Kavita Kapoor has been shown the door to make room for a fresh, young face on the SAB show
Ab Mera Kya Hoga? Kavita Kapoor I Got The Look: Naazneen Patel

Yes Boss's Kavita Kapoor is being given the axe from the SAB show Yes Boss because she doesn't fit Meera's part any more.

In order to give the show a fresh and youthful impetus, Meera has now morphed into a sexy, young, chiffon-sari clad woman a la Sushmita Sen in Main Hoon Na, and Kavita doesn't fit the bill any longer.

As a result, Naazneen Patel (presently seen as Megha in Star's afternoon soap Bhabhi) will step into her shoes.

Says Naazneen, "Yes, I will be the new Meera and will commence shooting shortly. It will be a brand-new setup with a new look and lots of sheer saris."

Meera se Meera tak

Naazneen, who was previously an airhostess with Saudia, turned to acting with Kahiin Kissi Roz (Star). She has featured in shows like Kkehna Hai Kuch Mujhko (Sony) and Pancham (Zee).

"My character in Pancham, in which I was the female lead, was also called Meera. This name is close to me heart now. I am looking forward to doing comedy with a veteran like Rakesh Bedi as well as Aasif Sheikh," she says.

Set in an ad agency, Meera is the creative head in Yes Boss, while her husband Mohan (Rakesh Bedi) works as her subordinate. However, no one knows that Meera is Mohan's wife.

To add to the drama, the boss Varma (Aasif Sheikh) has a soft corner for Meera. Soon enough, Meera and Varma's romance unfolds in front of Mohan, who can only vent his frustrations at home to the momma (Sulbha Arya).

Still flirting

The new-look Yes Boss will have Meera making flirtatious moves in a radio station. The shoot was slated to start from May 8 but was postponed by more than a week as the channel did not approve of the new sets.

Incidentally, in July 2006, SAB was considering Nausheen Ali Sardar for the role to give the drama a fresh boost. Kavita's character was to die in a mishap with her heart being transplanted to new incumbent, Nausheen.

This was to ensure that she still has affections for her boss, Varma (Asif Sheikh). But things did not work out with Nausheen and Kavita continued her act.

Must be hard playing second best all the time, no?
