Geet was changing the cloth strip after every few seconds..after some time Man's temperature started to decrease..and now he was sleeping peacefully..Geet decided to wait for few more minutes so that temperature was fully under control and she rested her head on the small foot board of the bed

In morning Ram and priya came to see Maan and they knocked at the door but did not get any answer..Ram knocked one more time and the door opened with the push of his hand. It wasn't locked. They peeped in and found Maan and Geet sleeping. The way they both were sleeping brought a smile on the lips of Ram and priya and they decided not to disturb them..Maan's face was seemed soft so they could guess that he was fine . They both came out after closing the door behind them.. But the sound of closing the door was heard by Maan. He opened his eyes..then he remembered that he slept when Geet was giving him head massage. He smiled remembering his last day. He tried to get up but felt some hot air near his ear..he looked in that side and saw Geet sleeping with her head on the same pillow on which he was sleeping. She was sitting in the chair and her head was on the pillow. Then he felt something on his forehead. He touched there and found a cotton clothe there. He took it in his hand and understood everything. May be he had fever last night..He turned very quietly to the side of Geet and looked at her face..now both were facing each other and they were very close..Geet was sleeping in a sound sleep. It seemed that she was awakened till late to change the cloth to reduce the fever. Maan stared at her for few seconds..he then very softly put her hand on her hair near her ear and then caressed her cheek with a feather touch of his thumb.

He whispered very slowly-Good morning Geet and thanks for making my yesterday very special.And Geet stirred in her sleep. Maan instantly pulled his hand back but Geet again slept after scratching her cheek as she felt something there in sleep. Maan lips curved to see her reacting in that way and he thought not to disturb her more and he got up and entered in to the bathroom but Geet who was already was out of her sound sleep with that touch, woke up with the sound of the bathroom door.she opened her eyes and found herself sleeping in that position.

She thought-How did I sleep? I was here to take care of Maan. Maan is not here.May be he is in bathroom. Pata nahin kaisi tabiyat hai ab unki? She waited for Maan to come out of the washroom

Sometime later Geet saw Maan coming out of the bathroom and she stormed towards him-Maan How are you now..I m sorry wo pata nahin kaise so gayi main . You had fever at night..do you still have fever? How is your headache? Are you fine? Aap ko bhookh lagi hogi..you did not have your dinner at night.

Maan put his finger on her lips-Shhh..Geet..relax..I m fine ..No headache and no fever.Theek hoon main?

And Geet nodded her head.and signaled him at his finger.Maan instantly removed his finger from her lips-Sorry.After a pause he said-Thanks Geet for whatever you did for me. kal meri wajah se pareshaani hui tumhen?

Geet-pareshaani?? Why are you saying so Maan.we live in one room ..so it's we only who can take care of each other..if I were at your place would you have not done this for me?

Maan smiled and nodded-Hmm off course..and I m taking my thanks back.

Geet smiled-No need of being formal . Aap araam karo main chai lekar aati hoon aap ke liye

Maan-chai nahin Geet coffee.

Geet-nahin maan ..Today you are going to have whatever I will give you,You are not well so you will start your day with Geet special tea ..

Maan-ok..

And Geet left to take the tea for Maan and Maan looked at her retreating figure. A smile was playing on his lips.

It was Sunday. All were at home..Geet took good care of Maan and he was doing whatever Geet was asking him to do with out any complain- be it food to be eaten or to take rest . In reality he was enjoying that without showing it to anyone . Ram and priya were amazed to see that they both cared too much for each other but were not ready to accept their marriage.

Maan got sufficient time to rest so was completely fit .Next day he joined the office. He was informed in the office that the outcome of the meetings was to be declared in two or three days,which Maan attended on Saturday.

Ram had gone to attend some meeting and he was going back to home directly from there so Maan and Geet were returning from KC.

Maan was driving the car.he looked at the side of the road and he pushed the breaks.

Geet -Maan why did you stop car here?.kuchh kaam hai kya.

Maan -haan.actually Geet ..I want to eat that and he signaled at the roadside. Geet looked there and she was shocked to see.a pani puri stall there.

Geet-You want to eat golgappe? but you don't eat spicy food.aur ye golgappe to bahut spicy hote hain.

Maan-Geet yesterday you made me eat tasteless food on the pretence of my fever. and today I want to eat something spicy.

Geet mouth opened to hear the word tasteless..

