Part 15:

It was 12.15 AM Payal comes out of her friend's house from jagarna pooja with her friends. One by one all said bye to payal and went to their cars where their drivers or husband or son were waiting for them. Payal alone comes to her car and was taking car key from her hand bag,

"Mom" calls from behind her. Payal turns to rey and gets shocked. He never came to pick her up or never asked anything about it till date so seeing him there suddenly surprises her.

"Rey tum? Tum yahan kya kar rahe ho?"

"Ahh..came here to pick you"

"What?" She was really surprised more than happy.

"Let's go mom" says hesitantly as this is first time he is doing something like this for his mom.

"Par my car?"

" ahh.. will tell my driver..wo le ayega kal..aap chalo"

Drive to home was quite a silent affair for both mom and son. Payal felt really happy seeing rey's concern for her and she got it, it's all happening because of kriya as she knows how kriya controls on Smriti's ghoomna phirna. Kriya had put lot of restrictions on her mom. She is really a darling daughter who take care of her mother like a parent take care of their kid. And rey was feeling really low after seeing all his mom's friend's had someone or the other to pick them except his mom. He understood how she might have felt seeing that though she never demanded rey to pick her when she was late. And he also understood his mom definitely missed his father in that situation. So many things were going on in mom and son's minds when they finally reached home around 12.40AM.
Payal was going to her room,

"Mom aap fresh hojao I will get some coffee for us"

She understood rey wants to talk to her something. After 10 mins rey enters his mother's room with two coffee mugs. He sits next to his mother on her bed, giving her a coffee. They just exchange a small smile. After couple of secs,

" mom...I am.. really sorry.. I mean ..muje kabhi dimaag mein hi nahi aaya ki I should pick you up when you are going to return late. I don't know how but I never payed any attention to where you are going, how you are going, do I have to accompany you or do I have to pick you up or should call to ask you need anything or ...whatever it is.. muje kabhi bhi ye sab dyaan hi nahi raha mom..after dad, you started managing everything by yourself, you know, this social life of our family tho muje kabhi bhi iske barein mein..I mean socha hi nahi.. I know it's not a right justification but"

"Aur muje koi justification chahie bhi nahi tumse" payal cuts her son's sentence. When he looks at her, she continues "rey if I wanted, I could've demanded you long back about all these things but I never wanted to. Because tum already poora business handle kar rahe ho and I know sometimes how stressful to manage some issues in business for you. So I didn't want to put any other stress on you. Tho tumhe guilty feel hone ki koi jarurat nahi hai"

"But still...I am sorry mom and now onwards aap 10.30 Pm se pehle ghar aajayenge. No need to attend these late night poojas and functions. And if you attend then I am gonna come every time to pick you up.."

Payal smiles and says "lagta hai kriya ka kuch jada hi asar horaha hai tumpe".

Rey too smiles " whatever it is mom. It's decided aap 10.30 se pehle ghar aaoge aaj se...now go to sleep, itz too late.." he gets up taking empty coffee mugs.

Payal stops him when he reached near her bedroom door " listen rey, ahh kal I need to go for Prasad to my friend's house again around 11AM and then @4.30pm I have to go to one of my friend's house tho do one thing, you stay at home and come to office around 4pm. Morning I will go office as both of my friend's homes are near to office."

"Are you sure mom?"

"Haan rey. You go and take rest. "

" okay mom good night" rey leaves from there. He just was about to enter his room, he receives a message in his cell

Msg - " reached home?"

Rey smiles reading it because when kriya scolded him about how can he let his mom to travel late night alone, he was upset so just excusing himself saying he has headache, he had ended their video chat. He didn't tell kriya that he is going to pick his mom. He was upset. But she understood him. And she was so sure that now she is directly asking him whether he has reached home. He replies back "can I call you?"

Within couple of secs, instead of message reply, he receives a call from kriya.

Kriya : haan rey

Rey chuckles

"Kyun has rahe ho?"

Rey lays on his bed on his stomach, putting his chin on pillow "no 'hello' again"

"Han tho?" She defends herself.

"Kuch nahi. You were so sure I will go to pick up mom haan?"

"Yess(pressing on "s") because I know you" replies happily..

"Oh really now?" Rey once again goes to teasing mode.

Kriya understanding his changed tone "not completely but I can predict your behavior by your words and facial expressions"

Rey smiles. He really feels something special. Gone all the tiredness and his sleep, "hmm so tell me what did you predict whennn" (he leaves the sentence incomplete purposely with teasing hint)

Kriya gulps thinking what he will ask now, what is he upto. She asks "when? "

Rey smiling mischievously, changes his position on the bed. He lays on his back and holds the pillow on his chest with one hand "whennn...I messaged you 'can I call you'?"

