Before I go to today's episode, I wanted to note that the forum continues to be split on who is to blame for the current circumstance, Jodha or Jalal.
However, I think the leads themselves have answered the question:
- Jalal has admitted his mistake repeatedly of putting a false blame on her and not trusting her- she has told this to everyone including Hamida Bano and Salima
- Jodha had admitted her mistake two episodes ago where she made the first mistake in hiding the truth; she repeatedly told Moti she feels like she is doing a paap by hiding the truth from Jalal.
They both, at some point, have admitted their mistake and suffering for it in their own way. No matter what the CVs show or portray they cannot erase this. The focus of the CVs have been on Jalal focus on repenting on why he didn't trust Jodha.
I would like the CVs to show Jodha reflecting on why she could not win his trust as well by hiding the truth from him and lying to him- both before the vachan and after. Not because Jodha is wrong or I dislike her, because it would show her as a deeper, reflective individual who has the badapan to admit her mistakes. No one fell lower by apologizing, they only rise higher.
Jodha herself once said that rishtey cannot be weighed on the tarazu- similarly Jodha and Jalal cannot be put on a tarazu, on who is the higher of the two. They both have their strengths and weaknesses and they cannot be expected to be perfect. Whoever is more to blame, it is both of them that are hurt.
And that takes me to my take 5 today:
Today, we saw the first side effects of the separation on Jalal and Jodha. They are both terribly hurt and missing each other ...
(1) Jalal and the portrait: I think Jalal asked very valid questions of the portrait ...
- Why didn't she clear the MU? Why was she silent?
- Why didn't she yell at him?
- Why didn't she fight for herself like she fought for others?
Given Jodha's character and trackrecord in the serial, these are valid questions for Jalal to ask. She has been brutally honest to him before, why not now?
(2) But far away, Jodha gave the answer to his questions as she thought of him. While she loved him ... She was deeply hurt by his allegations and words. This was the hurt that kept Jodha silent.
And this is where I would like to criticize the CVs for another inconsistency: why then did Jodha decide to break her vachan and go tell Jalal the truth? It was MA who stopped her and not Jalal. It is unclear when Jodha decided that she preferred to leave silently then defend the truth and bring "shaanti" to the Shehenshah.
But, going back to today's episode, I really liked how Jodha clearly admitted her prem for Jalal today- and I truly hope the CVs do not deny this later on!
As she thinks more of the incident, her feelings for Jalal are becoming clearer. Instantly after Jalal's outburst, she vehemently denied his love for him to her antar aatma, which is a natural reaction. Now, that she has reflected on it, the hurt remains but she clearly still loves him.
(3) The source of hurt for both of them is love ... We had a similar situation between Jodha and Jalal during the fake pregnancy track where Jalal raised fingers on her loyalty to him ...
However, neither was not as hurt at that time ... Only angry at each other. What has changed? The love each have for each other.
- Earlier, Jalal was only angry thinking she cheated on him, not hurt and devastated like he was last Friday
- During the fake pregnancy track, Jodha angrily defended herself and now she is hurt and silent
It is the love for each other, that has raised the expectations that had from each other, and hence, a higher degree of hurt.
Coming to the ending soul talk: I have lost belief in the soul talks ever since they proclaimed that was their last night alone before the Ben track ended... Because clearly the two are alone. But here are my two favorite picks from the soul talk:
(4) Jalal's possessiveness for Jodha: How he could not see her with anyone else ... Even in his dreams.
And while, given the polygamous nature of society then, Jodha cannot expect the same, it did remind me of the time when Jodha answered that she would feel her "prem" would be insulted if he was spending time with others.
(5) Jodha admits how much Jalal and their relationship meant to her when she said she had nothing to fear ... As she lost him and his trust, she had lost everything.
My take 5 was a bit sentimental and serious today so let me leave you with a few comic honorable mentions:
- In a way, I am glad that Hamida Bano took the painting away; it was wierding me out that it was a painting Shariffudin had described
- Ruqs showed signs of guilt today ... She kept looking down like a kid who is about to be caught stealing chocolate.
- Even Salima Begum said that Jodha-Jalal love each other; who else is left hefore these two admit it?
- I am glad to see Jalal galloping on his horse with determination ... Why is he wearing the birthday overcoat? Seriously, it brings bad luck for you and Jodha!
- The Ameri family is back and so is Mainaviti! I got scared that she had quit the show when she was missing from the Shivani track. Any chance Shaguni Bai will drop in to make a prediction?
So, what are your thoughts folks?
