So like only about 99.99% of the forum 😆😆, i have been racking my brains to figure what this twist is, and while the twist seems almost certain, what is the bearing it will have on Zaya.
Here's what i came up with:
Barkat was probably Usmaan-Suraiya's elder daughter who fell in the well and died, but am sure there is some Bhopali connection there. Zain is probably not their own son, but adopted, one she dreamed of getting married to Barkat. Which is why she was dead against getting a Bhopali DIL in place of her daughter (something like Lady Catherine, aunt of Darcy who was against Elizabeth)!
OR
Probably, Barkat was her daughter who died, she still grieves her, and probably there is some Bhopali connection. What might happen is that her sister's daughter might now come in, one who she loves like her daughter, esp. coz of her wound. She might want her to marry Zain since she is from her family and in Surraiya's mind deserves her son more than Aliya (a slightly different way of getting in the original 'Hamsafar' triangle)
EDIT: Actually now that i have put down my points, i feel it the second seems more likely, but first also plausible