Geet-What ?That was tasteless food? Ok ..to jaayiye aur kha kar aaiye

Maan-Hmm...to chalo

Geet-n,,N,,nahin mujhe nahin khaane

Maan-Nahin khaane? Have you ever seen anywhere that girl is sitting in the car and boy is eating panipuri at the road.kuchh ulta pulta nahin dikhega..

Geet-Maan ..you know well that I don't eat them now.

Maan-I know ..that's why I want you to come and eat them

Geet's eyes were wet-Maan please ..

Flashbacks

Two days before Geet;s exams . It was Sunday and all were at home. Ram Yash and Maan were discussing the project which Yash started in shimla.They were constructing a big Hotel there and yash was handling that project. Suddenly they all saw Geet coming swiftly.

She called Arpita and Anie-you know bahar golgappe wala khada hai.Let's eat some..I love golgappe. Chalo jaldi warna wo chala jaayega.Maa hum jaayen kya?

Before Priya could say anything, Yash said-No way Geet.you are not going to eat them.

Geet-But why..jyada costly nahin hain.bas 50 rs hi lagenge.

Ram and Maan smiled to hear that and Yash said-I know but you will not eat them.Geet these things are too unhygienic. .kuchh ho gaya to?

Geet- unhygienic??.Yash I m standing in front of you. A five feet four inch tall girl.I use to eat golgappe 20 days a month..aap ko main bimaar dikhti hoon kya. Nothing happened till now then what can happen this time.Please Yash jaane dijiye na.

Yash-No way Geet..you are having your exams in two days.So take care of yourself.what if something happens

Geet-papa please..aap kahiye na Yash ko

Ram-Well.. I don't mind if you want to eat, but it's between you and your husband.

And Geet was so disappointed at this. She was so excited to eat the golgappe but yash poured chilled water on her all hopes. Family was amused to see her expressions.

Her mouth literally was watering with the thought of golgappe.she was behaving like a small kid who wanted to have an ice cream and her mother scolded her. She pouted and went in to the kitchen where Arpita was supervising Suresh in cooking dinner.

Maan to yash-Kya yash ..kyun mana kiya..Let her eat..nothing will happen

Yash-Maan you always take her side even if she is wrong. Can't you see that her exams are going to start in two days.what if some infection catches her.I don't want anyone to blame me for any carelessness in her studies. It;'s her last semester. After that she can do what she wants.Maan sighed and Ram smiled.In his eyes Yash was right

At dinner table Geet's mind was still wandering in Golgappe.she was feeling the taste in her mouth.Her concentration was in golgappe rather than in food..

Arpita- Geet why are you not eating? Achchha nhain hai kya?

Geet without hearing her properly-Nahin ..achchha hai.. but golagappe jaisa taste nahin hai.

And all burst in to a laughter hearing her.Yash shook her head-Geet grow up

Geet-Mujhe Golgappe khane the ..and she pouted

Yash-Shut Up Geet

Geet-Haww..itni badi demand bhi nahin thi meri jo aap shut up kah rahe ho.Kya fayada ghar me itne paise hone ka..bahu golgappe bhi nahin kha sakti.Kisi ko pata chalega to kya sochega ?

All muffled their laughter to see her doing that drama.

Yash-Al right Geet. Let your exam be over. I will take you to there myself. Then you can eat as much as you want. Happy?

Geet-Pakka? Agar aap nahin le gaye na to dekhna what I will do

Yash-Really ? what you will do?

Geet-I will never eat them till you don't take me there.Ab main tabhi khaungi jab aap khilaaoge uske pahle nahin,aur jab jab aap golgappe dekhenge na to aap mujhe yaad karenge that you owe me something big and you will feel guilty for that.

Yash-OMG..It seems that I m being cursed for not letting you eat those stupid golgappe. I promise.I won't forget that I owe you these golgappe. Now have your dinner and one more thing don't compare this dinner with your golgappe.

Geet-Ok ..But remember your promise otherwise..

Yash-Haan baba ..ab jab tak tumhen golgappe nahin khila deta meri aatma par ek bojh rahga aur ye bojh tabhi utrega jab tumhen golgappe khila doonga.But not before your exams are over.Remember this.

Geet -Ok and she hy- fived with Anie.

Yash looked at both of them and shook his head.