Kriya becomes silent for a moment. Rey closes his eyes praying kriya should answer him honestly. He didn't know why but he wanted to know why she was waiting till late night and was concerned about him.

Kriya clears her throat before answering, "I predicted that...that, you will miss your dad today and I...I..."

Rey was shocked to listen her answer because yes the whole journey back to home with his mom, he was thinking if his dad was alive today, his mom would've never felt so lonely. He has been watching his mom's expressions since she came out of her friend's house. She was saying bye to her other friends whose one of the family member was there to pick up. Her face was clearly saying how much she still miss ranvijay. So after speaking to his mom, when rey was returning to his room, he was missing his dad and Kriya's message totally distracted him and made him behave normal, saving him from becoming sad missing his dad..

Kriya : "I...I..."

Rey whispers " you? Bolo kriya"

"I...didn't want you to become sad missing vijay papa"

"Why?"

"Don't know..just don't want to see you become weak...emotionally"

Rey remains silent for couple of mins. Kriya too remain silent, giving rey time to absorb her reply.

Rey whispers again "when are you coming kriya?"

Kriya closes her eyes but replies " bas kuch hi din rey. Few more days.."

Rey doesn't reply to it. There was a pin drop silent from both side..but after long secs kriya says "pleasee"

Rey whispers "hmmm"

"So jao rey. It's too late. You must be tired today"

"Hmmm"

"Rey...you okay?"

"NahI...no"

"Main aarahi hoon rey. Bas kuch din aur. Fir hum sab baatein karenge"

"Jaise?"

"Jaise...jaise..mmm..everything. itne saalo ke saare pending baatein complete karege hum..haan..pakka"(all excited)

Rey just smiles.

"Waise it's all your fault rey. Hum dono bhi dost hote agar aap swayam ki tarah Bangalore aate jaate rehte"

Rey opens his eyes immediately at her accusation "excuse me? Tum bhi tho yahan nahi aayi kabhi. Smriti mom ke sath tum bhi tho asakti thi itne salo tak?"

"I am a girl" came a strong reply

"Oh Wow. What an excuse?" Replies rey sarcastically.

"Rey don't make fun of me. I thought you know how I made mom shift to this apartment with the help of my friends and how is our bonding. Mom told you right?I and Sharon never stayed away from each other since then. Aap ko tho sab pata hai na? "I am a girl" meant girly emotions attached to her place and closed ones."

"yeah and boys ke tho koi emotions hi nahI hote hai na? Even I am attached to Mumbai"

It was enough for kriya to outburst..

Kriya : "FINE...stay attached to your MUMBAI"

Rey too gets frustrated and shouts " yeah..will definitely stay attached to Mumbai. And..and I will make sure kriya ki you also get attached to Mumbai emotionally..FOREVER "

Kriya to shouts in frustration " IN YOUR DREAMS REYANSH" saying this she disconnects the call..

Rey looking at his cell "you disconnected my call? What did you say 'in my dreams' will show you kriya how I will make you love this place as well like Bangalore" he throws the cell on bed and sleeps.

Kriya too throws her cell on her bed and sleeps.

Around 9.30 am rey gets up. Rubbing his eyes he sits on his bed. Immediately he recalls the whole conversation with kriya last night. Jumps out of the bed and start searching for his mobile in the bed

Rey : "shit shit shit..what did I do? How can I say something like that to kriya.? She waited for me till late night and was worried for me aur main? Ullu ki tarah usse fight kia...you are so dead rey..(he finds his cell)

He immediately calls kriya but once again kriya has switched her mobile off..

Rey hits his head with his hand " ab fir se Bangalore jaana padega? Usse manane?"..next moment he grins talking to himself "waise idea bura nahi hai" ..next moment again coming back to normal mode " no no. What am I thinking? Aise nahi chalega. Iss bar I will give her some time to come out of her bad mood..then will talk to her"

Rey has messaged swayam neil Vicky Bharat amar and Vishaka that he is going to institution to join Vicky and neil till 3pm. It's rare that rey or swayam get such off since both have joined their family business. So whenever either of them get such golden opportunity, they inform others and they all try and gather in institution.

Around 11am rey reached institution. Vicky neil told their students to practice on some steps today and they join rey in the rehearsals hall.

Swayam and others too join them soon..they all did some routine dance steps for almost 2 hours..then exhausted they sit sipping water.

Vicky : awesome..aaj tho maja agaya.

Neil : seriously. Sab milke aise dance karne me maja hi kuch aur hai.

Swayam : yeahhh..I too miss dancing with you guys..

All agreed. Except rey. Who was busy in looking at his mobile.

Vishaka : isse kya hua..rey?

Rey : yeah?

Vishaka : all okay?

Rey : haan yeah (sadly)

Swayam : kya hua rey? Kisine kuch kaha?

