its just for 2 3 weeks that fans will vote but it didn't happen that ways fans kept giving me and Charlie so much love and we topped quite a few times. So I will always try my best to do my bit for the society, for underprivileged and for needy who honestly need our love and support. My fans have been there for me always and its time for me to do my bit and I will keep doing that. So thank you so much for that.

We know you got really emotional and you missed your dad as well while receiving that award, so do you want to talk about your dad? How is your bonding with him or anything you want to say?

My dad has been my support system. He stood up for me when all the relatives were questioning him. Its all because of his love and support I am here. He has done so much for us. Its been long that I haven't met him I always ask him to come to Mumbai but he doesn't come and I know why he don't. But I really hope that one day I take him to an award function where I am nominated and I win something in front of him. I always tell him that I am so thankful and proud of him but I want to tell the whole world that I am proud of my dad and its because of him that I am here. He has supported me a lot and I love him a lot. I will ensure that one day I make it to the Bollywood and make my dad more happy and proud.

Anything you want to say to your fans something that can really motivate them to realise their dream or any message you want to convey?

To my fans I would say just stand for what is right. Just be good to everyone even if someone has ever hurt you or done anything wrong to you just forgive that person. Trust me forgiveness is the biggest achievement, it is the biggest power. You know you can punch anyone but if you forgive someone ever after they did something wrong to you they will feel guilty and that person will always remember you and might also be thankful to you. So every time try to be forgiving, spread love and also help people who really need you help be it physically challenged, needy or anyone who needs your help. You can help them in any manner either by teaching them, playing with them or just by being with them. So just try and do one good thing in life. Just help others without any expectations it would really give you happiness that you will never forget.

TheTellyTimes congratulate Amar on his recent achievement and also wishes that he achieve the dream of being in Bollywood soon. We are sure with so many fans love, prayers and hard work he will make it big even in Bollywood. We applaud the efforts of Amar for always inspiring and motivating people who always dream about a better future. Way to go Amar !