Flashbacks end

Maan-Geet..uss baat ko bhool nahin sakti.and he took her hand in his-Geet.you know it very well that God did not give time to Yash for anything .kya pata wo ab bhi apne aap ko guilty feel karta ho apne promises pure na karne ke liye. I think it's our duty to make his soul free of all guilt. Don't you too think so?

Geet-You mean to say Yash may be still in guilt for not fulfilling his promise. Nanin nahin I don't want him to suffer because of me..I want him to be in peace.

Maan-Then come .I think he will feel good to see you enjoying golgappe

Geet-If it is so , I will eat them.

Maan-Hmm and both reached at the stall.

Maan asked the vendor to give two saucers.

Stall vendor served them golgappe. One for Geet and one for Maan.First Geet put it in her mouth .

She liked it's taste

and then maan put golgappa in his mouth and his mouth burnt

and he started to cough due to the that heat.

Geet looked at him and then helped him by making him eat a dry golgappa with sweet chutney.and then made him drink some water

Maan felt relieved after eating it.

Maan-God Geet how do you eat such spicy dishes..I m feeling like fire in my mouth.

Geet giggled at this.-.Golgappe kahna koi asaan kaam nahin hai. You need a very brave heart for that and boys don't have that heart.and By the way It was your idea to have then not mine

Maan-Achchha? I m not that week ..I can eat more

Geet-Nahin Maan.rahne dijiye..I know you wanted me to break my resolution and that you have done. ab chaliye warna you will feel acidity. I m used to eat this spicy food.

Geet was right .Maan only wanted to make her eat golgappe. So he put her weapons down.

Maan paid the money to the stall vendor and were about to leave. Maan saw a little part of chutney on the corner of her lips. He signaled her to remove that .

geet tried but could not. He took out his hanky from his pocket and he himself removed that.

Geet gave him a sweet smile in return and then they left.

Geet and Maan returned from KC. Ram too was back till then. Ram and Maan discussed on the issues of the meeting for some time. After having dinner Maan found Geet little bit disturbed. Her face was looking dull. He asked her-Geet ..you are looking disturbed? What happened?

Geet gulped her saliva-No .everything is fine..kuchh nahin hua hai..she gave a forced smile to him. She went near the closet and opened it..searched for something in the closet..and then closed it. Then she set on the couch .She was biting her nails.

Maan was observing her.it seemed if she was looking for something important.

Maan-Geet.but she did not respond and he again called-Geet..

Geet-Hmm..

Maan-Kya hua hai Geet?Can I help you?

Geet-Nooo you can't help me.

Maan-what..aisa kya hai jo main help nahin kar sakta

and then Geet's face lit up with a hope-Maan I m coming in few minutes ..I have to talk to Anie.

Maan-Lekin hua kya hai? But Geet was not there to listen.

Geet went to Anie-Anie..I need your help.

Anie-ji bhabhi boliiye

Geet-Anie-woo wo.I need few sani**** napkins.. actually I got my pe***** and I forgot to buy them. Please help me..I had only one and I used it for now. Tomorrow I will bring till then I need your help

Anie-Off course bhabhi ek minute rukiye and she opened her closet and then she remembered what Rahul taught her.A naughty smile spread on her lips and she said to Geet-Oh No.

Geet-what happened Anie?

Anie-Bhabhi I m so sorry..I too forgot to buy. Actually I too was having my pe***** last week so I used all of them and I did not need them instantly so thought to buy later.I m so sorry bhabhi . abhi ek bhi nahin hai.

Geet's face hung down-Ek bhi nahin hai and Anie shrugged her shoulders showing her helplessness. Geet was very nervous-What will I do now..I will need it urgently at morning..abhi to raat bhi ho gayi hai..

Anie-Bhabhi ek idea hai..you can ask bhaiya..He will help you.

Geet-What..How can I say this to Maan?

Anie-Why not? He is your husband..wo nahin krenge to kaun karega?

Anie was looking at her face.Geet too looked at her.

Anie-bhabhi what are you thinking now..jaaiye warna medical stores bhi band ho jaayenge

Geet returned absolutely hopless. She reached to her room. Maan saw her and asked-Ho gayi Anie se baat?

Geet-Hmm and she again sat on the couch..she was thinking of what to do

She tried to say something to Maan but in hesitation she stopped-No how can I ask him.but Geet you have no other option. She looked up like she was asking someone to help her.Maan sensed that something was serious.