Vicky : kriya se fight tho nahi kiya?(in teasing tone)

Rey takes deep breath "kya batau yaar..pata nahi why I behave like an idiot with he r"

All smile at his words. "Abb tune kya kiya?" Asks swayam. Rey tells them everything and gets scolding from them nicely. Accepting his fault he excuses himself saying he is not in a mood and leave from there.

It was around 7 he comes back from office and directly goes to his room saying to payal he has headache. But to his badluck his gang was waiting for him in his room. He was in a bad mood in the morning so just to cheer him up they were all there.

Bharat : (playing game in his mobile) baat hui?

Rey : no

Amar : still phone off hai?

Rey : hmm (sits on the bed loosing his tie)

Swayam : relax rey..main kuch karta hoon.. he calls Sharon and tells her to go to kriya's place and give phone to her.

Sharon knew kriya had a fight with rey but reason she didn't tell clearly to her friends. Sharon goes to kriya and gives the mobile saying swayam wants to talk to her.

Kriya sniffing : haan swayam

Swayam shuts his eyes for a moment then keeps the cell on speaker mode(as the gang's attention was on swayam when he said Sharon to give the mobile to kriya, they were all silent and looking at swayam)

Swayam : ro rahi thi? (Looks at rey)

Kriya (clearing her voice) "no..no..swayu..wo..maine kal late night bait ke ice cream khaayi thi na bahot se..wo..muje..umm neend nahi aarahi thi na tho bas..."

Rey shuts his eyes in frustration. This time he was frustrated for his own behavior. For making kriya's condition miserable. When she all did was to care for him.

Swayam without running around the bush "kriya..rey wants to talk to you"

Kriya became silent for a moment then says "hmm"

Swayam gives his cell to rey removing the speaker mode.

Rey : sorry (he didn't care about his gang who was grinning looking at him. Actually they were enjoying reys situation. They knew rey and kriya will patch up but this cat-dog fight made rey's situation hilarious for them)

"No 'hello' nothing?"

Rey smiles sadly " you switched your mobile off again?"

"Why? Fir se fight karna tha mujse?"

"What do you mean by 'fir se fight karna tha?' (He stands up with that) hammesha kya main hi fight karta hoon tumse?"

"Yess"

"What? Kriya I fought only two times with you till now..dont blame me for all the fights"

"For your kind information REYANSH we fought only two times till now. So that indicates both times you only fought with me"

Accepting the defeat rey say " okay okay I accept it.. and what is it with "Reyansh"? night also you addressed me like that. Call me 'rey' "

Bharat : ye tho gaya kaam se (still playing the game)

Kriya : wo main gussa thi tho aise address kiya hoga

"Hmm..so?" (Coming to normal)

" so?"

"You were crying?"

"No.. I was happy that my rey has fought with me so was dancing happily"

Sharon raised her eyebrow at kriya's word "my rey" but kriya didn't understand what Sharon is asking by her gesture.

Rey grinning like an idiot "my rey?"

Kriya realised now what did she say. She looks at Sharon shocked but Sharon was smiling pretending like reading the magazine in her hand..

Kriya: "haan wo galti se muh se nikal gayi" (biting her nails)

Rey literally jumping happily " oh really? Aise galti hamesha karte raho..I don't mind"

"Shut up rey(irritated)..wait a min..are you trying to flirt with me? REYANSH?"

Rey laughs shamelessly without caring for his friends presence and says "I am not trying SWEATHEART, I am really flirting with you. (Showing fake anger) and again "reyansh"? Call me 'rey' kriya..or else you can also call meee..." (he purposely left the sentence incomplete because he very well knows the reaction he gets from kriya on such incomplete sentences by him)

Kriya again biting her nails " I can also call you? What?"

"Bad habit kriya. Stop biting your nails" (controlling his laugh)

"Wh...what? I was not biting my nails.."

"Hmm okay..I accept your words BABY.." (controls his smile)

"Baby?" (Nervously)

Sharon laughs out loudly at kriya's condition covering her face with the magazine. Sharon knows Rey's flirting habit.

"Forget it..tho hum kahan the?" (Sweetly)

"Hum?" (Nervous again. She didn't know what will rey say next)

" haan HUM kriya..yeah..yaad aaya..you can also call meee" (again left the sentence incomplete but he was not laughing this time. He was serious about what he gonna say next)

"Call you?"

"Hmm hmm(extra sweetly).. you can also address mee always as..."

"As What?" (Holding her breath nervously)

"As YOUR REY...remember?"

Kriya cuts the call immediately. On the other side rey smiles looking at the mobile and giving it back to swayam..it was then he notices his friend's teasing smile towards him. And he also realised he openly flirted with kriya infront of his friends..

"What? Hum dono aise hi baat karte hai okay? " rey defends himself in front of his friends.

Swayam hits rey's head slightly saying "sudarega nahi tu.."

Rey laughs once again loudly..
