I hear many people on the forum questioning how Mir Khan could be related to the Haiders when his last name is different!
However this isn't much of an issue for me as i have grown up in an environment where two brothers, belonging to the same family but having different last names is quite common.
So let me elaborate on the name funda. Hopefully this will clarify things a little bit
Mir is referred to as Mir KHAN in the show right, now its is essential that you guys know that KHAN is a caste (zaat) and not a proper last name.
Gulham is known as Gulham Haider, merely because Haider is Gulham's father's name. This however does not change the fact that Gulham is a KHAN...his full name shud be Gulham Haider Khan. Yes everyone our Aaliya is a Khan...no wonder she looks like one too 😳
Some people prefer not to put their cast with their names and vice versa. Its all a matter of choice guys. For instance, my dad and his brother have different last names too, merely because my dad prefers having his father's name over his caste and my uncle chooses to use his cast at the end of his name.
We could refer to Mir as Mir Haider and it wouldn't make a difference as Haider is his father's name...but Mir has chosen to be known by his cast thus the different last name.
So basically Khan is just the caste...its a very broad term. And Haider is the ACTUAL family name.
P.S i wonder if the Abdullahs are Khan too, they certainly look like they are. 😆 However i'm not sure if their family follows the practice of marrying their daughters within their castes.