Maan-Geet kya hua hai..I can see you that you are in some trouble but you are not saying it..and I think anie too could not help you.bataao please kya baat hai.

Seeing no other option Geet collected all her courage -Maan wo mujhe medical store jana hai abhi.

Maan got tensed-Kya hua..tabiyat to theek hai na..

Geet-wo.haan sab theek hai ..I have to go to medical shop..I have to bring some medicines

And Maan thought thought-I think Gogappe did not suit her. May be she is feeling acidity.

He asked -Geet do you feel acidity? I mean you ate golgappe na.Are you you feeling some acidity or some pain in your stomach

Geet-N n no I m not feeling acidity. I m fine.

Maan-why do you need medicines when you are fine?..He was confused now.

Get was feeling embarrassed now, with very difficulty she said while lowering her head-wo..I need s..s. sa****** n******..It's very urgent and I forgot to buy.

Now Maan too was feeling little embarrassed for forcing her to tell.But now he had forced her so it was his duty to help her.

Maan after clearing his throat-any specific brand?

Geet looked at him and gulped again her saliva-w..wi****u****

Maan-wait for me I m coming..and he left from there.

Geet looked at him going She thought that he is escaping -Geet tu bhi na ..How could you be so careless..how embarrassing it was for me to share this with him..Now see..he too was embarrassed and left from here..ab kya karoon main..Anie ka pack bhi abhi finish hona tha..ab Main itni raat ko kisse help maangoo.she was sitting thinking about some solution.

Then an idea hit her mind. She got up to prepare a homemade pad. Before she could do something Maan came and handed over a packet to her.She looked at him with a question.

Maan- I thought to buy it for you as you are not feeling comfortable. Your face shows that you are in some pain.

Geet could not see in his eyes and with a lower head she thanked him .she kept that packet in her closet as she would need it in the morning. Both were founding this situation very awkward so without talking a word to each other they settled at their respective places to sleep.

It was a day which forced them to open them on a very personal issue. It was the most personal issue for Geet but she had to share it with Maan which she never thought to share with him in her dream too .

Few days later

It was the day of the death anniversary of Yash and Arpita.

Handas too were there. Whole house was silent..though so many things changed in KM in this one year.some relation changed some were thrown out of the house which were making the life of KM hell. but no one could remain untouched by the sadness which reminded them about what else they lost last year.They lost three lives on this day among them one was who even could not see this world.

Puja was being held for the peace of those souls.

All were sitting there to offer their homage to the souls whom they loved.pandit ji started the puja and after settling everything he asked for the spouses of the deceased to come forward and do the ritual.

Priya-Pandit ji..Now they both are married so how they can do this ritual?

Maan-nahin maa..we will do..Mine relation with Geet is changed but For Yash and Arpita..we will do whatever they deserve from us. For them our relation is not changed..Yash Geet ka pati aur arpita meri patni thi ye sach kabhi badal nahin sakta.we will do every ritual for them as their spouse. It is our last duty for them, which both of us will fulfill.

All were feeling some wetness in their eyes. But Maan was right too Arpita and Yash deserved every right from their respective spouses.

So geet and Maan sat at the respective places to offer their last homage to yash and Arpita as their spouse.

Pandit ji started to chant the mantras and asked to pay their rituals..Arpita's thought came in Maan's mind at that moment.

Maan-(ST) Arpita..Though we did not feel love for each other, atleast that is the truth in my case but I cannot neglect your goodness. You were a very nice human being.you never gave a chance to complain. And I ask for your forgiveness if I ever hurt you. You were carrying my baby. May be that baby could have helped us to feel love for each other but that could not happen. I wish every happiness for you that you deserve . I got my love now and I wish the same for you too...Where ever you are I will pray God to give you all the happiness in your life.May be we were not meant for each other.

He felt some where emotional in his heart.

Geet too was paying her homage to her late husband. She was remembering him. So many things changed in her life. If Yash was alive today they all would be living a big happy family. But that was not acceptable to the destiny. Yash was an integral part of her personality but she had lost her right on him in some meanings..She had a new relation in her life but she was not going to forget Yash. He taught her how to live for others..how to adjust with the changes in life. how could she forget him..He did a lot for her. Always made understand whenever taijis words hurt . She was lost in Yash's memories and then she heard a voice-GEET.and Geet looked up.She could see yash standing on the other side of the smoke which was erupting from the hawan kund. Geet was happy to see him in front of herself.
